My mum has been in the village for the past one month taking care of my dad who was in the hospital for 3 weeks. Climbing flight of stairs to get the doctors, fetch water, drag nurses to do their jobs, sleeping in the hospital for the 3 weeks my dad was admitted and still taking care of him till now.

Keep treating ur wives as outsiders in their own homes and hope to God u never need them to be there for u when u can’t be there for urself.

And I don't agree that wives treat the husband good when he needs their help due to the past.. a bad person is a bad person and same with a good person..
If you like cross the seven seas for some, you go chop breakfast when you expect them to return the favour..
Just pray and plan not to be at anyone's mercy..

DeleteMen have been known to be abandoned by women they took care of or were good to (because "care of" or "good to" is always defined by the receiver).
Men have been known to be terminal care givers. There is no art or science on who falls sick or dies first amongst couples or between the young and old.
All a person can really pray for is to live life well and not to be a burden on their loved ones in the last days.
Why should a man be good to his wife only because he wants him to be his death nurse. What is wrong with being good to a wife (or husband) because that is the right thing to do or right way to be though it is not always easy with some partners.
In fact, with the Nigerian healthcare system today, it is better to advise advance provision and investment for old care and healthcare than this "treat your wife well or good" chants. Wife wey no get investment or money cannot take care of a really aged or sick husband. Yes, you see the wives at the hospitals. But most funding are from children and the husband's family.
Saw a friend recently who says his mom goes for dialysis frequently. Do you expect to see that person at the hospital or on the streets looking for the money to pay? Yet somebody will write that "this woman's children do not come to nurse her in the hospital".
May Almighty God help us to treat our spouse good because it is the right way to treat them and live in marriage.

ReplyDeleteMy own husband collect his £30.000 pension and his shares of £88.000 and port with sidechic with big brest, living me with a 2yrs old baby and two other children to take care of, after 2yrs he is trying to find his way back that i am a lucky star to him that he didn't realised. He is with lung cancer now! God no de sleep.
