Two time Big Brother Naija star Uriel Oputa (35years old) has recounted her struggle with amenorrhea .....
She said: “Before I decided to embark on a health journey, I had health challenges. One of them was that I didn’t see my period for four years. And I remember going to the doctors in the UK, and they told me that there was a high possibility that I would never be able to have children. That time, my niece was two years old and I remember leaving the office thinking, ‘Oh! I will never be able to have a child.’
“I went into a state of depression. I was so depressed that I couldn’t watch kids on TV. I hated going past schools or parks because I would be reminded constantly that I may not be able to be a mother. So, it reached a point where I said, ‘Okay, if I can’t be a mother, I would have my niece as mine.’ And that is why, till today, we [my niece and I] are very close because she looks at me as a second mother.”
-Uriel in a recent chat with media personality Hero Daniels.(daily post)
Amenorrhea is the medical term for the absence of menstruation during the reproductive years, between puberty and menopause.

Amenorrhea is usually caused by an underlying condition. She probably has PCOS
ReplyDeleteThis is the condition I'm battling and I'm single at 37. I look up to God for mercy and money to be able to afford surrogacy or ivf. I can't even say yes to a man knowing I may not be able to give him kids. I earn 250k and I'm the soul provider for my parents. God, come through for me, send.
DeleteMy 1st period at 13, same yr from December till June of d following year no period,I was in boarding sch. Pple my mother took me to different labs thinking I was preggy.
DeleteEvery Dec Period go disappear for months, I had my baby same December, after struggling.
My point is nothing is impossible, u can defy Medical reports with Faith, stop speaking negativity out
Uriel u will and shall have your own IJN!
Go to Blessed Sacrament. Na the jazz for pregnancy God keep there
I do not have an account here but please stop been negativity to yourself. I had the same and have given birth to 2 kids at my late thirties and early forty. You need a good gynaecologist that would put you on the right medication. PCOS is the issue and with weight loss and the right diet you can get pregnant even without meds. I wish you all the best.
DeleteSorry for the error. *bringing negativity*
DeleteToo much revelation! Some things are better kept under wraps. Tomorrow, she’ll start lamenting that no one has approached her.
ReplyDeleteMy thought exactly..
DeleteMust she say everything about her in the public?
And you are a single..
Nigeria men value children..no man will ever want a woman who can't reproduce..
Do will still have those types of men here?
Nna eh.
DeleteCalm down.
DeleteShe didn’t grow up in Nigeria so she doesn’t have our hide and seek mentality. The British are open minded.
People have been speaking about their conditions now. It's better said on time,so any guy interested is aware from start.
Delete
DeleteI don't subscribe to the public information because I'm a private person, but this is something you should tell any guy that comes around as soon as possible..
Wouldn't you want to know that your man sperm can't impregnate a woman? Or you'd prefer to be deceived until you find out after marriage..
Abeg make we dey picture ourselves for other people shoes before talking
I agree. Tean no deceit in love✅. How body na Simpslayer? I dey miss you gan. I don epp you see one annoying Simp o. He don collect one strike sef but I go gist you when you return fully. Stay strong fam💙
DeleteBut it’s better speaking out than having someone’s son live in deception nah.she will be lucky to find a guy who doesn’t need kids or single father.
Delete@Dante, are the entire public a man that approaches her for marriage or a serious relationship? This is a very private and vital information and she shoulda kept it to herself and whoever deserves to know. Watch some dumb Nigerans change her name from Uriel to barren and stuff like that. This is stupid.
Delete10:18
DeleteBut she's Nigerian,in Nigeria and hoping to marry a Nigerian right? Common sense ain't common after all.
Hmmm!!!
DeleteA lot of people have been talking about their journey and we always encourage it. Why dyu have a problem with Uriel’s
DeleteShe talks anyhow!
DeleteHer mouth no dey ever close.😵
How is it possible that these people bring everything to the eye of the public? Do they think at all before saying things like this in the open?
ReplyDeletesorry sweet girl
ReplyDeleteIt's well with you Uriel..the God of all possiblity will sure make you smile
ReplyDeleteWhat a revelation. Everyone with his or her personal issues. Nothing is what it seems in this life. God help us all.
ReplyDeleteNa everybody dey go through a lot. It is just a-lotter than some people's a-lot.
DeleteStella, she said there was a time, she didn't say the condition is still there. She embarked on a health journey to correct it.
ReplyDeleteMost people will just read the headline and fly with it
Anything bloggers makes off that silly revelation, she should accept it like that because she asked for it. Don't know why people hate privacy this much these days.
DeleteUriel mouth no get filter. This is information she should share with a man asking her hand in marriage if it's still there but then as a celeb too, this may be her own way of drawing attention to the condition as she did about her mom's condition too.
ReplyDeleteThat is not my only point. I hope people who abuse mature single people can see that some of them are just being honest and conscientious by not deceiving people into marriage. Hers started early just like a few people I know. Menopause no be for only women wey don "old" o. There are people who knew they had a condition but still kept it a secret and got married come dey form "looking for a solution" with their partner. Honesty is the best policy.
I feel during the interview, they use to cast a spell on them that made them reveal their topmost secret.uriel you are still a young lady, revealing such at this point is not right
ReplyDeleteSad, sorry. I sincerely feel she should have kept this information to herself and of course her spouse before marriage. Anyways Our God is a miracle worker.
ReplyDeleteAlways opening mouth waaaaaarrrhhh! Maybe na swear Sha. 🤒
ReplyDeleteSome of you are wierd. Why do we want people to hide and hide their struggles so much? What is wrong with sharing a journey that other people struggle from and we can learn and share resources on? There is something deeply wrong with this mentality.
ReplyDeleteExactly no mind them. Meanwhile, these same people that hides things still run to google to read other people's health issues and solutions. If they don't shares their issues , how will you know how to remedy yours
DeleteShe can still opt for adoption of a day old baby
ReplyDeleteIt is good she revealed it so that any man that wants to come to her will bear that in mind. At least no too much explanation of ones self in the relationship.
