One thing I noticed in this court case is that, both INEC, BAT/Shettima and APC hurriedly closed their defense just one day when they had five days to do so. They ended up just with one witness each. These were people before now in their response, boldly wrote they will prove they won the election. Suddenly, they along side their witnesses or absconded from cross examination.
ReplyDeleteWhen I asked someone why are these people hurriedly closing their defense on an election they claimed they won and guess what the person told me. He said; ''When you’re in a pit, you stop digging.''
I think I agreed with him.
One of the master stroke for me was the cross examination from a PDP lawyer to the witness as recorded by A distinguished Field Marshal herself, General Oluchi.
The PDP lawyer told Bamidele the witness of BAT/Shettima that according to The Location of FCT report he attached to his WS (witness statement), Abuja is suppose to be a symbol of our unity, but the witness replied that the statement was subjective, and that every state has its capital city.
The lawyer asked him a trick question,
“how many states do we have in Nigeria?”
And the witness replied, “36.”
The lawyer asked him to look at page 51 of that FCT report where the Committee recommended that Abuja as FCT should be specially provided for in the constitution because of its importance, and the witness read it and agreed with him.
The lawyer told him that, by that recommendation, Abuja is a special entity. The witness replied that it was recommended that Abuja be provided for only. The lawyer asked him to read out a statement in the report which he did, and the lawyer said, “do you now agree that Abuja is our symbol of Unity?” The witness said yes.
Another interesting interrogation for me was when the lawyer told Bamidele that Tinubu did not score 25% in FCT, Abuja and the witness replied that he (Tinubu) didn’t need to. The lawyer informed him that Buhari and Yardua scored 25% in FCT but Tinubu did not!
“ I put it to you that Tinubu is the first person who never scored 25% in FCT!”
The witness replied that it wasn’t the intention of the lawmakers to make 25% mandatory.
The lawyer fired at the witness by saying, “Of all the 4 major candidates APC, PDP, LP, NNPP each of those 4 candidates won in their home state except Tinubu!”
The witness said yes.

One day, the lizard said to his best friend, the frog.
"I want to tell you about my hopes, dreams and ambitions in life"
The frog hooted.
"Oh wow, okay then"
Then the lizard said.
"I want to own a very large farm. I want to build my own house. I want to learn a new language. And I want to marry a very beautiful princess".
The frog flapped his hands in excitement.
"Wow! That's awesome! You have such great plans, my friend. I'm so happy for you"
The following week, the frog said to the lizard.
"Come with me privately. I have something to show you".
He took the lizard for a long walk on the lonely path. After a while, he stopped in front of an old, rusty and crumbled beverage can.
The frog declared.
"Listen friend, I have decided to help you achieve all your dreams in life, that is why I brought you here... All you need to do is stick your head in this can, you will see some fireflies flashing their light. Do not interrupt them, you should only make a wish before their light goes off, and your wish will come true"
Astonished, the lizard asked.
"Are you sure about this?"
"Of course! it works like magic" the frog affirmed.
"But the hole is quite narrow, I might get stuck"
"You won't get trapped. Besides, I'll be here to help you out if you do... I only want the best for you, my friend"
After being convinced, the lizard went ahead and inserted his head into the can. But he soon realised he had been decieved.
"I didn't see any fireflies with light. Pull me out!" he chirped and cried.
Then, an evil smile showed on the frog's face.
"It's going to be a slow and painful death, my friend... I hope you can achieve all those dreams when you're gone. Goodbye forever".
He whispered and leaped away.
In as much as sharing your goals with others is somewhat helpful, it is true that sharing it with the wrong people could be a gateway to disaster. Some friends may act like well-wishers to you, but are secretly happy when you fail. Some of us have been through tough situations, only because we decided to share some secrets with friends. Fake friends are like scorpions in butterfly wings, and could do more damage than the real enemies. Talk less, and dream more.
There is power in silence and confidence.

In Nigeria every geopolitical zone has its culture and way of life. Every state has their own and every community has theirs too. As a single woman who wants to follow the annonmous advice from yesterday IHN. Please think about your family, culture and the way of life of your people. Some communities will NEVER accord a male child born adopted by their female daughter any respect no matter who he becomes in the society.
A young man committed sucide in my community because of the humiliation he went through in the hands of his kinsmen. They refused him to buy a land or build a house in the community. His background affected him so much that he decided to marry early and went to live in the city with his young wife. According to him, his wife got to know about his birth status and stated using it against him. His brother in-law called him a bastard one day in the course of argument, threatened to kill him as no one will ask after him.
Plenty stories. He died. Oh he died. I only wished he lived longer. Maybe. But so many of us are not strong emotionally.

Those kids are writting exams for God's sake. It was reported to be happening in South East. Why is the Internet silent about such crisis? The political spokespersons from that side are suddenly quite. It's well with Nigeria.

DeleteIt's barbaric and so shameful such is happening. The Eastern governors have shown incompetence in handling the security challenges in the region so also is the government at the centre.
My sincere condolences to all affected and I do hope a dialogue is been put in place as quick as possible for the immediate release of the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra. I think that's the first and panacea to all this unrest.
I still don't get the justification of his incarceration even after several courts judgments discharged and acquitted him.
He's the one that will address and put to an end every sit at home disturbing the region. The people trust and listen to him more than the government.
