The Nigerian Poilce says that it vehemently condemn the contemptuous act displayed by comedian Abdulgafar Abiola, popularly known as "Cute Abiola," in two recent skits posted on his social media handles on 20th and 24th July, 2023
RE: POLICE UNIFORM: COMEDIAN ABDULGAFAR ABIOLA, AKA "CUTE ABIOLA’S" CONTEMPTUOUS ACT IS CRIMINAL, PUNISHABLE
In as much as the law grants Nigerians the right to enjoy their fundamental human rights, the same law prohibits an individual, under whatever guise, from rubbishing the police institution or grossly violating its provisions with regards to the use of uniforms.
We, therefore, vehemently condemn the contemptuous act displayed by comedian Abdulgafar Abiola, popularly known as "Cute Abiola," in two recent skits posted on his social media handles on 20th and 24th July, 2023. The skits in question show a highly disrespectful and derogatory portrayal of the police uniform, an action that is in direct violation of Section 251 of the Criminal Code and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law. Such acts are not only offensive but also undermine the integrity and dignity of the men and women who wear the uniform in service to the nation.
Abdulgafar Abiola will be investigated and possibly prosecuted for his deliberate acts as the NPF had already warned skit makers and filmmakers to desist from desecrating its uniform or accoutrements.
The Force is committed to upholding the sanctity of the uniform and will pursue due legal process to ensure accountability for any individual or entity that seeks to bring disrepute to the uniform or the institution it represents.
We call on all members of the public, including media personalities, to exercise their freedom of expression responsibly and avoid engaging in actions that could erode public trust in our revered law enforcement institutions. '
This man disgusts the hell out of me. No more innocent civilians on the street to go after now, they are now going after people trying to make honest living.
ReplyDeleteHas he finished arresting nollywood? Even Lawyer Layi will get this case thrown out of court without breaking a sweat

ReplyDeletehian, what just flashed in my eyes were all the movies I have watched over the years and even current programs where the actors don military, or police uniforms. na wa for nigeria o.
ReplyDeleteMovies like - An officer and a gentleman, many many other movies with people playing the part of police, army, navy, marines, etc. Programs like Chicago PD, Chicago fire, NYPD, NCIS, even nollywood movies with actors playing the part of police in uniform sef.etc etc.
Did the skit maker present himself as a bonafide police officer abi he was acting something?
Instead of this police people to genuinely take actions to repair their yeye image, they are bullying people. mtcheew.
you have given the guy publicity, now I am searching to watch the skit sef.
ReplyDeletei'm back from watching the skit. What did the abiola guy do or sat that is not true of the Nigerian police? nothing. He was even very mild with th skit sef. No be uniformed people day enter person car uninvited then bullying them for their hard earned money, or don't we see all those real police videos. Abeg shift and park Mr. olopa.
DeleteAwon werey alaso dudu. Shey he's the first person to use police uniform to act ni? Have you arrest Mr "now moof"? Dem go leave leprosy dey treat ringworm
ReplyDeleteSkit makers should understand the country they are in and its systems for the sake of their own business.
ReplyDeletePoor, hungry and envious officers have no joy regarding their colleague, Abiola, who is also a uniformed man. They won't disturb Woos but they will trouble you bc you've found your way to earn better from a dead end job.
Copy the nollywood movie makers and officer Woos: don a t-shirt or ask Oshiomole's tailor to sew you and Co with black and blue colour. Buy a beret from Balogun then let police tell you you are wearing their uniform as Oshiomole is wearing that of customs and immigration.
