  1. The Word Propels You To Do!!
    Philippians 2:13.

    Excerpts!!

"The Word of God is a propelling force; it’s a propelling power. It gives you the spiritual motivation, and enables you to do. The Word effectually works in you, energizing and creating in you the power and desire to actualize your dream."

"Success comes from “doing,” that is, acting, not from seeing only. There’re many with great ideas—in business, politics, ministry, etc., —that never came to light because they never took action. If only they’d meditate on the Word."

"Colossians 3:16 says to let the Word of God dwell in you richly; have it in your spirit in abundance because of what it does in you."

    Prayer!!

Dear Father, I thank you for granting me insight into spiritual mysteries and secrets and implanting in me the passion to do your will. I'm propelled by your Word, stirred and motivated to act and walk in the path of success and greatness in fulfilling my destiny in Christ. Hallelujah!

    Further Study:
    James 1:22-25; 1 Timothy 4:15; Colossians 3:16.

  2. I have been a teacher for 23 months and have sailed through two academic sessions. The first year with this set up was quite refreshing because the pupils were "well armed" and that afforded me the privilege to go beyond what the scheme availed me on their behalf. That was yet another plus for them. I recounted here how they aced all their examinations.

This year, it was different. I invested a major chunk of first term re-enacting what they ought to have mastered from the previous class and ofcourse, I had to find a way to marry what was lost with what had to be gained. Unlike last year, I had barely any spare time to go beyond the syllabus. Just like last year, they aced their exams, but I broke my back, head... so they could break a leg.

The point I am driving at is that summer classes are very important and should be integrated into every school's curriculum. The former set I catered for came straight out of summer, while the latter did not. I understand the concerns that budding minds need to be exposed to money-making skills as a contingency plan, but that is not a good enough reason for summer class to be jettisoned. Instead, academics and skills acquisition should be married together to form a formidable system, so learners can have the best of both worlds and arm them for greatness.

    Have a beautiful week ahead.

The issue of summer class should be approached on individual traits. My children will attend summer class because I know that my daughter in science class needs it. If I send her to learn skill, it will not really help her with her further mathematics.

If a child has the ability to assimilate faster in class, the child should be introduced to other extra curriculum activity like computer, photography and art..

      Your last paragraph Is it!

I've always said that teaching and impacting knowledge in people is a rare gift. You guys are really trying. I know how I'm so impatient with my son when assisting him with his homework, I had to force myself to be calm and now we are good. Na there I know say good teachers are really trying. God bless you all. ❤️

    5. Jules, in many advanced countries that I have travelled to (including those that brought this education to Nigeria), academic activities are not much like what we have in Nigeria, it is more of tech and craft out there. That is why they are making new innovations everytime. We need to do better.

    6. Nice write up. However, where is the place of kids having to relax and unwind after a busy term full of school-work and other extra-curricular activities. I believe the holidays should be a good time to venture out into other interests like travelling, baking e.t.c.

If you are unable to cover the curriculum for the year, then there is need to review and overhaul the curriculum which I believe should be done at least 5 years if we are serious about the dynamism in our education system.

I have seen what some primary school curriculum and it is an overload hence the pressure is a lot higher. I really dunno if it is pressure for whose-kids-are-doing-better-than-who.

We focus too much on book side of things in this part of the world. For me summer holidays can be about camping with other kids, learning soft skills and handy work e.t.c.

  5. Nigeria handlers won't cease to amaze me. You haven't handle the security challenges in the country especially in the North, Middle belt and South East. Yet you're threatening the coup perpetrators of Niger republic when you haven't put your own house in order.

The worse mistake ECOWAS will make is to go for a fight as they have planned instead of diplomacy in handling this.

The coup plotters are already banking on Russia in supplying of large ammunitions to them as reported by the military dictator.

Another point to note is that, the Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso military forces are joining alliances with Niger to counter any attack from ECOWAS. I fear there will be casualties. Nigeria should know there are over 300,000 of its citizens in Niger as refugees that were displaced by Boko Haram terrorism. Their safety should be considered unless they want Niger to forcefully return them to Nigeria.

I can tell you, this isn't going to be a walk in the park for ECOWAS.

The problem is we Africans have failed to stop with the white-man-is-our-saviour mentality. This is how the Biafran side also depended on USSR then for ammunition, where did it end?

Na Africans go save Africa and themselves. Tinubu is under pressure because he is a close ally with the French side. I pray such does not befall Nigeria. Look at same thing with Burnika Faso, the young military leader has likened himself with Thomas Sankara. Africa Unite!!

  6. BREAK OUT OF YOUR “BOX”

'They...limited the Holy One of Israel.' Psalm 78:41 NKJV

The Bible says: 'They provoked him in the wilderness, and grieved him in the desert! Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember his power' (Psalm 78:40-42 NKJV). The Israelites continually provoked God's anger and grieved his heart in the wilderness. How? By limiting what he could do for them and through them. And we do the same when we fail to recognise and use the gifts God gives us and the creative ideas he places within our minds.

God wants you to break out of the 'box' of your own history, hang-ups and personal limitations. One of the ways you can do this is by constantly exposing yourself to new ideas, places and people. God's word says: 'Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left' (Isaiah 54:2-3 NKJV). Note the words 'enlarge' and 'stretch out' and 'lengthen' and 'strengthen' and 'expand'. Creativity is just teachability.

Are you teachable? The words on a tombstone read: 'Died at 40, was buried at 80.' Unless you keep learning, growing and expanding your thinking, that could be your fate too. You say, 'But I'm not naturally creative.' Creativity comes from developing your God-given gifts and seizing the opportunities he sends your way in life. Do you want to break out of your 'box'? That's how you do it!

  7. Yesterday morning, a young man in Kano, was his usual playful self. By night fall, he was dead - stabbed in the chest by his own blood sister in a moment of rage. Their younger sibling who witnessed everything, said their brother had always cautioned his sister against dating married men. And so yesterday, after she returned from one of her trysts, the brother accosted her, she insulted him, he slapped her, they got into a scuffle, before she rushed to the kitchen, got a knife, and stabbed him. The girl has been arrested, and as it stands, she'll either get life sentence or death penalty. Either ways, the family has lost 2 kids. Sad indeed!

    4. Me, I'll never blame a married man for 'cheating' unless in exceptional circumstances.. cos what I have seen these girls do and the length they go to frolic with another woman's husband, they don't deserve a faithful and loyal man.

I remember this babe back then that came to complain to me about her oga cheating and I reminded her of how she sef followed married men (I have posted the story here before).. when she was single and when I was advising her, she would say whether you follow or not, dem go still follow your husband, that when she gets married, so far her husband is providing for the home, she doesn't mind what he does outside..

But as usual, talk is cheap.. when the time came, shebi she started fighting her husband.. I know she'll be telling him that she didn't follow other people husband and so she don't deserve such disrespect to play the victim 😂😂. But for her mind she knows she's deceiving herself..

  12. Good morning & happy new week everyone. Things are really happening oo. I read on WhatsApp yesterday of a man who surprised his wife with a portrait of herself & another man in bed on her birthday. The lady was said to have cheated on her husband & his secret camera caught them. Instead of reacting, he kept quiet & advised her to invite her family and friends to a surprise birthday bash he organised for her.

When it was time for the surprise birthday gift he promised her, he presented the printed picture captured by his hidden camera as a gift in the presence of her family & friends present at the surprise birthday bash. That was how the birthday party scattered. Some people can go to any length to seek revenge sha. I doubt that woman will recover from that humiliation from her husband.

    1. It’s why I advise any woman who has cheated on her man to just leave that marriage while it’s early..

Men don’t easily forgive cheating, those who even stay after you cheated and they are aware simply do that because:

      1) They are buying time with you OR

      2) They don’t have the resources to cater for the family by themselves OR

      3) You are the means to an end..

Once the mission is accomplished which usually take time(years),they would leave you for someone else cos cheating bruises men Ego totally..

“Forgive and forget” is for women, any man that tells you he has forgiven is simply telling you what they believe you want to hear(momentarily cos they believe you have got fish brain)..

If you like say otherwise, you would remember this comment someday if you are cheetah😊

I don't agree with you, there are Good men that forgive, there are few REAL MEN that forgive and forget, they understand that no one is perfect, I'm lucky to be married to one, he has caught me cheating with 2 men, he cried and begged me to stop hurting him, but I can't, and he understands me.. that's a Real Man"

    7. @Martins, "Men don't easily forgive cheating" "cheating bruises men's ego" " forgive and forget is for women"

The opposite should be women forgive cheating easily, cheating doesn't bruise women's ego and of course forgive and forget is for women. Is it safe to say women are the bigger persons?

    8. Why will he do that to the mother of his children? He should have ended it na. This is so wrong.

She cheated on her husband in her matrimonial bed for Christ sake,do you know the pain and hurt that man must have felt watching the video or the pics of his own wife been banged by another man in his own home? I believe he questioned his sanity at some point where he might have lost it as a husband for his wife to tow this part..the wife deserve every humiliation and more sef

      Delete
    12. Forgive and forget is not for women too, martins. Maybe men delude themselves into thinking they are forgiven to feel good or special but;
The three reasons you gave why men stays with a cheat is also the reason why women stays. I doubt both genders forgive. If you look deeply there are reasons why a cheat still has a woman or a man beside him/her.

      1) Buying time: Women do this the most more than men. It is either they are waiting for their children to grow up or bidding time for their relocation plans to abandon the men.

2)They don't have the resources to cater to the kids or themselves: most of those married to cheats cannot leave because the man is the breadwinner. The women don't have jobs to take care of themselves and their children. They have no place to go due to lack of financial freedom.

3)You are a means to an end: They are still benefitting from you one way or the other and if they leave right away those benefits becomes non-existent. E.g soft life, the man takes care of the parents hospital bills, younger brothers and sisters school fees, opened businesses or curry contracts for relatives. Those married to wealthy men. At that point they are not there for love but what they can salvage. If the man was poor or those benefits were absent they would have abandon him like forever.

      4) Protecting their year long "investments and life struggles"

One more reason is that the woman is also cheating in return while are needs are being met so why leave? She says.

      Delete
    13. @DeHeroine, you quite right women are the bigger persons, knowing that no one is perfect. Though called fish brain, they are more resilient, emotionally intelligent and more calculating. Women have no ego to protect, hence they are the bigger persons!

      Delete
    14. Lol@DeHeroine, let the women be the bigger person in that aspect.
You women like manipulation too much.
We all know that financial incapability and guilty of the past are the reasons why women forgive. So it is safe to say that women don't have any option than to stay.

      Delete
    15. Women should start doing this too

  24. Any moment from now ❌
    Any moment now ☑️

    Here's why:

Any moment from now is not standard English.

I looked it up (googled it) in the dictionary just now. And got redirected to the correct version which is "Any moment now".

"Any moment now" means very soon.
    It's synonymous with:
    "At any moment".

If you say that something will happen any moment now, you are emphasizing that it is likely to happen very soon.

    For example 👇

    1. Any moment now, the man will be here to see you.

    2. The children will be arriving from school any moment now.
    .......

Any MINUTE now is also correct. ✅

This is the way Cambridge dictionary captures the expression, together with many examples: 👇

    Any minute/moment/second/time now:
    This means very soon.

    See the examples 👇

    1. The guests are coming any MINUTE now, and the house is still a mess.

    2. Any MINUTE now, Julia will be here.

    3. They'll be arriving any MINUTE now.

    4. She's due to give birth any MOMENT now.

    5. Any MOMENT now, thought Georgia, he would lose his temper and start to shout.

    6. That phone's going to ring any SECOND now.

    7. The taxi should be here any TIME now.

  26. Life is controlled by principles not by miracles. Sowing Cassava and praying to reap Cocoayam is eternally a waste of time.

If we must get results, we must commit ourselves to what makes the results a possibility not the other way round.

  28. DEAR MEN!!!!!!!

After years of working as a nurse in a male medical ward, I can tell you 2 things I've observed.........

1.... As a married man, the only person who's going to be by your bedside when you are sick is your wife. I repeat, your wife......On rare occasions, your kids will be there. For a while though! Only your wife can leave whatever she's doing to be with you.
Your siblings may come and go, your friends may visit, but your wife is the only one who will wholeheartedly stay with you throughout your ordeal in the hospital.

2..... The way you treated your wife when you were healthy always shows in the way she will treat you when you are sick.

I've seen this pattern play out daily. You see those wives who are being treated well doing everything they can to make their husbands get well. They disturb the health care practitioners, they cry, they rake, they pray, they go above and beyond to make their husbands get better.

Well, the reverse is the case with the abused wife. Her laissez faire attitude will be topnotch. You will sleep and wake up in your poo. You'll starve. She's just staying there for staying sake. Some will leave you in the hospital for like 2 or 3 days before returning from wherever they went to unwind.
You will report to your people, they'll yell on the phone and still nothing will happen. One told her in-laws to come and cut her hands and place it on her husband's buttocks to clean his poo.
You will do nothing. Your family will do nothing.
    You will be helpless.

I know you must be thinking that you can revenge if she's the one on sick bed but No you can't.....
    ..
    ..
Why? Because you won't be the one taking care of her during her time in the hospital. You can't even bring yourself to sleep in the hospital.

You'll employ the services of other people to do the job for you. Her people too will be there for her. Your children will be hovering around her.

You think I'm lying? Try walking into any hospital, compare the male wards and the female wards.
You will have a clear understanding of what I'm talking about.

Whenever I hear men brag about cheating and supremacy, I laugh.

Do not dare your woman. For you'll pay through your nose when the time comes.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

    Treat your women better.

  37. The world has been sleeping on women football and they are not getting the deserved accolades. Because what Colombia did to the German machines. That was a match. It was so fierce...

The women have been playing so well and I am confident to say that they are above par with their male counterparts.

  41. Reno Omokri shares his two cents on the Nigerien coup and knocks you-know-who

Niger Republic is a landlocked country. It should be possible for ECOWAS, led by Nigeria, to restore the democratically elected President, Mohamed Bazoum, to power by placing an embargo on the country. Nothing must go in, and nothing must come out except emergency medical supplies. No food, no beverages, no weapons, no cars, no nothing. Niger also depends largely on Nigeria for electric power. Abuja should shut the tap on that until the democratically elected President is returned to office. In addition, the Kano-Maradi rail line construction currently going on should be suspended.

And in addition to the sticks mentioned above, some carrots should be dangled, such as complete immunity for the coup plotters, as well as allowing the ring leaders to leave the country along with a promise to pay them a robust maintenance allowance.

There are other ways apart from military intervention to reverse this coup. Use sanctions and diplomacy to put the squeeze on these guys the way President Obasanjo put the squeeze on the putschists that attempted to overthrow President Fradique de Menezes of São Tomé and Príncipe in 2003.

    #TableShaker

Those Nigerians now celebrating the coup in Niger Republic and calling for similar illegal actions in their countries, especially disgruntled supporters of a failed Presidential candidate, who insist that he won the recent Nigerian election, whereas the candidate did not even assert such claims in his petition before Nigeria's Presidential Election Petition Court, may want to take the above facts into strong consideration.

Nigeria's current problems began with a military coup d'état on January 15, 1966. That coup led to the collapse of regionalism and resource control and the almost total concentration of power in the central government.

Nigeria is still grappling with the issues caused by that unnecessary action which opened up a Pandora's Box of unintended consequences.

Funny enough, those who celebrated the January 15, 1966 coup became some of the worst victims of the consequences of that action.

This is, therefore, a clarion call to all of West Africa to learn from history instead of repeating history and accusing history of repeating itself.

  42. I read yesterday's chronicle.
You people saying she should be grateful cos some are looking for a baby, are you alright?
So because someone of ttc she should not complain about the number of kids that she is about to have?
Look, everyone's problem is different, that is her own problem and it is valid. For those that were commenting as if 350k is 3.5million, if 80k is what your household lives on monthly, that is your own. She is used to a certain standard, which may shake as a result of the unplanned extra baby if there is no increase in income. We earn close to the amount that the poster earn and hubby earn and we have just one child, sometimes we squeeze ourselves to afford some basic things especially after paying a huge bill like school fees or house rent.
Poster, start racking your brains, (you and your hubby) and look for ways to make more money.
