JAMB Candidate Mmesoma Admits To Scoring 249 And Not 362

The embattled Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) candidate, Mmesoma Ejikeme, has admitted she scored 249 in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The 19-year-old had claimed to have earned JAMB’s highest score after her UTME result slip showed 362. But, JAMB faulted the result, stressing that she forged it.
Amid the controversy, the board insisted she forged the result on a template it stopped using since 2021.

Speaking when she featured on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Mmesoma absolved herself of any wrongdoing.
She admitted that the first result was wrong, and said she should not be blamed for the mixup.
She also faulted JAMB’s three-year ban on her, stressing that it was not her fault.

“After all said and done, I now saw that I got 249.
“I sent them a text message there to know what really happened — the JAMB Support System. If they go to their system, they will see it there.
“It’s not my fault that I printed my result like that, and they said that I forged my result. It’s not my fault. So, them banning it is not fair,” she said.

She's Deeper life school student, she scored 360 marks.
      She's from Anambra state.

  4. This lady knew she forged this result . It's just not enough for her choosen institutions that was why she choose to upgrade it. . The print out is an oudated one, the name of the centre she wrote the exam has been changed since 2021 but her fake printout still carries the old one. She needs to come out clean.

    1. She choose to forge it to the highest score to get her hand on the 3 million naira scholarship money from the state. And I think they got the money but of course it would be taken back to the last kobo. She should tell the truth and apologise not absolving herself of blame when she knew exactly what she was doing

    2. The first score Mmesoma saw when she checked her result was 362 and subsequent checks gave her two other figures before it stabilized to 249, which is her real score. By then she already announced she had 362. I have read other people coming out to say they checked their scores and the system gave them like 3 different scores. So obviously the Jamb portal must have been mis functional earlier on when the results were released.
The only place I fault the young lady, is her going ahead to print out the first result she got from the fake portal.
Jamb should please work on their system to avoid all this confusion.

    3. She should just come clean like the others for her own sake. JAMB has an air tight case from their presentations on different media and the Telco log.

    4. Was the 3million for the highest Jamb scorer already announced before the results came out or was it a gift that was offered after she came out as the highest?

  5. Everyone keeps seeing an underaged girl in the picture but the game is larger that what the ordinary eyes can see . The whole plot is to discredit JAMB and by so doing discredit the Chairman , Isaq Oloyede . They want Oloyede out because that man has been returning billions back to the coffers of the government . The little girl is just a pawn in this game , there are larger stakeholders with evil intentions and the overall plan is to kick Oloyede out of JAMB but they will fail . JAMB mentioned some ‘elements’ being interested in this case , now they are showing their faces . Elements that have been encouraging fraud and forgery have taken over the internet space and emboldened ‘influencers’ to spread misinformation and fake news.

  7. I read where someone offered her scholarship to either USA or Canada till masters degree..

I am seriously supporting this girl because of my personal experience. I went to print my younger brothers result few years back and saw 298. When his admission came out, I went to print another result and saw 258. If I am not the one that printed the first result. I will have suspected the innocent boy. So many people asked us to write and complain to jamb and I said no need.

How ever it goes, I wish her well and pray this serves as a warning to anyone planning such in future

You can drop your opinion without much ado or singling and attacking an entire tribe. Single out an individual and face them rather than looping in an entire tribe or race. I’m saying this because your comments have been consistent since the election campaigns and results.

      Ogbeni, take it easy.

One thing I have observed about your comment is that you're too judgemental and cruel when it involves a the Ibo tribe in Nigeria. I have never seen you condem the ills going on in your country especially when it concerns your preferred candidate. For a country to be great on hands must be on deck. You can do better! Love and light.

  10. The moment Nigerians start reasoning logically with little or no sentiments. There will be a lot of change in the country. I have been following the news right from time but I can't help but noticed how some people made it all about the minor involved while ignoring the facts of the crime. Forgetting that so many kids are exposed to crime as they grow up either through movies or environment or social mediums. They made it all about the government. Now here she is, admitting to the facts.

We get it right one day in this country.

  12. While i agree that one will want to give an innocent appearing young lady (she's been confirmed to be 19years plus) the benefit of the doubt but sadly, a lot of people's support for her was from a tribal angle even if it wasn't stated as such.
The comment of some people on this blog to any story is usually based on the name or tribe of the person involved in the story.

We all read your comments here so the pattern is very obvious now

    1. It's not from Jamb. Jamb and Airtel can't be experiencing symtem glitches at once nah. When she checked via Airtel Sim she used in registering, it gave her the real score '249' , how come she didn't parade the 249 that she got and decided to parade the 362?
And who told her she scored the highest when she wasn't declared as the highest by JAMB?
You people should learn to put tribal sentiments et el aside and learn to reason logically.

      Delete
    2. Kidjo, they can't put tribal sentiments aside. It is the parents of this lady that should put aside the tribalism the father clearly insinuated and save her from jail by telling her to come clean. She is too old for juvenile court o.

They should go the the cyber cafe where she printed this fake result to demand the truth else , despite any tribalism peddled by this case, she will have to be tried. JAMB get glitch, Airtel follow get glitch then you texted 362 back to the server to correct both glitches.

      Delete
  14. Just pray she will mention the name of the person that helped her forged the result.

I don't know how some people sleep at night with evil doings and thought 😕 😐.

  15. Smh. She must ve inflated her score just to be able to get her choice course.
They should be lenient on this case cause she's still a kid, but she should go and show the police the place where she got that fake result from.

    1. 19yrs old, a kid? She should name her collaborators or pay the price (prosecution).

    2. Your last sentence "she should go and show the police where she got that fake result from" this is what it is. Proper investigation on this case is not difficult to do, I wander what is keeping them from doing the right thing. Everybody is just judging based on assumption

      Delete
    3. A 19 year old girl is a kid? Forgery of a national exam will warrant FBI involvement in the US. She is not a minor. I got my first degree from UI, Ibadan at 19 years old! Stop tribalizing or trivializing serious crimes in Naija. It’s the reason we can’t get rid of fake drugs, fake car parts, fake and adulterated food etc!

  16. It appears she got two different scores from Jamb, the 362 first and later on, the 249. So Jamb should explain why they send two scores to one person, cos she is not the first this has happened to

    1. That’s it

    2. What language should we speak express the fact that the 362 was fake, falsified, forged, manufactured, invented, and did not come from JAMB? She and her collaborators imputed the figures they desired. Anyone can do it, just open a word document and type anything you like, gbam 396/400. In her case, she was aided by an app which has always been in public domain.
She is still saying it's not her fault she printed the falsely imputed scores. They need to impress upon her the gravity of her crime as an adult, so she can come completely clean and name her collaborators. She should face the law if she decides to be uncooperative.
Why should she face the law? She is fraudulently casting aspersions on our standardized test, simply because she could not meet up with the goals she set for herself.

      Delete
    3. SHE NEVER GOT 362 FROM JAMB. IS IT THAT YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE JAMB SPOKESMAN MAKE A CLEAR CUT CASE ON DIFFERENT TV CHANNELS? IS LIGHT THE ISSUE OR DATA? She used the same app they are all using with the same QR code and deceived the community that raised funds for her jamb because it wasn't hih enough for medicine in state like Lagos. She overdid it and got caught.

  17. Toh! Nigeria's president and commander in chief of the armed forces is currently in court for forging all the documents he submitted for elections. Every single certificate. As per, he committed forgery and perjury... but a little girl is the one blowing up the news. That is the case that should get us angry. Something is wrong with us.

  20. When people you least expect allow their sense of judgement to be beclouded by tribal sentiments you know there is a big problem. Those ethnic champions and voltrons who wanted to sponsor her abroad; how far? What is even happening to Madam Oby these days? Appears this election loss tampered with people's reasoning capacity. May God heal yall.
