Presidential spokesman, Dele Alake, has condemned allegations by Atiku Abubakar, former vice president, that the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) was plotting to undermine the judiciary, describing it as a “laughable and a jejune and ill-thought-out move”.


 Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has criticised the already suspended N8,000 cash transfer palliative by the administration of President Bola Tinubu to indigent households, describing it as “a scam.”
He said there was no certainty of an accurate and updated database of Nigerians who will benefit from the scheme.

 Members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), n the early hours of Saturday, fled various camps in Asaba, Delta State, following a joint raid conducted by troops of the Nigerian military and the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

 Youths have allegedly stolen hundreds of bags of locally processed maize, rice and other items worth millions of naira in Jalingo, Taraba State. The youths, who were said to be in large numbers, stormed a warehouse located not far from the 6 Army Brigade, midnight, Friday, and looted it.

 Enugu State government has reminded the people and residents of the state that the ban on the illegal Monday sit-at-home order remains effective. The latest directive is contained in a statement issued Saturday night by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia.

 The immediate past governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has debunked allegations by his successor, Dr. Alex Otti, that the state government was owing commercial banks under his watch. He said the N2 billion loan claim only “exists in the imaginations of the peddlers of the wicked and warped narrative.”

 The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the resignation of its National Chairman and National Secretary does not mean it is in a crisis. It also faulted rumours that the agitation for their successors had deepened the crisis, insisting that the ruling party is solid and united.

 Six persons have reportedly died after taking alcohol allegedly served by their friend in Ogbogbo, Ijebu-North East area of Ogun State. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the development on Saturday, said the incident occurred on Tuesday at a joint where the seven friends converged for merry-making.

 An electrician, identified as Tajudeen, has reportedly killed himself at Ijebu Ode in Ogun State. It was gathered that Tajudeen hanged himself in his room at Sabo community on Friday. While the reason for the act remains unknown, a Facebook platform, Ijebu Rewa, which posted the photograph of the deceased, said he lost his wife two years ago.

Suspected gunmen have reportedly kidnapped nine travellers in Oben, a border town between Edo and Delta States. It was learnt that the incident, which happened along Jesse-Oben Road on Friday night, had caused panic in the community. A hunter, Mr Obehe Adika, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, said he heard gunshots and tyre-screeching sounds from the bush 
where he was hunting around 9pm.

  2. I think the govt should set up some parliament to look into whats going on in the South East, ask them what they really want from the govt? If releasing N..kanu will bring peace pls do that. Deploying thousand of troops to that region and wasting billions all in name of combating the iPob is unacceptable. I can tell the economy threats over there already. These people deserve good life too

    1. King Jerry, the troops are needed, most of us here are indifferent about MNK, these UGM are sponsored by some high profile persons with ulterior motives. I really hope they catch and arrest all of them.
