Went with friends to a Naija Restauramt some years back, I was just shaking where i was cos of the kind of people around and the kinda noises....When we left Peckham in one piece, I swore never to go near there again...

  1. Laughing, you're right about your description Stella, I've heard same story from different people that have been to Peckham some years back. I like your dad already Naira Marley, that's how it's supposed to be.

    1. Nope you got it all wrong,Peckham is not as bad as you lot here and Stella making it to seem like,I do my food shopping there weekly,I live in London Bridge area, most of the people selling food stuff are Pakistani, not Nigerians, except for a few like BIMS,majority of those hairdressers you just talked about are Edo/Benin people, not yoruba people like you just assumed, only a few of them are,Yoruba people own multiple shops in Peckham, they operate their businesses in one or two of their shops and rent out some, those people make good money and they are not lazy, there are varieties of people from different countries operating businesses in Peckham not just Nigerians, the nail technicians in Peckham are mostly Asians/Chinese,there are Banks,eateries/restaurants,Peckham is safe, nobody would rob you there,I have forgotten my shopping in Peckham like twice, realised when I was almost home,I went back ,I found my stuff,it was safely kept aside incase the owner comes looking,Peckham is quite an interesting place ***JP

  11. A lot of exaggerations here. Was there and was expecting some of these scenarios described but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe the are of East London I visited was different. Yorubas are like that, not only in that area. You can identify us them even in Oxford Street elegantly dressed sometimes in Iro and Buba πŸ˜€

    3. Peckham is south-east London,SE15,you lot are just exaggerating making it look like it's such a bad place, the high street is mostly markets,Banks and offices,Naira Marley parents house is close to Peckham Rye station area,at the back, there are very lovely houses in Peckham on the back streets, you can say it's a very busy area, yeah I agree, what do you expect from a marketing arena? You'll always get whatever you want to buy in Peckham,it's just the best,Dalston market in East London is another good one***JP

  12. I go to Peckham ones in month to buy Africa foods, you get real fresh ugu, water leaves, uha okazi, perewrinkles, crayfish, correct dry fishes, real good tailors that sew traditional attire. The place always remained me of most nigeria markets. But not a good place to stay. Na Ajegunle of naija. Na there you go see court guys, drug sellers.

    2. Anon 16.50,where do you see the drug dealers and cult guys cos I've never encountered none and I have lived in this UK for 25years,Peckham is somewhere I go regularly to shop for food stuff, there are a few junkies that hang around begging for money, they do not rob people, and they are not Nigerians, some are oyinbo,Russians, like those none English speaking funfun,Peckham is where you'll get your food fresh to stock your freezers at home with all sorts of Nigeria varieties,Peckham high Street is a very busy place not rough, hustle & bustle goes on there not thuggery ,to top it all Peckham police station is just a flash away from the market area*****JP
