Mercy had a chequered childhood, frustrated years followed because her parents weren't"up to the task". There are so many like her who grew up in the hoods,didn't get any hug and had no one blow them kisses,sing them a lullaby to bed and ask after their welfare.
Now she looks forward to it from her immediate family ,the way a baby girl looks forward to her chocolate and Barbie dolls.
Probably each time her daughter raises her hands in the air,Mercy expects a rush and a hug but she faces her daddy's direction. Sad reality.
There's an emptiness inside of Mercy.
Look for it.

I reckon she's saying that you should sort your childhood traumas and whatever psychological issues before having kids so that you can give and receive love and provide your kids with a wholesome childhood so they don't turn around and bleed on innocent people in the future.
DeleteHer story about comparing her child saying "I love you" to her and her husband is just to show that she healed from past issues and has since become whole so she's able to receive love from her kids. Moreover, hearing her child tell her she is loved, which she would've been indifferent to before, is now so important to her.
