DSS Reportedly Searches Lagos And Abuja Homes Of Suspended CBN Gov Emefiele

The Lagos and Abuja residences of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, have been searched by officers of the Directorate of State Services, (DSS).

A family source of the detained technocrat, who asked not to be identified, spoke to THEWILL on Sunday and confirmed the searches.

The source said the Abuja residence was searched on Sunday, a day after his arrest, while the Lagos house was searched on Thursday evening, through Saturday morning, saying the men of the DSS left around 2 am with their detainee back to Abuja. The source said both the Abuja and Lagos residences still have a heavy presence of the operatives.

“In Lagos, they took away his old phones including a Blackberry, some files and office folders, as well as his old laptops. Godwin was present when the searches were conducted”, the source said.

The family source, who had a firsthand account of the searches, said everything the DSS wanted was put in a Ghana-Must-Go bag and taken away during the Lagos search. “They only left with one small Ghana-Must-Go bag that we gave to them to put the things they wanted to take away. They did not see nor take away money as there was no significant sum in his room or house. It was in his Abuja residence that they took away his wristwatches and N250k in cash, which they found in his bedroom”, the source told THEWILL.

The source confirmed that Mr Emefiele is now able to see his lawyers and wife, Margaret, who had tried unsuccessfully to see him since his arrest, until Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court, last Friday, ordered the DSS to immediately provide him unrestricted access to his family and lawyers, saying it is a fundamental constitutional right of the detainee.

THEWILL also can report that the DSS during the week searched the office of Mr. Emefiele at the headquarters of the bank in Abuja, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the development.

  1. When will they search Buhari's children homes both married and unmarried ones?

    What about Humanitarian woman's houses?

    What about Malami?

What about Tunde's recharge card's house?

    What about NPA's boss' house?

    What about CBN deputies'?

All of them should return 50% of what they stole, that way some things can be fixed with the money collected.

    1. Very big lie o. Same old propaganda. They have been circulating many false stories just to rile up people's anger more against him, like they initially said he was attempting to escape through land border when they caught him, while the truth was that he was blindfolded and abducted from his home in Lagos in the middle of the night, not while attempting to escape any land border.
Now they have searched his houses, looks like nothing substantial or tantalizing like billions of currency under his bed or in a bunker was found (like some past government officials / governors we know of) that they could use to make noise. I hope they did not plant anything in his homes. I don't trust these people.
Looks like they were looking for electronics so they can probably prove he was after Tinubu during the elections. Na them sabi.

I also do not believe these trumped up allegations of him being a sponsor of UGM. All lies. They know who the real sponsors are and by God's grace, they will eventually pay for their evil and the many lives affected.
This man did the bidding of his principal, to his detriment. Many people suffered because of the last government's policies. The buck always stops with the Oga pata pata at the top, or it should. But, the kind of county or society Nigeria is, we never hold those who should be held accountable, accountable. starting from the topmost. ALL of them should be held accountable, not just him being used as a scape goat.
I, shall only siddon dey look them make them dey act films, I am not convinced with their new escapades, because they are extremely selective about it. They should do it to all of their gang that cause the wahala and not just selectively pick those to punish.

    1. They have already given them the opportunity to hide anything incriminating. even if they search their houses at this time, they won't find anything. What they should do is carry them too to DSS and investigate them.
