Apostle Chibuzor Versus Happie Boys Brouhaha

Lets do a playback...
Do you remember the viral video of  two young men who were sacked by their Employer Chicken Republic for dancing on duty and posting the video Online?
Hmm, they have fallen out with the man who rescued them from Joblessness and sent them to school abroad.

Apostle Chibuzor of OPM called the Happie boys and gave them full scholarship to study in Cyprus after they were sacked but 8 months into the scholarship, exchange rate went up, and he could not continue with the scholarship so he told everyone under his scholarship programme abroad to transfer their studies to Nigerian Universities which he would continue to pay for....

The ungrateful Happie boys called out the Apostle on the social media for abandoning them in Cyprus and trying to use their glory to shine. They shared their conversation with him on Instagram and he has placed a curse on them for dragging him to the Internet and telling lies

THIS IS APOSTLE CHIBUZORS CURSE ON THE HAPPIE BOYS

"I place this curse from the pain in my heart that doing good becomes evil. That whosoever, no matter who that person is, that I used...He didn't pay one kobo, he didn't spend one naira, it is from offering and tithe that people drop in the altar. What other pastors use in buying private jets, I say let me use it to help you. "Now, I do you good, you use evil to pay me, you will remain poor forever. You can never achieve anything in life. As long as, whether anywhere you are, you will suffer poverty. You can never achieve. You can't even buy one plot of land. "If there's other clothes you've bought through the money I used in sending you to Cyprus, you will sell those clothes to feed. You will become so wretched."

  3. No matter the anger and provocation Apostle Chibuzo shouldn't have cursed with the same mouth he's using to pray and ask God for blessings. He should have handed them over to God to judge them. See,in this life if you're helping people do it bcos you're doing it for God not to expect gratitude from the recepient bcuz most humans are ingrate and will only use you pending when they will get better alternative before dumping you like you were never once their helper.

Even their family couldn’t advise them. How do you think the pastor will feel, even his church members. They don’t have sense. I expected the black one to be more reasonable being that he looks like someone from a wretched home but I was completely disappointed. The pastor better force them back before they commit crime and put him in trouble. Unserious boys

    1. They rejected their return tickets to Nigeria. The same people who said they're suffering in Cyprus don't wanna come back home. I think the reason is cos, no matter the sufferings one pass through abroad, they still believe it's better than been in Nigeria.

  5. I wouldn't wanna type much but just some few things to say. Pardon me should in case I write more than I anticipate.

My respect and appreciation to the Apostle and General Overseer of OPM for his great humanitarian works to Nigerians. He has done very well and posterity will be kind to him.

However, it is important to also advise him but before doing so, I will like to say at first, I don't think he's a good planner and researcher. I have my reasons for saying so and I will explain.

As an accountant, with a knowledge of Economics, I will say, before I embark on a project, I first of all check the cost of it, secondly the sustainability of that project and it finish cost. I don't just dive into a thing cos I have the start up capital. What then happens when material cost skyrocket or when I run out of funds due to some hitches along the line.

Those guys would have gotten a better education here in the country and not necessary mean they should or must be flown abroad. Don't we have quality private universities or even state universities in Nigeria? You'll even be shocked to know that the money spent on their travels and the eight months in Cyprus will be enough to get them to graduate in any of the Nigerian universities.

Secondly, you don't promise a total scholarship to people mostly when they're being taken to schools overseas. The reason is that, our currency is at the mercy of other developed countries and definitely, a time will come when you won't meet up to the initial arrangement.

Even at a point, Rivers State government once stopped their funding of its students in Russia and they became stranded. If a government became handicapped on scholarship, how much more an individual who depend on the offerings, tithes and donations from his members.

Outside offering, tithe and donations, what other businesses does he has or run that generate huge inflow of money? So if these donations and offerings reduce and drops so low, how does he meet up with the over hundreds of scholarship he has awarded to people overseas?

You don't invest, plan or even embark on any project with the hope on people's donations or benevolence. You must be wealthy by a profitable business of yours running actively.

I don't actually know of any known business attached to him but I will recommend he build for himself a strong mega business enterprise as to create personal wealth. I often heard him say, all he's doing is from the church's offerings and donations. Meaning, he has no other sources of financial support business wise.

You see why I said he's not a good planner or researcher. He should have done due diligence about things like this. I think there should have been committee handling that aspect of his humanitarian works that will always report to him realities on ground and not him been carried by emotions all the time trying to help out. Some people are even saying he's chasing clout with all that and also disparaging other pastors by taunting them with his kind deed.

I think I will say, It gets to a point, where intelligence will override emotions. I think that's a part of him he needs to work on. Not every cry online should be attended to or every dog that need to be fed. Some could actually be a trap. He acted too hasty on those guys assistance. You don't quickly reward bad behavior without reprimanding it. The boys weren't even remorseful of what they did in their place of work that got them sacked. That's the same character they have exhibited today towards him.

  6. Thirdly, from the word get-go don't promise a life time help to anyone. I see him doing that always. Give people a headway or start up, so they can plan the course of their own life themselves and not depend solely on a promise made to them. Nigerians are a bunch of people with entitlement mentality.

Everyone mustn't go to school(tertiary) in life. Good he has skills acquisition centres across states in Nigeria. He can still train people on skills as well.

Finally, he need to work on the 'PRIDE' in him. He has a good heart, but he always sees himself as better than the rest of them at the pulpit.

There are good numbers of great humanitarian wealthy men and women we don't hear or see boasting about their kind deed or assistance to the poor publicly. In fact, they will tell you 'Don't mention' they don't showcase themselves. I have watched him severally called out other pastors who don't tow his path 'thieves' and 'criminals'

    Was that necessary????

He's a good father and kindhearted but in doing that, he shouldn't seek validation as a reward or cast aspersion on others who aren't publicly giving or towing his path.

As for the curses, I wouldn't tell him how to react. Even Christ when he felt disappointed, cursed a fig tree and the next day, the tree died. So I will say, he's entitled and responsible for his actions as he deem fit.

The pastor reversed the curses and asked them to come back to Nigeria or Benin Republic and continue their education and they categorically said in a video that they are not coming back to Nigeria. They even told the pastor to "dey his dey" and stop sponsoring them.

These boys are ungrateful, nobody is perfect but you don't disrespect your benefactor for whatever reason. Why didn't they tell him from the get go say school no dey their mind? Than using his resources to travel and be living like celebs in Cyprus?

I know someone that had been rusticated from 2 universities in Nigeria and had a chance to travel for schooling, the first thing he did was to send all his savings for his friend to buy car for him, I just knew that this one is looking for where and how to ball.

They need to read some accounts of ladies and even guys that entered Europe through Libya and those who are still stuck in Libya to know the kind of opportunity they messed up. I hope their online fans will continue from where Papa OPM stopped.

    1. This is the basis of my writing above. Extensive planning and researches matters a whole lot in a project. There should be specialist handling his humanitarian works. There are even better schools in most African countries that aren't expensive like Europe or America. Even here in Nigeria, we have Covenant University owned by a fellow Pastor. He can even reason with the owner on discount if need be. There are also other great schools here as well, thereby growing the economy of Nigeria than growing other countries economy.

    3. @Binam,

I will do that but in doing that, I will make it open to the public for a day like this and in order to set the record straight. He shouldn't have ignored them like people are insinuating and alleging.

He should have let Nigerians know the same way he announced the scholarship and cite his reasons.

Was he ashamed to do so?

If all these didn't happen, there will still be the impression that they're schooling on scholarship on his account.

He should even be grateful it happened this way. What if these guys had committed a crime and there sponsors was sought after? Cos people will still believe they are under his sponsorship.

Yes, what the boys did was very bad but if you say you are a Christian then you should be guided in all your actions by what the Bible teaches. James 3 Vs 10 says it's wrong for curses to proceed from the mouth of a child of God.

Pray that they repent and leave the rest for God to handle. Las las, God dey reward both the doer of good and the doer of evil. He knows how to balance the equation.

    2. Hmmm...I'm so shocked at some BVs' points of view. Blaming the pastor... Really??? He should be counselled to review who and how he helps but don't ever discourage a philanthropic person because they are few and far between. How many really affluent people do we have compared to the population in Nigeria? How many are interested in helping people?

Chai...ladies and even underage girls are in connection houses in Libya, all sorts of men use them everyday and mark exercise book so they can finish paying a madam as she must recover the money she spent buying them from a bugga (some of whom were even deceived, betrayed and sold in prostitution).

These boys saw someone that took them abroad on a platter of gold, no strings attached and they are saying he wants to use their destiny (destiny that they were using to do security guard in Chicken Republic and even got sacked), travelled and started clubbing, failing all their courses and living a wayward life.

Anybody blaming that pastor has either fallen into this pattern of always attacking pastors or hasn't really helped people to understand ingratitude, entitlement mentality and lack of emotional intelligence. Let them continue as content creators or any other hustle they see, I wish them well. Maybe the people supporting them can start gofundme for them.

    3. S.Chic,
"Who no go no know". So it is said in the Delta side. With some people benefited, their behaviour and payback is as if the Devil comes up in all rage from the abyss.
But the Bible says to pray for them. Truly that prayer is worse than a curse.
Recently, a man I had benefited very well - stayed on my land free for over 3 years, fed from the economic fruits on the land and from fees I paid him - betrayed me by assisting in pointing out a false boundary of the land and in the forcible taking of a portion of my land by co-landlords. I was very angry. I prayed for him that no person born of man and woman would do to his son what he did to me. He could not answer amen to the prayer as clearly good as the prayer.

      Some people are really wicked.

  19. I think those boys acted foolishly by posting videos of smoking and "living the life" on Instagram, when they knew they were being sponsored.
Apostle Chibuzor on the other hand get im own, cos why does he hop on every trending issue and give bogus promises that he cannot keep? What exactly is his motive?
As a minister of the gospel, is he concerned with winning more souls with his giving or getting public validation and painting himself as a saviour?
I read where he was complaining that he was sponsoring over 4000 people abroad and it has become tasking for him, but who send him??
What is worse is people receiving help from questionable sources, help on zero basis. Not every help is worth receiving!

Besides, I have a theory that people who make a public show of philanthropy are trying so hard to mask their dark lives behind the scene by 'helping the poor' and making a show of it..

  20. Many lessons to learn from this story. The boys lack wisdom and character, and I want to say it may be upbringing, but there are poor kids without parents who are much better behaved. Secondly, can we Nigerians stop rewarding mediocrity and poor character? Their lack of work ethic should be followed by discipline not a reward. Thirdly, I think scholarships should be 'earned' no matter how small. Either merit or need based. Let them write waec or jamb or SAT and make good grades before awarding them a scholarship. For need based - still, let the kids write an essay or statement of purpose before awarding them a scholarship. Let them think deeply on why they are getting the education and what they plan to do with it. Don't just dash them money. I do this with my young relatives. I make them write a letter for every big gift I give them...
