Apostle Chibuzor Berates Late Deborah Samuels Father For Viral Interview And Offers More Help

The Foundation for Investigative Journalism recently interviewed Mr Garba Emmanuel, late Deborah Samuel's father, who revealed that all was not well with them as Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere reneged on most of the promises he publicly made to them.

The interview went viral and got to the ears of the Apostle who called out Deborah's father during a church service and berated him for granting such interview.
He expressed concern that people would think he didn't do anything for him and his family.
Despite his displeasure, he asked Mr Emmanuel to move his family from their current apartment where the rent has expired to the mini estate that was promised them initially.
He also made prompt arrangement to repair the faulty Toyota Corolla vehicle that was given to him for taxi driving.

Also I believe his welfare workers are not doing well at all as the Pastor may not be aware of some things. Can they just go back to their state

    4. Honestly I dont even know what to think about this, but why does this pastor do the most, why did they have to call you out in the first place? Haba these people have gone through enough for this to be happening. You can relocate them to cheaper christian states like Kaduna, Benue or Jos where life is a bit less expensive.

  4. So it took the interview to get this done? But the man narrated that he had gone severally for assistance to the church but to no avail.

Mr Emmanuel, you too hustle like a man and stop acting like a baby. Na PH you dey so and not Niger state. You mustn't be spoon fed all the time. I also hope you know you'll be paying your tithe as well so the blessings go reach others too. Save money and don't depend on freebles all the time.

    1. This is not fair to the man if he can't help them he can still asked them to return to Niger and helped them to setup things in Nigeria , port Harcourt is more expensive but because it is the pastor that asked them to relocate to a new environment what if the man is not the hustling type ; I think the pastor should not act on emotions weigh the implications of help he is rendering before pronouncement ,there should not be competition about helping people after it is not the increase in dollar rate that caused this one abi

Enough of this insulting advice of hustle to man who was responsible for 7 children without begging or stealing before someone came to uproot then with false promises. The pastor should apologize and retrace his steps. Deborah's Dad is not one of the happy boys.

  5. All the charity works is to lure more donations from individuals and foreign charity organizations. Income: $2m. Total expenses: $200k. Profit: $1.8m. So philanthropy is a good business model for the church considering that no audit is ever carried out.

The man has no huge immediate responsibility except to buy data and such small things.
He even said the car was initially working for a while before it developed faults. Who knows if he even caused the faults.
Las las the pastor has a heart of gold and may give the mini estate and repair the car. If papa like let him misuse it like the car and grant another interview without realising he is making himself look like a yeye and ungrateful person. The man is not disabled o!

@Zara the matter tire me. He had no huge pressure like rent, school fees, furniture's and provisions. The car is not on lease, what he earns is his own pocket. Mama Deborah has an equipped restaurant, no payment of rent, what she earns is her own.

If all this is not enough, they should go back to a more familiar, cheaper place and rely on whatever to maintain his wife and children.

All those chanting grants should provide evidence that the pastorman was given 1billion dollars to give the family of Deborah and they chop am run the family street...do this and my opinion will change.

  9. Ingratitude of the highest order.

A man relocated you and your family from a place where your lives were threatened, paid a year's rent for you, put your kids in free school and gave you a car to start bolt biz and food stuffs to start life and I'm sure some money too. And this is what you have to say in return?
You still expect him to come pay your family's bill the next year and subsequently, still bring food for you and repair your car when it's faulty.
Because you did what for him pls?
    He married your daughter?
    You trained him in school?

These are the people that stops others from helping people in genuine need .

    3. We saw pictures of the "estate" during the "hand over" to Deborah's father. If that compound was never given to him, why publish pictures of the man and the welfare crew from the church in front of the house and claim it was handed over to him? That is deceitful because we thought he would be taking rent from his new tenants as the new landlord. Very deceitful ...

    4. Which car? It is easy to say. I bet if they give you a problem vehicle to use for business you can't magically make it yeild any income for you. Go and verify. 6. I decided to bring the full interview here so you all can see.

11 months after the OPM pastor came into their lives, the family said the landlord told them to renew their rent or leave.

The family of the late Deborah Samuel has cried out that they need assistance as things are not rosy for them in Port Harcourt.

Recall that in May 2022, Omega Power Ministries (OPM)'s founder, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, promised to relocate the family to Port Harcourt after their daughter, the late Deborah Samuel, was lynched by her schoolmates on May 12, 2022.

However, Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) recently visited Deborah's family in Port Harcourt and discovered that the reverse was the case.

In a detailed report, FIJ spoke with Deborah's parents and learned that the apartment was not free of charge.

“From time to time, the OPM leader used to call to check on us. He paid the rent. Right now, the rent for this apartment has expired. The landlord has told us to renew the rent or leave.
“All the appliances and the equipment in this apartment belong to OPM, we don’t own it,'' late Deborah's dad said.
OPM paid for a year's rent, and their rent expired in May 2023. we also gathered that the landlord was harassing Deborah's family for rent renewal, not OPM.

As regards the new car that was promised, it was discovered to be a second-hand car that had seen better years and was now abandoned due to faults.

      Deborah's dad, Emmanuel, said:

“The first time we got here, OPM got me a car. It was a Toyota Corolla, but it wasn’t new. It was a fairly used vehicle and the car has developed some faults.

"I was using it as a taxi before but it has some challenges and I have parked it. The first time OPM brought us to Port Harcourt they brought food items to us. After that first time, we have been struggling on our own.

"Right from the day OPM gave me this car, the car has been developing faults. On the first day I tried to take my children to school the car broke down on its way back. We towed the car back."

I am not and never will be a mean person, but a grateful one. I read his full interview and had a different opinion from yours. How does that make me mean?
I am a very grateful person who believes no one owes me. As such, any little assistance I get, I am very thankful.
And if it stops or dosen't get fulfilled, I don't blame them. I look on and trust God.

I CAN NEVER EVER bring down someone who gave me a cup of water. Even if our relationship turn sour in future or if he takes back half of the promise. Because he doesn't owe me.

I do not have entitlement mentality.
Since the conditions weren't favourable, why didn't he go back quietly to Niger and leave the failed promiser to God?

And for the record, that's not my church.

It's your Pastor that jumped into the matter and made massive promises.

We all saw the promises he made about gifting them 14 audio flats that they should be collecting the rent forever, why only move them to the flat after being called out?
And to clarify, yes their daughter was killed in Sokoto but they lived in Niger state where cost of living is quite low, until Apostle brought them into the very expensive PH.

  16. There is no point fixing that car. From the naration of papa Deborah, that car, even after fixing it will develop another fault . The car is dead. You have not seen what people with that kind of car go through. A sincere mechanic will advice him to sell the car in parts because visiting the mechanic from time to time will drain his little savings and that will be too bad.

Personally, I don't believe that this pastor will fix this car properly as he has stated here . He will fix a little thing and come and announce to us that he has put the car in good shape. I thought he would expose his P.A as the person he handed over the job to who defaulted in his duties. Thank God you have made us know that you were actually the brain behind the whole deceit. You didn't even give them the mini estate as you made us
believe. Renting of am apartment for them is not bad anyways, but why did you give them so much hope and ended up doing something else behind the sense? It would have been understandable if Deborah's parents defaulted in one or two things which pushed you to withdraw the goodies you promised them. These are no qualities of a representative of Christ on earth. What can I emulate from this kind of man?

If we can't vouch for our pastors as being sincere, who then can we vouch for? What a shame to Christianity. The other people will be laughing at the religion called 'Christianity' .

  17. I think people should read what was promised, what was delivered and put everything in context without emotion or religion. I’m born again and rarely publicly criticize pastors so this isn’t a critique but an honest review. It’s the reason politicians deceive many πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬s with crumbs. They don’t deploy critical analytical thinking skills. They throw crumbs because you won’t demand the meal they PROMISED. It’s about “what was ordered vs what was received”. It’s about keeping your word. The internet never forgets.

In the immediate aftermath of the mindless murder of Deborah by Islamic fundamentalists, there was a GLOBAL outcry of sympathy, many churches were contributing to care for them in their grief. Even in the US, many churches were going to contribute, some were going to set up a go fund me for this family and relocate them.

Then this man came out, riding on the waves and STOPPED real long term help from reaching them. He said he GAVE them a block of flats and they could live in one and collect rent from the others, that there was an Uber car (everyone assumed it was a functioning car) for the man to generate income etc. Many of us were relieved they were taken care of, but now we are finding out it was a rental, he paid a year’s rent and no block of flats was ever GIVEN! Let’s stop being emotional. He blocked their real destiny helpers as many wanted to even bring them over to the west in the outcry that followed. This same man is involved with those kids in Cyprus. I know if you are a generous soul like mine it’s hard to believe folks can take advantage of a tragic situation but hear them out! The man was taking care of his family before. The Bible says let your yea be yea and your nah be nah.

If you are one of those who wanted to help them at the time of Deborah’s murder, please help them. This πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ tactic of audio help, of saying you own a house then later knowing it was rented, you got a car for Uber that doesn’t work stopped real help from reaching them. I won’t be suprized if they were used to raise $millions here. I attend a big mostly Caucasian church and many developing countries pastor come with stories of those they are sponsoring and collect money to “continue to do good” not knowing details. The interesting thing is that many of those saying “don’t help the poor, they get entitled “ etc are considered poor by global standards of at least about N5m equivalent per household of 4/5 people (as poverty threshold)! Yes. You referring to them as poor are considered a poor man or woman by global standards even with your “good Tokunbo car & inverter or generator”! So stop being condescending towards a family that has gone through so much trauma! Why do our people sympathize more with the rich or powerful over their fellow masses? Ekweremadu case comes to mind. It’s bizarre. Adjacency or association with the rich in your mind doesn’t make them treat you better as your leaders! The man was not a beggar.

Tragedy that became global news befell Deborah’s family and he was used for clout or maybe even worse, maybe fundraising and abandoned. It’s the reason Jesus said to give without noise. He would have gotten more help & not felt this sense of abandonment if the Pastor didn’t make noise about his “good works”
He sent his kids including late Deborah to school. Let us fear God as Nigerians, especially those that claim to be his own. We shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ.

      2. She could withdraw her offer if the beneficiary defaults or even forgive the defaulters and give them a second chance if she wishes and no reasonable person will
condemn her for her actions; now tell me where Deborah's parents offended this acclaimed pastor?

      3. Stella could inform us that she wants to work with some bvs who meets the criteria for it, and when she finally picks the persons who showed themselves up as the most qualified bvs for the job and she starts working with them and along the line she discovers that those people aren't really meeting up with the job demand, she can decide to withdraw her exquisite promises to them and it is not a bad thing if Stella gets angry at their poor performance.

There are other genuine reasons why Stella didn't fulfil some promises here and they can never in anyway be compared with this wicked actions of this church owner who claims to read the bible everyday and can't practice what is in it.

  19. How do you pick up someone Abi a family from the north where standard of living is minimal, take them to p/Harcourt where standard of living is high and then open a restaurant for them as a source of income? I ain't saying food business is not lucrative, it is but what do you expect her the cook????????
You forget every region has particular meals that are staple meals there. Is it the northern style of cooking or dishes you expect her to prepare in portharcourt? Who'll patronize her when there are better cook around with experience as regards preparing staple meals the people there like.
My 2 cents is he'd have relocated them to a northern state, that way resources will be easily managed as standard of living is not high here.
A good example is KD, you can prepare a pot of soup 2 people can eat twice with 1k.
    Meat 300
    Fish(shawa) 300
    Okro 100
    Ogbono 50/100
    Iru 50
Maggi and oil suppose dey house, you can even use the 150 left to buy garri for ena if garin tuwo no dey house.
Tell me how possible this'll be in p/Harcourt?
I hope he sits to think and plan before jumping to help the next set of distressed people he plans to help.
For the car issue, my boyfriend bought a car with faulty engine, it was one issue to the other. The moment money enter him hand that car must find a way to chop it. Imagine someone whose main source of income is driving a car like that, to God you won't be able to save Shishir. It's good he granted that interview. Help has come.
Maybe he even complained but nothing was done that's why he granted that interview.

They say a close mouth something something. One proverb like that

Wishing him and his family the very best.

  20. In America a vocal promise is legally binding in some states, so one must be careful of promises made publicly. There was the case of a man who promised his church a substantial amount from his lottery win. When he failed to pay, the pastor sued him and won the case so he had to pay up.
