DIARY OF A PREGNANT MOM

For about a week or so, I wake up like an alarm around two to three am to pee but I end up in the kitchen with huge portions of food and i eat...
Sometimes I cook a whole meal because I can't help it, imagine eating amala, stew and ewedu at 2am

I have tried stopping it but I cant sleep if I don't eat , I will be so hungry and start crying till I eat. On the flip side when I eat, I also can't sleep because I have to stay up for like two hours because of heartburn caused by eating such heavy meals.
I have stopped fighting it and instead I have started stocking up on quick and easy meals that require less prep time so I can go to bed on time.

This is all new to me because I have never been the kind to eat for two in my previous pregnancies.

I am tired but not in a rush to meet my baby, because new born phase is another drama on its own.

Nah wah... so so complain but if you born finish now see gbola you go run abi you go stay chop am? hehehehehehhehehe abeg i cant laugh

HMMMM!

One evening, my neighbor, who had become a close friend, approached me in a state of desperation, explaining that our landlord was on the verge of evicting him.
He revealed that his rent was overdue, and due to losing his job a while back and falling victim to a Ponzi scheme, he lacked the funds to renew it.

My heart went out to him, especially since we were tight in the compound. Without hesitation, I offered him accommodation.
I followed him to his house and what I discovered shocked me. His home was almost empty, as he had sold off all his belongings. I was really emotional and later that night, I cried inside my restroom quietly for him

People are really going through a lot but they come out and put up a smile so you would never know the hardships they are enduring.

I took him out that night and we drank, ate, danced with some pretty girls and had a good time. I made sure he laughed and enjoyed himself.

For the next three months, I provided for him, lending him my clothes and giving him cash daily. He ate well and never lacked anything in my house. I made sure he was very comfortable in my place while I revamped his CV, optimized his LinkedIn account and crafted a stellar cover letter for him
I took his resume and his cover letter to all my friends, submitted his CV's to countless companies and encouraged him everyday

One morning in the third month he woke up and told me he was tired of Lagos and had made up his mind to leave for his hometown in Onitsha

I thought he was joking till he began packing his bags. I pleaded with him not to give up but he started crying and said he couldn't take it anymore and had to leave but I shouldn't worry, he will be fine with his family

When I saw that he wasn't gonna change his mind, I dressed up and wanted to follow him to the park, he refused, and said he didn't wanna be a burden to me anymore
I insisted, he refused and left alone to the park. I called him later at night to check on him, his number was switched off. The next day, I called again, his line was still unreachable. For the next three days his number wasn't going

I started panicking and since I didn't know any of his relative, I called the landlord and explained things, maybe he has the number of his next of kin I could call to confirm his whereabouts

My landlord was surprised, said he never asked him to leave, and infact my neighbor just called him one day and said he wasn't gonna renew his rent. My landlord said he was even surprised when he heard he had moved in with me and just assumed we decided to be roommates due to economic circumstances.

As I dropped the call, confused, and surprised, I went to his Facebook and saw recent pictures of him in Germany.
Baba had relocated to Germany.
The clothes he wore on the day he left my house were captured in photos taken at the airport.
I chatted him up and just asked why
He replied, "you don ever see person wey dey tell person say dem dey travel out?"
I blocked him'

I am not in support of such behaviour but people are wicked and if you hear stories, you will not blame this guy who ran off without telling his helper...

    1. How our parents lived is still a surprise to me. Taking off and visiting a sibling or relative inter state and being told the person they went to see just traveled yesterday? Things were done at great inconvenience and discomfort then. Or relatives showing up infront of the door un announced? Things were done in analog way.

    2. Showing up unannounced my sister and our parents didn't turn them back instead they were welcomed with open arms, fed, clothed, some sent to schools, some put to learn trades etc. Doing all these without complain o, haba! So many inconveniences during their time but they kept their heads up and conquered. Now we're adults and begining to see some of the things they saw. God bless them abeg.

Bro,One of my paddy didn’t know carrot is used to make stew until he ate ours and asked for recipe.

Funny enough since I met my wife till today;we have not cooked any stew without sliced or blended carrot and Green pepper..

Gives the stew a very different flavour;me likeeyyyy😊😊

But is it that the beans stew Stellz is talking about is gbegiri? I don't understand o

      Delete
    5. @Ali B and Bemorebliss,it’s the normal stew process,just a tweak.

      You need:

      Chicken
      Fresh tomatoes
      Carrot
      Green pepper
      Curry(Ducros)
      Benny
      Mivina
      Fung Yue
      Spicity
      Onga
      Rosemary
      Tin tomatoes
      Onions
      Crayfish
      Fresh Pepper

After boiling the tomato and all,you add spices and just few minutes after steaming it,you add the blended carrots with sliced green pepper, then your chicken..

Allow everything to steam and enjoy..

NB- for a paint of tomato, carrot of #700(lagos price) is enough..

Do have a blessed day ahead..

      @MARTINS

  6. Do you know how to jump start your car when need be? because, so many people has destroyed the car's brain box during this process. It just happened to someone now and I tend to educate us in here about jump starting your car.

    imagine we have two cars

*One is dead and the other is the Donor.
let me give the battery head a number

Number 1 is +positive side(battery head) of the dead car

Number 2 is +positive side(battery head) of the Donor

Number 3 is is the - negative side(battery head) of the Donor.

What you do is, you connect the jump starter red wire on the positive head of the Donor and connect the other end to the positive head of the dead car. Then , you connect the the black wire of the jump starter wire on the the negative head of the Donor and connect the other end to a metal close to the dead battery instead of placing it on the negative head of the dead battery.

there is always a metal close to the battery or the metal thread rod holding the shock absorber.

connecting Red on Red and black on black most especially if the donor is switched on can give a double charge on the dead car's brain box making it to fuse.

There is also a procedure in removing the connected wires.

please take this from me, though, I don't have a car now but I have some helpful tips about them due to my experience

Thank him so much for everything, then after travelling, tell him the truth and make every effort to keep contact and return the favour any way he can, he just used the guy and didn't even appreciate his efforts, this is why many people hardly help nowadays.

  47. About the guy that travelled out, my neighbour did something similar to me and it was to same Germany he went to.

I was sad when he told me he resigned from his job cos of poor pay, didn't know it was cos he had plans to travel. I took his details and helped him apply for a grant. When he scaled to the final stage, I called his line to inform him of the things required for that stage. His line didn't go through for days. I went to his house and met his brother who told me he travelled to the village. The brother gave me his other line and I called but it wasn't going through.

I became afraid thinking he had been kidnapped cos his village is known as a place for kidnapping operations. Prayed he was okay and also prayed he will come back before the deadline for the submission of the documents.

Logged into Facebook days later only to see this guy in an airplane, went through his wall and realised he had travelled out. Chatted him up and he yarned dust.

I blame am? I no blame am. Na me wan be good neighbor.

  48. Nigerians do this a lot. Even, boyfriend or girlfriend will travel out without telling his or her partner. At least you can inform that close person after getting there, abi they will use juju to pull you back to Nigeria?

  51. We should ban our kids from watching music videos pls. What is all these?
Naked girls holding and smooching each other, licking and kissing, all in the name of music videos. Naija music videos are not left out. Abasi mbok!

    1. It is too much and too bad. Aside the videos, most of the music have lewd lyrics. I cringe seeing kids suggestively dancing to and singing these stuff. I posted a comment on this under one of Davido's stories on this blog and the comment was not approved. It seems censorship is dead in Naija. Anything goes.

  52. I am deeply saddened by the loss of US embassy staff.

Isn't it funny how they imposed visa restrictions on people truncating democracy and next thing, they killed US embassy staff in Anambra state. Hmmmmmmmmm

  53. I understand why some keep mum about their travels. I remember the story of the nurse bv that travelled to UK and was deported when she told them she had been hospitalized for seizure or something (can't remember what). I hope she is ok.

    1. Being superstitious should not make you a heartless greedy imp who denigrates a landlord's character then defrauds your neighbor with lies going on months. Even the traveler want known to be evil, he could have squatted with a relative but it's clear he had burnt bridges there with his evil character

If that guy was kidnapped or killed on his way to the airport, no one would have believed that the man housing him had no idea. He would have been torn to sheds by the same BVs that expect to have a fatal flight and believe that witches will bring down the craft on their first time in an airplane on their way to go and live with gay atheists who they condemn but will be telling you that what their Jesus cannot do does not exist.
