Former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the incoming Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara also received the honours at the State Awards and Pre-Inauguration Dinner held at the Banquet hall, Government House, Port Harcourt on Saturday.
The recognition was the highest of four categories of awards conferred by the governor.
One hundred and sixty others also received the second highest honour of Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS).
The third category, the Governor’s Medal of Service (GMS), was awarded to 15 individuals, including some security details to the governor and drivers in his convoy.
The Rivers State Medals Award (RSMA) — the fourth category of honours — was conferred on 11 persons, including five dedicated primary school teachers.

At this point, I will say that Gov. Wike has lost it all both in reasoning and in actions.
ReplyDeleteConferring honours to two governors, Kaduna and Imo whose states are bleeding is the height of insensitivity and a joke taken too far. It would have been understandable if it was Gov. Zulum of Bauchi state or even Umahi of Ebonyi state who did great in their respective states.
Well, I was expecting anything less from him anyway.
Hahaha, you really take this politics serious. Do you think Wike doesn't know what he's doing? In politics, they say there's no permanent friend or permanent enemy, there's only permanent interest. I await how things will unfold in the next couple of weeks or months
