ReplyDeleteLet me be clear, a man telling me straight up we are doing 50/50 is very different from a man being a man and me supporting him.
Yes I fully support a man that knows how to be a man first by taking care of his responsibilities like I take care of mine not a boy telling me it’s 50/50 by force. If I’m already doing 100 alone which means I’m the man and woman myself which is not a problem for me as I look after myself real good then pray tell what’s the point of being in a relationship with a man that makes no differences to my life? I cannot drop my masculine energy I must continue to still be man and woman in a relationship makes no sense to me.
A woman is a helpmeet so let me do that in the relationship not the man dictating from jump it’s 50/50 y’all can keep that and drop me out.
Nobody should come under my comment and say oh but women want equality. I’m so sick of men twisting feminism and equality. Feminism and equality for women because only applies in THE WORKPLACE that women should have equal opportunities, equal rights and equal pay IN THE WORKPLACE it has NOTHING to do with relationships so please stop running with this false narrative about women wanting equality in relationships. Google is free.
Lastly let people have their preferences and run their relationship how they want to.
Nothing bad in that. Hubby still picks up the bill till date after 17yrs of marriage. Better state what you want from beginning.

They bash women for saying they don’t want to be 50/50 partners financially but how dare a woman not wash her husbands clothes, clean up after these men, Make sure the house is sparkling clean. Have kids for these men to continue their legacy, take care of the kids, make sure you look good and be available to him sexually and also be a co provider?

How many people have Elon, bill gates or Jeff Bezos gone to harass for giving them one thing or the other? Focus and make something of yourself rather than fretting that a man in a station far higher than yours is unable to recognize the inside value of his shoe and accord her that respect.

It's good that she is upfront about her financial expectations in a relationship/marriage so that those ones that want to split Amala and ogunfe bill with women at Tantalizers or Iya Basira's buka can keep looking for their spec. Everybody will find their own as long as they are patient.

If men are totally honest about their finances, a good woman will run the home without hitches or unreasonable expectations. For instance, If the total cost of running your home is 200k per month and you tell her upfront that you can provide 120k monthly which should make sense if your salary is 250k and hers is equally 250k as well. You do not need to mention adding 80k, she already knows she'll sort that because a responsible woman knows she must pull her weight at home without being told but don't make that a condition for dating or marriage especially if na you dey toast me. If a woman had the option between a bill-splitter and 100% provider, who do you think 99% would choose?
In fact, if someone asked me out on a movie date and mentioned that "rubbish", I'd go but we'd sit apart throughout the movie so that I can enjoy my money in peace. You cannot be holding my beautiful hands and famzing a babe like me at the cinema when I paid for my ticket and popcorn. I will not even review or discuss the movies with you afterwards.
