It was mixed emotions for the family. While on one hand, they were joyous she lived a good and fulfilled life, having passed on at the ripe old age of 83, they were on the other hand, sad that the late octogenarian who was a rallying point for the family was no more.

The following day, Friday March 28, there was a brief lying-in-state before a funeral mass which was also held at the same church. Interment followed immediately after at the family residence at Ishiekpe Quarters, Isele-Uku, Onicha-Ugbo.

The bereaved family contracted Apams Funeral Homes, one of the foremost funeral homes operating in the South East and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT to handle the burial process.

Reception followed immediately after at Austyn’s country home where he feted dignitaries from all walks of life such as Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Publisher/CEO and Editor-in-Chief, ThisDay Newspaper and founder, ARISE TV; Olumide Akpata, the immediate past president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA; Kingsley Obiora, Deputy Governor in charge of Economic Policy, Central Bank of Nigeria;Executive Director, NIMASA, Rt.
