Nigerias EX VP Atiku Reacts As US Secretary Off State Blinken Calls Tinubu

Nigeria's Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to details of a call between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Nigeria's President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Daily Post  had reported that Blinken during a call with Tinubu on Wednesday assured the Nigerian President-elect of the U.S. commitment to further strengthening the U.S.-Nigeria relationship with the incoming administration.

The Secretary noted that the U.S.-Nigeria partnership was built on shared interests and strong people-to-people ties and that those links should continue to strengthen under President-elect Tinubu’s tenure.

But Atiku in a tweet on Wednesday expressed disbelief, saying the call was a contradiction to the publicly stated position of the US on Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election.
According to him, acknowledging the 2023 presidential election result can be demoralising to citizens.

“I am in disbelief that @SecBlinken called Tinubu, a contradiction to the publicly stated position of the US on Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election. This is inconceivable considering that America, as the bastion of democracy, is well briefed on the sham election of February 25.

“To give legitimacy to the widely acknowledged fraudulent election in Nigeria can be demoralising to citizens who have hedged their bet on democracy and the sanctity of the ballot @StateDept @POTUS @USinNigeria.”

  1. APC keep adding to the speculation baggage they are already carrying.
Apart from this fake call, what's with them refusing the live broadcast of the tribunal proceedings?
Why not let the court decide if they would allow it or not?

To support APC is serious hardwork , I can't deal.

    1. Can you prove it that it was a fake call? The same Thomas of your kind were in doubt when TINUBU's name came up as one of the 100 most influential people in the world and your favourites were not mentioned. Losers have been known to be lamenting and you and yours sincerely have proven that to be true!! Sorry for your loss, Tinubu remains the President elect of Nigeria. Eni amo ri oba ku

    2. Atiku is fraud and we all know that even the US would rather work with Tinubu than Atiku-Obi in one piece! They both contested 2019 and lost woefully, they didn't call on US not to congratulate Buhari. How does one even think that all these fractions of different political party coming out of one party will yield positive results at the presidential level? Common comrades! The election was won because of the vulnerable situation PDP/LP placed themselves. May GOD bless the President Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
