The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the Lagos State Police Commissioner of Police to arrest afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti with immediate effect for assualting a Poilce officer as soon in a viral video...
Just slap and they are calling for his arrest? I wish the IGP will react this fast when his men kill Innocent Nigerians!
Anything goes in Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteBoth of you will most likely be wrong. I can't believe you have not figured that out.
DeleteNice one IGP
ReplyDeleteHe crossed the line
He should be arrested, what he did is very wrong, no matter what the police officer did, he has no right to slap him.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what he did... are you sure about that
DeleteNo matter what?!
DeleteI have since so many angles of this incident, its like all sides kuku just brought out to camera to dey film dey go
ReplyDeleteAll these ones na yarn you just dey yarn. How I wish they'll actually take this matter to court after investigation.
ReplyDeleteThey should make him an example.
Femi kuti crossed the line regardless of what the officer did. He should be used as scapegoat for others who want to tow his path.
ReplyDeleteThis is how rumours start. It's SEUN not Femi.
DeleteHow is Seun now Femi? Even if you don't know what they look like, the post has the Seuns' name on it ππππ
Deletevery good... this guy is so uncouth!!!
ReplyDeleteHe needs to let go of hard drugs
Hmmm
ReplyDeleteNa here we de watch the drama
ReplyDeleteWatching the disgusting video, the only one that compose himself is the police officer staying calm in the face of aggression and humiliation, he can as well use his weapon and everyone will be calling for his head. Seun is very stupid and should be prosecuted. I mean Aunty Yeni and Brother Femi are very humble and down to earth person. What's wrong with this you don't know who my father is boy?
ReplyDeleteExactly annoy, very uncouth young man,the police man,was too calm.
DeleteThis one na family affair, e no concern me
ReplyDeleteSeun took it too far, slapping that police officer was wrong, but did you guys noticed the way he rudely asked that lady exposing her breast back into the car?
ReplyDeleteBut seriously any man that can't be controlled by his woman when he is angry is very bad, your woman should atleast have 80% right to calm you down when you are angry.
The lady is allegedly his wife…sadly she could not even get him to see his folly because maybe due to weed.
DeleteThe officer was calm because of fear, he had just rammed into an expensive Mercedes (big man’s car in Naija) & was probably scared of the consequences. If Seun Kuti had calmly taken his name & details, not slapped him, the officer may have lost his job due to their usual over speeding that can cause loss of lives.
Slapping him in uniform is bad for society cos of copycats just as police brutality from Akwuzu to Ajah where many innocent people have lost their lives is horrible. It’s also bad for police to assign cops to “VIPs” to carry purses, it’s very similar to the optics of the slap! However it’s false equivalency to equate a single civilian slap of a cop who was initially wrong to horrendous murders & assaults by the Nigerian police! They aren’t equivalent actions so folks should stop sympathizing with corrupt cops in a corrupt society that aids rigging of elections, murders, loots etc. while arresting folks who steal grocery items partly out of poverty.
My guess is that he will get off with a slap on the wrist fine being a Kuti and the officer gets propped up financially by those who dislike Seun Kuti for his personality & politics, who are already asking for his account no due to his “calmness”! Overall police are more brutal than one civilian slapping incidence. I don’t trust cops here too! They are mostly trigger happy! He was calm because he was afraid of the damage his speeding to nowhere caused an expensive car but Seun Kuti was wrong in his reaction. Over speeding by police kills even in the US hence the potential harm to his family.
They may be very few but I’d like to think there are cops like the Sabo, Yaba policewoman who tucks in for kids en route school, gives them clean socks & practically “mothers” them while standing cheerfully at the intersection. I have read about her online “mothering” of kids she doesn’t know! God bless her!
Mr Seun Kuti needs anger management classes plus rehab while the Nigerian police needs a complete overhaul. It just seems many naijas are very angry including the ones with money, it’s scary. They also “worship” luxury cars because of repair costs & pamper cars. It was a dent & he should thank God it’s not in the US where they replace but not repair. A teenage driver once crashed into my Porsche & they literally fixed it for $12k because they replace they don’t panel beat or patch up here, thank God for insurance but you still pay your deductible. I was thankful to God for life as it was the driver side. We just called the cops & took pictures for insurance who fixed it. A car is not worth assaulting anyone for.
It's only in Nigeria that policemen re not respected, try this in the USA you are gone.
ReplyDeleteLol that’s not true
DeleteWatch YouTube yo see what us police tolerates
Respect is earned just like trust. Question is, has the Nigerian police earned our respect on a general level? We know the answer.

DeleteWell ,The videos of police violence is more than the videos of what the police tolerate over there, Did you see the one where about 5police men tortured one Tyrone guy just because he was dating an ex gf of one of them?
Nigerian police nor do reach them that's the truth.
Stella, did you say just slap? What if the officer had retaliated by using his riffle? He's a police officer for God's sake, while assault him? If he had any evidence that the officer almost killed him and his family, he should report it to the appropriate authorities than taking the law into his hands. That was very uncalled for and he should be arrested
ReplyDeleteππΎππΎππΎ
DeleteSeun has no right to raise his filthy hands on an officer of the law . He's fond of acting as if he's untouchable.
I think the cop was a driver of the pickup in the video. He may not have been armed… thank God no life was lost in this instance though, considering their trigger happy behavior. His calmness may be because he was not armed.
ReplyDeleteWhat he did is so wrong. There is nothing I detest as slap. Laying hands on a full grown human like you is got to be the highest form of humiliation.
ReplyDeletePolice went to his house this morning he don japa
ReplyDeleteSlapping a police officer in Nigeria is the easiest way to incur gbese. You will may through your nose to settle the case. The "slappee" will table his demands, his oga will table his, oga's oga will table his, slappee's colleagues that were eager to bear witness that you had a gun you did not have will table theirs and the list goes on.
ReplyDeleteSeun Kuti should watch it. He's going off the handle these days. What he did to the officer was assault.
