Some of my friends would call and be like, "since you started making money, you just forgot us". Did you remember me and I said you should stop? And I'm the one who picked my phone to call you.
You think I don't have a life outside of the friendship?
That actually takes me off and recently I find myself gradually avoiding that kind of friends. It's very annoying.
Did you check on them too?you guys know how you flow before the money came into the picture so what changed?

Nigerians should stop this mentality. Pls be the friend you expect others to be. Check on them as well, pray for them, and forgive them. As I always say, women easily forgive men who beat them, cheat on them and treat them as trash and even take these men back, but will never forgive a female friend who maybe didn't check up on them for a minute. That apart, why do people easily forgive 'poor' friends who never check up but will be so mad at 'rich' or successful friends who failed to check up? The crime is the same. Or maybe their success makes you feel inadequate? Why do people always use that line of because you're now rich, because you're richer...thats not right, pls let's be gracious to one another
ReplyDeleteAnd pls, when someone's circle expands, the time on their hands become much smaller, it's a fact of life. My network increased massively in the past decade - I know how incredibly busy I am now, how many more friends I have made and need to check on, compared to years ago.
It is normal to feel inadequate about a friend whose fortune changes overnight. But instead of allowing the devil to make you feel inadequate, realize how lucky you are! It is your friend on the billboard, in the magazines, in the movies, getting an award. Move closer to them, call them, check on them, congratulate them on the success, on the awards, and someday ask how you guys can work together. Also realize that a lot of people will be in their corner now, and they need prayers to know whom to trust. The success always comes with challenges so know that lufe ain't perfect for them either. Go and listen to Apostle Joshua Selman on the ministry of friendship. So many people lost chances because of bad advice from jealous people who would still not help them. Don't be waiting for your friends to fail so you can laugh on the side, that's wickedness. Remember - That's your friend, keep her in your circle. Na still human beings God dey use to answer prayers!
