Actor Ibrahim Chatta Talks About AMVCA Snub

Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has said he perceives his exclusion from the annual Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards as a conspiracy .....

He said, “My exclusion from the nomination list didn’t make me feel bad because no matter how hard you think you are working, your mates are also working, and the best has to be picked every year. But my problem is that they don’t invite me and that looks like a conspiracy against me.
“I understand that it’s not everyone that gets nominated into the categories, but at least they’re supposed to invite me, but they don’t. So, I do feel like – is it that my works are not worthy enough? Because I used to see my younger colleagues, including those that just joined Nollywood, all showing off in different outfits at the event.”

Chatta said he would not allow any award prize to affect his craft, adding that his target was to win an Oscar before departing from this world.

  2. Chatta my man🙌 . He should have won best male or supporting male actor last year for Jankariwo but they gave it to Odunlade instead. Odunlade and Femi Adebayo are great and versatile actors but Ibrahim Chatta is head and shoulders above them still. He should be doing English movies too because he speaks the language quite well which is another point in his favour.

Na AMVCA snub you but God and we your fans no snub you. You will be super-celebrated when God says it's time.

    1. @Amebonawork, your last paragraph sums it up perfectly. Ibrahim, if you could see this, know that you are a consummate actor who not only gives life to whatever character you play, but also bring your audience into each scene. The sky can only be your launchpad ... Òlòrún tì gbogo fùn è!

    1. Chatta is one of Nigeria’s best actors. See, this guy can literally bring life to any character,if he should play the role of a pastor today, you go think say chatta na Christian, if na babalawo nko, the guy dey there, English nko, they guy can speak it well too.
This guy is good in his craft, I think he should go out more and socialize more because I don’t think it was intentional but maybe he doesn’t really cross their minds of people who readily jumps on their thoughts when they think of people to invite.

  6. If this guy lived in a country without magomago,Hel contend for best actor every year.Talk about someone who is versatile, can be old,can be young, can be grandpa, herbalist, pastor, alfa, can be good, can be bad. He’s too 3 best actors in Nigeria if you look at the whole body of work but there’s too much corruption in every aspect of the Nigerian system.

  11. He said during an interview that he wasnt privileged growing up and he only attending primary school. He said he learnt English on TV and on the street. He speaks better English than Lawyer Adebayo oga bello son. He is versatile and looks good for someone in his almost mid 50's. He owns a ranch and has horses with breeds from all over the world.
