Who has seen gangs of Lagos? What is the movie about?
All these Nigerian local movies that went to the Cinema and allegedly raking in over 600 million individually, who has seen them? Can you tell us the movies synopsis'?
What other movies can you recommend? Please oh, if you are recommending a movie, give us a little hint on what to expect, i can still hear all about a movie and still watch it and enjoy it, I hate suspense!
Not happy to say this. But it's my first Nigerian movie in years. Wow 😋 the styling has changed from the early 2000s. Very happy for the growth and development.

DeleteNew Nollywood is doing very well indeed. Just watched The Trade and enjoyed it. Also enjoyed Jolly Roger. They have really grown.

I watched gangs of lagos and I must say , its an amazing film. Kudos to Jade Osiberu, once again she has proven to be an amazing story teller and also a wonderful director. The cast brought their A game. Except for the child actor that acted as Oba, I think there's still room for growth.

DeleteI watched a Tanzanian movie:Married to work.Quite interesting.
Will watch "A simple lie" ft Bisola and Bolaji Ogunmola tonight.
I love the fact that the different roles were allowed to thrive and the story didn't focus on just 1 person throughout, the others had lots of scenes to shine too.

Teni is such an obnoxious fellow, why was she acting like she didn't know her luxurious lifestyle was being catered for by the people her father used ehn, I liked when Tobi asked her 'shey you dey whine me ni?'

Downloaded it yesterday, only to find out mine wasn't subtitled. I still watched it like that and still enjoyed it. Will look for the subtitled version later.

Cocaine bear- A bear mistakenly takes cocaine and the rest is chaos.
Here love lies - first time I’ll see Tope Oshin act rather than direct and she didn’t disappoint. Excellent movie. The twist at the end 😳

ReplyDeleteStill can't get enough of operation fortune ruse de guerre, it's director guy Ritchie is the reason why I started paying attention to movie directors.
ReplyDeleteCreed III is fantastic also,has to be my fav creed movie. That guy Jonathan majors is soo good and intense. He makes a very good 'bad' guy 😅.
Finally watched a man called Otto and of course cried at the end.
Shotgun wedding was a waste of my time, ridiculous storyline and plot. Dnt knw why I can't seem to love jlo's movies (still haven't forgiven myself for that marry me movie🙄)
Magic mike's last dance, another waste of time. No be every movie must get part 3,4 etc.

Operation Fortune - Amazon ( this movie had one of the best opening sequence I have seen in ages. It plays on your ears in a good way)

The boy that played the young Ify character (He was more believable to me than the young Obalola character.)

Chioma Chukwuka (her reaction when she saw the body of her dead son was believable.)
Chike (He did well but was better in Battleground. Maybe the script limited him. I hope he acts more movies.)
Zlatan did very well. He should act more movies.
The girl that played the young Teni character.
Adesua also tried.
Black Kamaru. Oh my. His last two scenes even in the face of death made me laugh.
Pasuma tried as well.
I hope they do a sequel. I already have ideas for it.
The trade. Another fantastic movie. Loved the dance between Blossom and Nengi. Stan Nze was very believable too.
93 Days. Not new but I just saw it recently. It's about the Ebola virus containment in Nigeria. Bimbo Akintola, Keppy Ekpeyong amongst others embodied the characters.
I will recommend drishyam 2 it is a crime investigating film, it is a bollywood movie season 1 was interesting and this season 2 is very nice
