Yesterday, I said it wasn't fair a man willing all his properties and assets to his mother. What if something happens and he left before the wife, how does the wife cope in raising the kids when she's not entitled to anything the husband has.

What we are saying peter is if your wife wan divorce you now and claims for half of all you have,how will you feel. It's not a out suffering, it's the betrayal that is painful. I can't blame Steve Jackson, why didn't she sign before the wedding. I liked her terms (No cheating, a house in her name and others) .It's so sad it didn't work out. She started crying and was under duress and in that state you can't sign a PRE-NUP.

A friend of mine bought an expensive piece of land in Aba, Abis State, some years ago, and gave the documents to his married elder sister to keep for him. He lost his job years later and needed to sell the land to start a business. He went to the elder sister to get the documents but story entered it. The elder sister's husband few years back was able to convince his wife to release the document to him so he could sell, travel abroad and come back for her and their kids later. The husband sold the land, collected the money and ended up being duped. The husband is still stranded in Cote d'ivore till date.
I will never give anyone any document or money to keep for me, not even my wife, parents or siblings. My properties are in the name of my kids.
Reminds me of our townsman who pushed drugs abroad and kept sending money to his married sister to keep for him, then later asked them to build him a house, nothing less than 50m.

The woman would have spoken to him but since he cannot keep his thing on one place she want out. To her the only way to feel better from the hurt she got from him after giving up her name, body, soul, shape just to be with him is to ask for half of his property. The woman is also comfortable so do not think she cannot survive without his property.

She came for the money and nothing less. At 19 he was a kid, naive and could barely have made a proper decision about marriage.
