  1. Thank God i don't have nosy neighbours. But then, i am also not a nosy neighbour. I don't even like going to people's houses and i am not particularly fond of people of coming to my house always either. Once in a while is okay but too much and i will ghost you. I like my space and peace and don't intrude into other people"s space either. I do likely to be friendly with my neighbours and have lived in a compound for about 8 years now without having any issues with anybody because i hate drama and quarrels.

  2. There is one here. She can gossip and lie for naija. She knows everything that goes on in the neighborhood.
She lost her hubby recently and I don't even feel pity for her. She had said many horrible lies to people about me.

    1. Very smart. Make peace with your neighbors no matter what. You don't have to be friend her or him. But act friendly to them. Here in western neighbors don't know each other. Some even hate each other.

  6. I had a neighbor that her children will start shouting, fighting and crying from 4am till you leave the house. The increase their tv volume to the highest and shout as they watch. You come back tired in the evening and still.meet same noise with their mum shouting once in a while. I have thought of leaving the compound several times because of.their noise.
My cousin and her four young children came to.spend last midterm break with me. What I saw within this two weeks, my mouth cannot say it.. Since they left, I have developed one serious love for that my neighbor. God bless mothers especially those that have children in nursery and primary schools.

  8. My father came and built his retirement house in a place full of nosy people. Lowlife people they want to know everything about you and compare with their miserable lives. I tried a salon in the neighbourhood and realised she was overcharging me. One was being nice to us thinking we will hook her up with our brother, my brother got married to someone else she became hostile to us. Is it how they dump refuse any how? I so hate this place. To think he had other options... he didn't even seek our opinion.

    1. I guess that location was what he preferred. Keep ignoring the hostile ones and do not draw anyone around there close or even let them have access to your house.

  11. I've been pretty lucky with neighbours all my life. I don't go to neighbours apartments and not that okay with them coming to mine.
But when we have events we attend each other's events.
If I'm to pinpoint my worst neighbour. It'll be one nosy lady like that, and she is PA to a celeb. But I snobbed her before we parted areas.

  12. Previously; I had excited neighbors not nosy.
To the left a pure bred oyibo married to a Nigerian Yoruba medic and to the right,an Efik married to an Igbo merchant. She taught me lots of traditional values and custom.
The oyibo carved a chef wall(small sliding window on the wall) that's where she peeps in to make hilarious remarks like "ofe onye go?" Then passes her mini food flasks. As in "soup don done? Haha. We got tired telling her it's Oye go?
If she sights me plucking plantain leaves in some place within the neighborhood, she's following me home to book her own okpa one time. Haha.
The efik lady got obsessed at some point, what I worked hard at was keeping our kids off the relationships because that's where wahala starts.
    Happy happy neighbors.

    Currently? Jehovah!
Some here literally CRY when you drive or walk past.
They just hate the dark or brown skin color. Chineke Nna! 🙆

  14. I live in the UK and my landlord lives next door to me. He is a paki guy and so nice him and his wife. My landlord takes my bin out for me on bin day since I moved in over 6 months ago. Infact I don’t even know bin day because he will take it out and take it back in for me.

I don thank him taya, even on Christmas Day he gave me a gift and I made sure I reciprocate and gave him and his family a gift too.

I have never ever paid my rent on time I always pay it days in advance because of his kindness.

Last December the fridge stopped working and I texted him straight away he texted me back that he can get it changed that I should message his handyman which I did and he got it changed to a brand new Fridge for me.

My landlord is so kind and very humble, the house next to him he owns it and the house next to me he owns it too because his mum lives there.

  15. I'm beginning to appreciate communal living now. I used to see it as people being nosy and overly lacked sense of privacy.

Back then, I lived with my brother in a public compound. Here, I will outline the advantages and disadvantages for me.
    Disadvantages:
Lack of privacy- Everybody wants to know what's up with you even in matters they can't relate.
Sharing of items- Nothing is annoying to me as sharing items especially very personal ones, there's always that one person that would want you to borrow him/her items. In worse cases they never return it.
Quarrel- You will always see one or two people quarrelling over one thing or the other.
Noise- They can't respect that one wants to meditate to at least keep their voices low.
Dirtiness- This is the most disgusting of all, keeping the toilet messy and some people even messing the walls with plasters of dookie...to be continued jare. I have something doing

  16. Where I live, everyone minds their business. We only meet and greet at the gate. Big compound but quiet, neighbour can drive pass, just wave at you, he won’t even give you a ride.

  19. We have one that can't mind his business. He feels he can tell the men how to love their wives. His illiteracy is on another level. He started misbehaving where I am and I showed him pepper. He is now minding his business and respecting people's wives. Obata osu.
