  1. Nicely said!!!

If they can't see anything evil in all these ethnic profiling and the thuggery orchestrated by the ruling government of APC and some PDP politicians, then I'm afraid, they could even kill anyone.

    7. Milkshakes they don’t want to talk about the violence in the SE. PO went to vote in Anambra, Ini Edo went to vote in Akwa Ibom but to even fight for good governance in the SE they keep quiet, criticizing Lagos gov for Endsars when the sars in the SE is still actively killing then & Ipob dictates their market days! Many read about the sit at home & violence in the SE & don’t want it to spread like kidnapping spread to other areas! Yet you are more concerned about Lagos, wanting to dominate others from The North, to SS to Yorubaland! It’s not easy. Since Bible times there has been fights over land so no group will just allow you hype mediocrity into the leadership of their state like that.

FYI only Lagos island was federal capital territory. Those saying Lagos state was developed with federal money. Ikorodu, Epe, Ikeja, etc are Lagos State. Lagos State WAS NEVER federal capital, Lagos island, Ikoyi, VI was. That is why you have Dodan Barracks, former State House, Marina, Federal Secretariat etc on the island. Lagos State is a Yoruba state composed of the Epes, Ikorodu, Badagry eguns etc! You can’t dictate to Yorubas which of their 4 sons to pick in an ethnically sensitive country & continent.
You all use šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øas example but if you are a student on F1, a professional etc on any type of non immigrant visa, you PAY taxes and everything but do not qualify for Medicare or Social security until you get a green card or citizenship which is based on each country’s priority date. For some Indians & Chinese on EB-3 that could take twenty years before they got to vote for the first time! It took me 6 years on H1 to get a green card and 11 years to become a citizen. I never had a vote, never voted, I paid taxes. Up till now all citizens in DC (District of Columbus) have no Senator or congressman. They are still fighting for it. I was high earning so if I had returned to Nigeria in those 11 years, I couldn’t benefit from all my Medicare/SS taxes . Then I had no vote though I contributed to the economy of the city and state. Imagine watching tv daily, hsving opinions on the politics & not having a vote? Yet immigrants anre only too grateful to be here. You learn humility when you migrate so I hope many get to japa! Ask all the Indians & Chinese in Tech, healthcare etc still on H1 visa! On voting days you mostly see white & blacks voting, even those on welfare, the Asians (even some brain surgeons are on the line) have the longest citizenship & green card lines and you cannot vote until you become a citizen here. It sucked but I was grateful to God and to šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø and was so excited that my first time voting was for President Obama! Should we H1B high income professionals have started a mutiny since we paid taxes, sometimes more than some low income šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø due to our higher income than a few šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø? Self evaluation is very important in life. Aggression is so common with folks from the SE that even here more of the šŸ‡³šŸ‡¬ DV cases are between our SE men and their wives, why? Gra-gra doesn’t get anyone far in life! God gives grace to the humble.

You think any area man or thug or shilla boy fights for free?

Because you see politicians shine teeth and hug each other, you think they are cool with themselves?

It won't be too far fetch to believe that some of those hugs are deadly and avoided by some. If you know, you know.

Even when politicians cross carpet, it is another act of w@r.

Nigerian politricksians afight See the way they quickly turned the voters on themselves. A person who is not violent will never send another on violent errands. A person who sends another on violent errands will do it personally if sure of escaping punishment.

But with people like you, tribalistic bigots, shallow minded dimwits, short sighted assholes, Nigeria will not get it right. Ancestral territories are emotional issue from Bible times. Joseph was prime minister in Egypt, helped them survive famine but years later, exodus happened as the children of Israel were NEVER Egyptians and didn’t claim to be as prosperous as they became before the “king who did not know Joseph” enslaved them. Ndigbo needs to start telling themselves the truth. As to Yorubas, let peace reign. Do not stop welcoming outsiders. Do not allow thugs re-define the traditional Yoruba hospitality of centuries.

I paid millions every year in tax when I was in Lagos. It annoyed me when I go through the toll everyday. You basically pay for services that the state should have provided with the tax. I left and I'm glad I did. Imagine being surrounded by so much hate by people that want to move to Canada, US, and other countries but cannot stand someone they deem not to be from the same tribe as them existing and voting in a state they are legally allowed to live in as Nigerians.

    3. Violence and thuggery are totally unacceptable. Cyberbullying is also unacceptable. However, it seems those crying tribalism are the real bigots. If you were a hiring manager in a private sector in the West looking for a manager for Lagos state, who will you pick?

The guy with virtually zero managerial experience? GRV supporters are the ones not interested in MERIT. All they seem to care about is linguistic affiliations which is sad because I thought like the west, we want the best man to win. Btw Funsho was my preferred candidate, not even Sanwoolu but their resumes are so much better than GRV that it’s a no-brainer.

    4. And GRV with poor English and zero managerial experience as Lagos govenor is how Nigeria will become westernized? I used to think all southerners were more merit driven until now. In which universe will GRV even compete with the other two? Point one finger of bigotry and the other four are pointing at you for supporting this guy whose poor spoken English undermines the narrative that he grew up outside Nigeria. His English is poor, even his brief speech yesterday had grammatical error.

He should be an executive assistant to someone like Funsho Doherty in a normal society. Accusing Yorubas of tribalism because they voted PO but rejected GRV is not fair. Yorubaland produced the first in every profession in Nigeria and had railway, TV, University etc before other regions. It’s not the kind of place you will shove an inexperienced, mediocre candidate using an MIT degree as a cover to hype him. Before any insults on how much better than me he is, Funsho was my colleague in a global multinational decades ago & I also attended an Ivy so go figure.

People must learn to understand that democracy allows for pluralism of opinions.I will never understand why anyone would want me to accept his/her political choice while he/she does not even want me to have a contrary opinion ,let alone air one. With due respect,I am one who does not believe that Obi is a unique candidate in the Presidential election.By my training and experience,I am weary of people who always say the right words during political contests.Obi,like most politicians,is an opportunist. He saw the growing popularity of the End SARS movement and quickly lashed on to it.At every opportunity he had,he presented himself as the panacea to the leadership problems in Nigeria.A man who could not transform Anambra state as a governor for 8years now wants to transform Nigeria(a more complex institution) into heaven on earth, yet people believed him(which is okay, really). But to allow the rest of us who chose to be circumspect about his credentials the simple honour to make our choices in peace, hell no!I didn't vote during the election because I was out of the country at that time but in all honesty,I was very happy Obi lost because of the rude, uncouth and divisive attitude of most of his mob.

Then we saw the true nature of the “PO movement”! They cyber bullied PO supporters who were not GRV supporters. Look at the resumes of all four top candidates and tell me who you will hire to be CEO of the fifth largest economy in Africa! The guy is so light he cannot even give a 10 minute speech with no grammatical error. Yet the likes of this musician who disliked his Yoruba sister in law for tribal reasons for years wants us to put his mediocre candidate above more qualified ones? In Lagos?

You all visit Dubai. 89% of investments in Dubai is by foreigners but only the 11% who are from Dubai are in government of Dubai. Dubai works! Why should the onus be on the Yorubas out of 200 ethnicities to take a less qualified candidate just because he speaks fluent Igbo? The guy’s English doesn’t even show that he has lived in the US before, no offense. Mediocrity is wrong and using reverse psychology to call those who didn’t vote for him bigots is a non starter. He isn’t qualified, simple. Gov Adeleke is half Igbo, Governor Akeredolu of Ondo state is married to Betty, an Igbo lady who is the de facto ruler of the state since her husband’s illness. I guess igbos thought they had assimilated and been accepted into Yoruba land like Lagos where about atleast 48percent of families are of either Yoruba or igbo parentage.. Yoruba people showed you thought you’d all wise up after Biafra. This is the proverbial fool me once shame on you fool me twice… well you know how it ends… my advice to the igbo people, let go of sentiments and align yourself to tribe/people that understand what LOYALTY mean.. I didn’t expect Lagos to turn in the igbos as they did but most popular igbo politicians who are part of the ruling class understand this hence why they always says igbo land is not ready for presidency..

  17. Reverse psychology is accusing Yorubas of tribalism just because they choose one of their more competent sons over a mediocre one preferred by you due to language & maternal affinity. You cannot burn yourself in cold weather to keep your neighbor warm! They had 4 Yorubas and chose the second most competent (I’m a Funsho supporter) but you are the one who wants to shove the one you have maternal & language affinity with down their throats.

Do a self evaluation of why you are domineering. In every relationship, domineering folks act like you are crazy for not wanting to be bossed around. This is not different. If you are only going to be friendly with folks you can dominate you won’t have friends. The north persecuted you, SS doesn’t like you, now Yorubas! You may just be the ones that need self evaluation. The obsession of SE with a light resume GRV made some SW PO supporters start thinking there was a deeper agenda to dominate. Stop trying to dominate others, you think you have more than Yorubas in Lagos, you do not, trust me! Even Dangote is very humble when dealing with his hosts but some make little change from spare parts and get puffed up! You have no idea how rich some Torubas are from Lagos to London! The first black to marry into the royal family was not Megan marke but Marchioness of Bath, Dipo Jayesimi, an unsung Yoruba billionaire’s daughter 12 years ago. She lines in a 112-room home in the UK. Tope a Yoruba guy owns Calendly, a $3bn company here, another Yoruba guy owns Therapy brands, founded by him in Alabama! Yorubas are less into importation but money has been in the Abeokuta-Lagos axis for centuries. You just use the agberos who aren’t only Yorubas to feel better or richer! Mike Adenuga, Subomi Balogun, Fola Adeola (GTBank, the first company founded by Africans to be used as a case study at HBS), and so many rich Yorubas don’t make noise because it’s not necessary. Be humble like we are when outside the country. That I live in a million $ home doesn’t make me claim I own my city! Obama had to humble himself with the real owners of Chicago like the Hyatt Family, Valerie Jarrett, etc to show he can be trusted. That is how to play politics. He didn’t start at the top was a community organizer, a UChicago professor, Illinois state senator, IS senator then US President. When he was president, if Obama was due to give a speech everyone rushed home or recorded it! He prepared, it’s not importing spare parts that is economic development or building with imported materials, it’s manufacturing! Less aggression, more humility, less ego so you don’t go around quarreling with every other ethnic Groupon their ancestral lands. Btw land is leased under the law from the state government so check your c of o before claiming ownership of any state.
