May said yul promised her / never mentioned marrying another wife and it’s against her faith. Ned on the other hand has always made his disposition & position known.

Pa ned has always been polygamous and he has been advocating for polygamous to be embraced and practiced by the South South part of the country. Regina is about the 4th one, she obviously knows that tomorrow Pa, might decide to marry more wives.
Unlike Yul who went to chop and got hooked, and to save face and to legitimate the process, he hurried turned polygamous, while keeping the wife in the dark the whole time.
That to me is a whole world of difference.
