No light, I for like listen to Baba wey Sabi play.
ReplyDeleteYes. I watched it(somebody had to do it). In effect, old 500 naira and 1000 naira remain illegal tenders. Old 200 naira notes will be pushed back into circulation until April 10th.
ReplyDeleteI used to doubt that politics was behind this currency redesign. The president this morning, cleared that doubt. He actually is doing this to prevent politicians from buying votes. No politician has bundles of 200 naira notes stored up. They certainly didn't see this coming.
Sadly though, it appears he is not willing to respect any judgement of the supreme court concerning this matter.
@DogA 17.?In line with Section 20(3) of the CBN Act 2007, all existing old N1000 and N500 notes remain redeemable at the CBN and designated points."
DeleteI don't think this means that 500 and 1000 are still legal tender
He said 'illegal tenders'.
DeleteNo light to watch. I hope he will give the go-ahead for the continued spending of old notes as they refused to release new notes into the economy. This madness needs to stop.
ReplyDeleteIt is well
ReplyDeleteHopefully something positive.
ReplyDeleteBlessed morning blog visitors 🥰
Stella babe 🥰 blessed morning to you.
Yesterday was something else.
We dey God hand.
Old #200 notes remain a legal tender till April 10,the rest old notes should go to the dustbin or take to cbn and go explain if its stashed.
ReplyDeleteThe greedy politicians that stored up 💰 for vote buying didn't see this coming, this actions of the president is to avoid such, please people let's be patience with him, he knows what he's doing, at least let this be what we can say we gained from this administration
ReplyDelete👍
DeleteBuhari no send anybody ooo. This is good. Old N500 and N1000 notes is no more legal tender. Vote your choice.
ReplyDeleteKai Buhari is not their mate. They should go and explain themselves with their bags of N1k and 500 notes they have refused to return.
