STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
URGENT ADVICE NEEDED
Good day Stella, please treat as urgent.
Seriously i have been thinking about this for so long now, please i would like to get advice from you and B.V as soon as possible. I got two offers to teach in primary school, one is a school that just relocated opposite my house and the other one is a school that has existed since with much populations though not too far from my house, just like 5 minutes walk.
I resumed with the old school last week but the new school proprietress pressured me and I quit without properly informing them, just giving them excuse upon excuse. Though they are still waiting for me to come back. In the old school, they have 2 teachers in a class and the work is not stressful just that my second Teacher is lazy from what i observed in the few days that I worked with them, so I assumed maybe they're all the same with the fact that the proprietor is not always around and I think they might be neglecting pupils there because they are much.
The salary is the same but the old school is giving teachers 60% of lesson money but the new school is not giving only the salary.
The new school have a good settings but they don't have up to 10 pupils in the school and I have only one pupil in my class. there are alot of conditions like, submission of phones, not eating except when the pupils are eating, not going out even during break time, resumption time is quite too early and all that. But the proprietress kept promising this and that, she seems to be a nice woman, coupled with the fact that the school is not far from my house.
My main reasons for writing this is that i am scared of unknown, I don't really know which one to follow, i have asked my pastor and he said i should go for the new school but trust me, my mind is in the old school but my only fear is that I might get a good job tomorrow and taking my children to school might be stressful and crossing of road is involved.

Stella i am just confused, please which of these schools will you advice me to choose?
Thank you so much and remain blessed.
In cases like this, you stick with the one that gives you most Joy and peace of mind...Dont choose a Job because of money. choose the one that has opportunities to make you grow.
I pray that you make the right decision...

The school has a longer life span
More money

Teacher abeg brush up. Haba na wetin you go de teach de write like this. Go with the Devil you know oo.
DeleteFrom your write up, the old school is preferable.
ReplyDeleteAlso, to me, I don't like working in a firm, school or organization opposite my house cuz of see finish.., the same thing church..it's a no no for me
My poster I think the old school is better.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the new school.
ReplyDeleteWhy if I may ask?
DeleteWhat a confusion. The way humans complicate their lives amazes me at times.
ReplyDeleteNo be small confusion o
DeleteIMO, I will stick with the old one till something new comes up.
ReplyDeleteposter i will go with the old school, you said the old stress has less of stress. You said the old school is 5 minutes walk which is not that far. You have just one pupil in your class, are you ready to start looking for more pupils for the new school.
ReplyDeleteThat woman is so nice now cos you have not join her. Please stick with the old school especially with having less stress and more pupil.
The old school be fine
ReplyDeleteYou don't have any problem really
I prefer the old school, would you teach lessons for free?that's extra time.secondly the first may not fulfil her promises, it will be like a promise a man made to a woman on top bed because of desperate need.
ReplyDeleteThe old school is better.
ReplyDeleteDon’t go with an unstable employer
ReplyDeleteIf I were you, I would go with the old school.
ReplyDeleteVery true, working close to your work place brings disrespect and lack of privacy. Secondly I will say the old is better as you get to work without pressure and also gain more experience because of the number of pupils and you might have the opportunity to meet a parent that might help you as far as you work hard and do a good job with your pupils as their teacher.
ReplyDeleteForget about the laziness of your co-worker, just do your job rightly it might be to your advantage as children see and talk too, so your luck might just shine.
I prefer the old school. I have learnt not to take people niceness because they are not yet capable and I am available.
ReplyDeleteWord🤔
DeleteI stand with Stella, peace of mind is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteFrom experience most private schools are the same
ReplyDeleteIf you know how to mind your business very well, take the new school.
ReplyDeleteYou quit your old school without properly informing them?. That’s wicked. You and the new school deserve one another
ReplyDeleteI can’t even see any justifiable reason you left the old school for the new school. They pay more, you have more kids. They have been there longer so there’s more stability. Poster, return to the old school pls since I haven’t resigned
ReplyDeleteExactly,,,no cogent reason at all
DeleteThe poster even have a chance of promotion, salary increment and the rest with the old school... unless she's not happy there tho
Poster, count the comments here, the highest number of comments suggesting which school to go to, is your answer..the highest count for now is ...the OLD school! Stick with that.
ReplyDeleteAs in…. This is a straight forward decision but madam new school dey mess with posters mind lol. It’s all good sha. Thank goodness you wrote this chronicle because you for don make silly mistake hmmm….
DeleteBut it's not even good and show professionalism that you ll quit your job without informing your employer, no matter how little you think the setting is, by the way how can somebody pressure you to leave your place of work and join her, and as an adult you ll submit your phone as what
ReplyDeleteSee how left your peace of mind and it's on crossroad.
Please think of growing professionally, go to the old school ,learn the rudiments , start writing Educational exams like NTI, strive to be a government Teacher that's what my sis did too, today she is a qualified govt teacher.
The fact that the woman is promising here and there my dear you go see shege and banza when you join her , no be private school, by that time there is no vacancy in the old school
Pls poster make good choices this is 2023 start early and end happily
Gbam. Love your comment 💕
DeleteGo back to the old school.
ReplyDeleteYou’re just complicating things for yourself.
According to you, the old school is less stressful, just 5 mins walk, you get 60% of the lesson money and the population is high (long duration)
But the new school has only 10 pupils! Ah! I’m sorry to say this but how sure are you the school won’t close down any moment? Or will go out to start hustling pupils for them?
Talk about the proprietor being a good woman…You never can tell, you don’t know her yet. Maybe she’s just nice to get you to stay in her school.
So you just want to teach the lessons for free?
Check am nau
Lol she dey use church mind to handle pesin wey get business (school). Business is business o poster. New school madam is all about herself and you can be replaced anytime. You’ve got to put you first and don’t let emotions get in the way of making the best decision for you and your family.
DeletePlease stick with the old school because it's been long standing.
ReplyDeleteReturn to the old school. If your mind is really settled in the new school, you will not be sending this chronicle.
ReplyDeleteGbam. Was about writing this and saw your comment. The new school does not give her peace of mind. She already knows it. Hopefully you got your confirmation here poster. Stick to the old school and build your career from there. By Gods grace, better job offers awaits you. Take things one step at a time and this time pray about any decisions you want to make moving forward. It’s also good to get other’s perspective sha. Goodluck madam.
DeleteGo back to your old school, were there are pupils, what if the one pupil in your class stop, for one reason or the other, who will you teach,I think she will soon send you out to look for more pupils, extra lesson for free? please go back to your old school......... Josaria
ReplyDeleteGo back to the old school madam. Forget the promises the proprietress is making o. But don't jump out of an organization again. Resign honorably when you're done with any organization. Think things through before you act.
ReplyDeleteThe condition the new school gave is even modern day slavery.....submit phones as those on the run.
ReplyDeleteStella you and Bvs are Angels, thank you so much for posting this, I really appreciate you ❤
ReplyDeletePoster see ehn, by the time they start enforcing all these their rules, (of which more are still coming, it's a new school) you will realise all the madam's niceness was just a ruse. School work itself is stressful, even for those who have passion for it. Go for the one that is more structured, on its feet already. The new one is still evolving and the changes that may come may not be palatable in the long run. If it's the old school teaching partner's attitude that is pushing you out, try work around it, and share roles/draw up roster, so everyone knows what they are supposed to do at the right time, and find people of like minds to be friends with there, it makes the work easier. Above all, commit your "confusion" to God, He will give you peace.
