The General Manager, LASEPA, Dolapo Fasawe, disclosed that the agency received several distress calls with video evidence from concerned neighbours on the alleged environmental nuisance constituted by the club.
She said, “To avert situations like this, we recently held a stakeholders’ parley with the owners and chief executive officers of night clubs in the state to address the issue of noise pollution during the festive period. The state, in its magnanimity, compassionately increased the decibels to accommodate leisure and hospitality business interest.
“We urged them to apply for sound control permits to enable us to reach out and notify the host community of the intended programme and further deploy our officials to the venue for proper monitoring and prevention of excessive noise pollution.”

ReplyDeletePassed here yesterday and me think there's more to this. 👌
ReplyDeleteDear Stella, I passed through this road last Monday where I was recording the traffic situation caused by the nuisance of the club despite the presence of LASTMA, LCC, two lanes were blocked at about 7am early hours of Monday. One of the guards spotted me recording with my phone attacked our vehicle and raised punches at me but thank God I wasn't linched another came with weapon to attack me but sustained an injury on my arm. I've the video with me till now and ever ready to testify against their Rubbish along that road.
ReplyDeleteWhy did government issue a permit for a club to be built there? Why were there no restrictions or guidelines in the construction and planning to reduce noise pollution and traffic obstruction? Why didn't the concerned government's agencies tow away the wrongfully parked cars?
ReplyDeletePeller is no longer in APC and should be careful flouting rules this season.
