Friday In House News...

 Hailings .....

IN HOUSE MEMO

How is everyone doing? The shopping here is crazy, ah ah!!!.. The shopping mall have so many people buying things, its always like this during Christmas but COVID slowed things down and made one forget how busy places can get...

I plan to make fried rice tomorrow and put in everything you can imagine and hope that i get it right ..lol

On Sunday would be some traditional German food, make i still dey think am.
The Bambinos want me to buy them knockouts, those ones that are like rockets and can explode like dynamites.....I have been trying to talk them out of it cos these things are dangerous....

The search for the PA is still on and I am enjoying the grills but shocked that some people actually think a PA job involves office work...HOW????? Its a virtual job and there is no office.. Your duty would basically be to cull me neat stories and do some assignments i send you to...there is no office ooooooh.. you work from your phone.....
We will keep searching until a dedicated PA is found.....I am not in a hurry and can even do without one if i dont find...

If you are interested in the job of being my PA and basically get me culled stories from the entertainment segment of the internet....This means you will have an eye on Instagram and follow all the celebs to know when they make new posts and all.... I hope that this explanation is better?

I will do a giveaway early next year when i get a PA who can help me organize it......

Enjoy the rest of the day and dont waste food oooooh...

Shout out to all the BVs in my whatsapp group, You people are special...Special shout out to Rhoda, Gladys, Ennie, MadamDoris, Oche, Zazu, Olawealth, Bisola, Vee.......You people rock!

Ola i am thinking of gifting all the Ladies Ankara from your stable..Ping me later and lets talk
What else? I am hungry!

INSIDE THE MIND OF A MAN GOING THROUGH FATHERHOOD

So, my girls decided to give me a Christmas surprise (the plan was to take me to a shopping mall to buy chocolates, gift items for them as a Santa daddy).

pray tell, since when did spending money become 'surprise?. while I was getting the debit card I suddenly recalled that the proposed place is in the same vicinity as various mega shopping mall. Oya' girls take a pen and paper, quick, make a list for our monthly grocery needs, they happily obliged.

Comes the tricky bargaining part with the girls, who will carry what? who will pick items from the display shelves and who is the lucky "shopper of the year" who gets to pay with the debit card at the end. It was interesting to see them agreeing between themselves without much stress (hmmm 9th wonder of the world).

Off to the mall we went on a trot, despite hearing small side grumbling on how fast we had to walk (too much TV since holiday, we all must exercise today eh!.
Finally got the mall, drama now started hhmm!

At the payment till came the biggest lesson for today, the sales attendants kept ignoring my 10 year old as she kept patiently waiting for her 'turn' which never came.

I watched as time kept ticking, a bit angry at the manner with which the staff ignored this kid while attending to other adult customers that came after she was at the queue. So I called her out so we could go somewhere else for the purchase. But, I thought to myself...daddy will not always be there, girl has got to learn how to stand up for herself.

Bia little madam!, get back there, call out politely in your loudest voice, 'excuse me please, where should I make payment for this? or would you rather I return it to the shelf? She went back o, and and when she did, someone attended to her immediately.

lesson learnt: in life one must learn to make one's voice heard even when you feel you are being deliberately ignored. when you have set out to achieve something never let the behavior of others deter you

Yours sincerely

Nice Lesson learnt.. You seem to be having fun with your girls!

WISDOM NUGGETS

from the 28th chapter of the book of Proverbs.
Have a great, blessed and favoured day*

Nature abhors a vacuum. It is either you are for or against God’s law. The latter starts on a slippery slope and leads to disaster. Now, if you say you are for God’s law, do you stand for it? Do people know your standing? Thus, it is not enough to say it in words, you have to fight for it. Remember that there is no vacuum in nature. It is either you are here or there.

Pray for leaders with understanding. This is the difference between good and bad leadership. Some leaders have short or long term mindset. Thus, when you go to the polls, seek out people who have real understanding and long term goals. To do this, ask questions.

You make a choice when you do nothing. When you do nothing, the wicked and corruption takes over. Thus, you must be one of those who makes sure the right thing is done by participating, voting and being involved in the politics of your country.

- God is just and fair. He doesn’t play with justice. Thus, if you seek God, justice should be second nature to you. Also, before you conclude that you are just, check that you do not practice the opposite of justice which is nepotism, unfairness, favouritism and so on.

As a self test, check if people are happy that you’ve been promoted. When you are in charge, are you nice? Are you a good leader? Remember that when the good are promoted, everyone is happy, but when the bad are in charge, people watch out.

  5. Dunno how I went from a totally horrible jollof rice cook to a sought after one. The transformation is amazing. Like once we have a gathering of friends where we all have to bring food, my friends always tell me to make my jollof rice na.

We are having a gathering in an air bnb appointment for our five families and of course, I was told to prepare my jollof rice compulsorily.

Wish I could reciprocate this positive transformation in my beans cooking. That one ehn πŸ˜‚

    4. The trick I learnt was to use derica tin tomatoes exactly alongside the fresh tomatoes and a lot of tatashe. Cover with foil once u pour in the rice and then allow to burn and smoke.

I also must mention that I use a particular pot for cooking it and I can say for a fact that it adds to it cos when I try with any other pot, I don't get same result

    5. Derica and Gino gives the best jollof... For the beans fry fish with your palmoil and make stew with enough crayfish and onion, the steyste

  8. This got me laughing!
Why I Will Never Teach Pre-School Kids Again!
At the creche where I work, there is a little girl named Vicky. She is so cute and sweet.
Yesterday, just before knocking off, I found her busy, trying to put on her shoes.
I approached her, and offered to help her. It was such a torrid time.
The boots seamed to be smaller than her size. It took me 5 minutes to help her wear them. When we were done, after making a steps away from her, she called me said "Teacher, you made me wear banana". When I looked at her shoes, to my embarrassment,
I realised I had misplaced her shoes - the banana style.
Upon trying to take off the shoes again, it took me 3 minutes. After struggling so much I eventually managed to remove them and tried putting them on again, this time the correct way. However, it was more difficult than the first time.
When I finished, she said: "Teacher, these shoes are not mine!"
I really got angry, but since I work with little kids, I had to be patient and control my anger. I struggled to remove the shoes. I then asked Vicky where her own shoes were and this is what she said:
"These shoes belong to my sister, my mum is the one who made me wear them in the morning today".
This time I boiled in anger. But since I always do my job perfectly and wholeheartedly, I helped her to put on the shoes again. When we were done, Vicky pulled another shocker, yet again. "What about the socks, teacher?" she asked.
I wondered whether I should laugh or cry.
Politely and swiftly I asked her, "Where are the socks Vicky?"
She innocently replied: "I shoved them in my shoes, they are in front of my toes"
    I Simply Resigned!🀣🀣
    Copied

  22. Children are a delight anytime, anyday. Teaching kids how to handle stuff on their own, is a skill that must be taught to them. I remember when I was still in secondary school, my dad usually paid the fees himself. When I got to JSS 2 firstf term, he took me to the bank and showed me how to pay it. He didn't say anything, just 'oya, follow me'...
The next term, he gave me the fees and told me to go to the bank and bring back the receipt. I was 9 years at that time.

Hian, me that was reserved, shy and scared. That fees stayed with me for almost a week. The weekend, he asked for the receipt and when I told him it was still with me, he have me a big knock on my head and gave me an ultimatum otherwise no fees payment for that term.

I had to summon courage, went to the bank and did all I saw him do. I got the receipt, showed him (I was so proud of myself), he asked me, 'did they kill you'? I just smiled and put the receipt in my bag, for the next day.

Since then, I've been the one handling fees payment. Infact, I was traveling on my own across states in Nigeria, by the age of 10.

I miss that man, with every fiber of my being..

  31. The people complaining about not being able to make custard in yesterday's FAQs, 🀣 let me give you some secret tips.
    1) Use a container that is big enough to accommodate the dissolved mixture plus the hot water to be poured into it. Lack of space can spoil it.
    2) Use little water to dissolve the custard/pap. However the dissolved mixture should be able to move freely when stirred with a spoon, so using too little water is not good because then the mixture will not be loose and free.
    3) Use ONLY room temperature water to dissolve your custard/pap. Using cold, or lukewarm water or water from the fridge to dissolve spoils it.
    4) Make sure the water to make the custard/pap is well boiled and hot. Not the about to boil or boiled 5 mins ago type.
    5) Stir the dissolved mixture while pouring in the hot water slowly. Use one hand to stir it either in a circular motion or a zig-zag motion, while using the other hand to pour in the hot water at the same time. Try not to pour in the hot water too fast so as to give the mixture time to firm up as you are stirring. Keep pouring in the hot water until it is done.
It is done when it gets firmer and the colour gets deeper.

Let's enjoy the rest of the day. And like Stella said, no waste food oo.
