ReplyDeleteThis...is...for the glory of God.' John 11:4 NKJV
Observe:
(1) God has a plan in mind that you don't see. Why did Jesus wait four days after hearing Lazarus had died before going to visit the family? God waits for two reasons:
(a) That your faith may be strengthened. Jesus said, 'I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe' (John 11:15 NKJV). In life, crises come and go. Your next crisis will be different from your last one, but the thing that must remain strong is your faith.
(b) That God may be glorified. The Pharisees believed your spirit left your corpse on the fourth day. Had Jesus intervened earlier, they may have said, 'He wasn't really dead.' Hence Jesus said, 'This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God' (John 11:4 NKJV). It's in looking back that you see God's wisdom and will at work in the situation.
(2) God will make you deal with issues you have tried to bury. 'Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha...said to him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days"' (John 11:39 NKJV). Are you praying for an answer in one area while God is telling you to 'take away the stone' and deal with an issue you've buried in another area? When your heart is right with God, your prayers will be answered (see 1 John 3:21-22).
(3) God will make you an example of his grace. Picture Lazarus after his resurrection. Without even speaking a word, his life declared to everyone that Jesus is Lord. And the same can be true of you. God has redeemed and raised you up to be a testimony of his grace.

I remember when I was still staying with my brother, whenever he is coming home from work he always branch his girlfriend's side but he will never eat there he must get home with gists and what to advice about. Some of them can cook and do house chores but after marriage, they leave everything for their wife as the lord and savior that they are in marriage. My own hubby used to cook for me when I visited him while dating. I was happy that I have found a good man.
DeleteNow that we are married, he doesn't even boil his bathing water. He will talk to me any day I don't wake up early to boil water for him to bath and go to work. I also go to work too. I will first boil his bathing water before I start cooking. If there is light, I use electric kettle to boil it.
The other day, on a weekend that he doesn't go to work, he was telling me that I didn't wake up to make tea for him. I confronted him and asked him why he could not wake up and make tea for himself, he asked me if he would use cold water to make it, I asked him what happened to him that he cannot boil water and make tea for himself. He could not talk again. That is the kind of man hat he changed to after marriage.
