Labour Room Drama

Dreams can come true.....
She wished for a day to be able to gist us about her labour room drama and it came to pass....

I have been an ardent reader on your platform and ever since I have wished for a day to post mine and here it is.

I got married 2020 but was staying in another state from hubby few months in I was able to join hubby in his state May, 2021 few months after I took in. it was a mixed feeling but no pregnancy symptoms but unfortunately the stress of the work got to me and during the cause of rushing to the office on a bike, I had an accident and fell off the bike.

I didn't report in the hospital about my condition and I lost the pregnancy in the month of October, 2021.

Hubby was very supportive so we rested for a bit but my mind was troubled and on cross over night I prayed and cried to God for another baby. God answered my prayers. I took in February 2022 , every thing went smoothly except for fatigue which I took time off work for after first trimester every thing went smoothly.

forward to November 4, while at work I noticed I was having back ache and my legs were heavy to carry but I pulled through cos it was a Friday, and I rested enough the weekend.

My antenatal appointment was to be for 10th November, 2022 but on Monday night 7th, I woke up to wetness on the bed and had to rush to the toilet when I got back to bed I noticed it was not urine, I woke hubby and informed him used a pad and continued my sleep. when it was morning of 8th of November, I had to go the hospital because the water kept coming.

I didn't go with my hospital bag that morning. when I met the doctor, he told me I will meet my baby that day and asked me to go get my bag: I had to call home for hubbys cousin to help with the bag. All this while I had been checked and it was 2 cm and I was not feeling any pain yet.

They inserted a drug and asked me to go and lie down which I did and around 4 pm I was checked again and I was around 6 cm though I started having pain but was still bearable.

I was given a med in my canula which made me to see double cos I barely ate in the morning and I also had high bp. so I slept a while and when it was around 7.30 I started feeling strong pains and started walking the stairs to ease the pain but it started back to back and the urge to poo also, by then hubby had joined me.

I endured the pain, went on my hands and knees and continued to ask God for mercy. around 8.30pm I was called into the labor room for check but when the doctor inserted her fingers she said she could feel the baby head, so my husband had to go bring the hospital bag from the room so they could pick every necessary thing.

I was asked to push, I was so scared at first but I pushed anyway when I heard they were going to cut me, after like four pushes my prince came into the world screaming his lungs out. I was relieved but that moment is indescribable .

He weighed 2.9kg .
