 An Uyo Federal High Court on Monday nullified the election of Akanimo Udofia as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State. Justice Agatha Okeke, who delivered the judgement, ordered the APC to conduct a fresh governorship primary election within 14 days.



 A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday adjourned indefinitely the trial of the Biafra nation agitator, Nnamdi Kanu in the terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government. Justice Binta Nyako put off the trial pending the resolution of the Federal Government’s appeal against the October 13 judgment of the Court of Appeal that discharged him from the terrorism charges.

 Gunmen, on Monday, invaded Obudi Agwa community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, killing five persons, including the traditional ruler of the community, Eze Ignitus Asor. It was gathered that some armed youths stormed the palace of the traditional ruler where a dispute between locals was being arbitrated and opened fire on him.

Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, cannot win next year’s election, according to Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State. Although political pundits have rated Obi as one of the contestants to be on the lookout for in next year’s contest, Soludo has said even the Labour Party candidate knows he is going nowhere as far as the 2023 presidency is concerned.

The federal government has said the consistent growth in Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has not had a positive impact on the lives of its citizens as a result of growing inflation. Speaking at the 28th edition of the Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmad said soaring food inflation in the country has outshined the seventh quarterly growth in the economy.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ali, on Monday, confirmed the arrest of nine suspected bank account hackers in the State.
Ali, while addressing journalists on the development, said the syndicate specialised in using tricycles to rob passengers of their valuables in the State.

. Nigerians took to twitter on Monday to express displeasure over irregularities found in the voter register released online by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Social media users pointed out that there were many cases of multiple registrations and the registration of under-aged looking voters.

The Court of Appeal has nullified the candidacy of the former Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, as the All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Akwa-Ibom North/West District in the 2023 General Elections.

The judgment was delivered on Monday evening in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Recall that the Federal High Court had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognise Akpabio as the APC Senatorial candidate.

Justice Emeka Nwite, the lead judge then, held that INEC acted illegally by refusing to accept and publish Akpabio’s name after it was sent by APC, following which it ordered INEC to accept and publish Akpabio’s name as APC senatorial candidate for Akwa Ibom North/West senatorial district in 2023

    But why are igbo elites not singing the Peter Obi song. No igbo politician have come out to stan or endorse him. Why?

  3. The trial of Nnamdi Kanu was adjourned indefinitely cos he wasn't present yesterday at the court.

    Soludo is currently doing too much and I'll advise he focus on the
    many challenges bedeveling Anambrarians and Anambra state in general. He should work so we have something good to say of him when he leaves office.

    All these career politicians don't want to retire...oga o
