AMEBO CHRONICLES - Runaway Pikin

Na wah!

When I speak I don’t want to seem like one who is insensitive to other people’s plight, but please give birth to the number of children you can take care of on your own and stop dumping your kids with people.

There is this older woman I am friend’s with when I was running a bar, she is very kind to everyone and her house is always full. Mama brings children related and unrelated to live with her and she never treats them badly.

I stop by her place occasionally for a bottle and small gist. There is this boy that stays with her whose mother had 4 of them for 3 different men. He is very troublesome and always ran away whenever he was beaten.

Whenever he runs away the woman would sit at the gate waiting and her eldest child always blamed her for taking in all the kids instead of letting the parents be responsible for their own kids.

On this particular day the boy broke bottles of drinks he went to carry from their supplier, before the woman could pick a cane the boy took off. Mama called me to inform me in case I saw him. We searched and didn’t find him, Mama almost went crazy.

His mother came and was crying and wailing and even insulted Mama, she threatened fire and brimstone. Those that were not there to help her when she ran to Mama were the ones putting fire and making assumptions.

Four days later the police came with him, he was rescued from some people that tried to drag him into a vehicle. The good Samaritans took him to the police station.

After they settled the whole matter, the mother took her son and left raining curses on Mama. Mama didn’t bother she was just full of thanksgiving.

Mama swore never to take another child again and begged God to help her with the remaining ones.

I stopped by to check on her as usual and saw the boy eating a giant mold of eba ha!!! Mama smiled and said the mother came back few weeks later to beg.

This woman no dey hear

A few weeks later, I got a call that the boy ran away AGAIN.

  1. The earlier the woman realises that it's not everybody you should help, the better for her.
Her good deed will get her in trouble one day.
People should learn to help from afar.

    1. I believe God has a special place in heaven for such people as Mama. She has a very large heart indeed. I pray God continues to bless and protect her because evil people take undue advantage of her type. She is actually a gem.

  5. The mama don't have what to do with her money than feeding people's children that are not grateful. She should allow those who gave birth to train their children.
