    1. Most of these kids try to manipulate their parents into feeling bad, she was grounded from seeing her boyfriend and the best thing she could do is to take her life? Wasn’t she even hopeful about seeing him later in the future?

Sorry to her parents, they must feel so bad about it and blame themselves.

    2. @push up dis may not be the full story, dis is what they are just telling us...That girl may be going through severe abuse at home. It cld be sexual abuse, it cld be severe physical and emotional abuse. Cld be a home she felt absolutely no love and d so called bf was the only one dat showed her. What she did is wrong but i wont judge harshly, i once came across a girl whose father was sexually abusing her at home and bcos of dis she had dis unhealthy obsession with any guy she was dating, she was always lookn for love cos she got none at home.

    2. Wow how insensitive!!

She’s just a 17year old kid that is yet to understand life, you don’t know her mental status nor the kind of environment she grew up in so you don’t have the right to judge her

    3. Seconded. All because of dick, awon woke generation isonu. And who said she hasn't understand life? She hasn't but can take her own life bah? She knew what she was doing, abeg. She took her life without thinking what her parent would go through. Nonsense child

    4. 8:52 I doubt it has anything to do with her mental health, most of our teenagers want to have and enjoy what they see celebrities who are more than a decade older them do.
Parenting in social media era is such a difficult task, they see how the ones tagged wayward are beautiful rewarded or how large they live being baby mama to a 'rich' boy.
Girls have been dating at this age before but the desperation is at hish level in this generation, all these I'm fun to chat with or I need more contact you see on their WhatsApp are ways someone of them get involved in this silly acts.
You need to see the boy she killed herself for, someone that took camera to record himself while crying, he doesn't look like someone that'd help her grow career wise, he just like the guy that carried his girlfriend on bike to a cheap saloon and they get promoted on twitter and some people started rewarding them with cash gift before you know it they will turn to influencer and some peoples couple goal.

    5. @Anon 8:52, may all the spirits she'll encounter on her way to her final destination stone her twice on the head. How's that for more insensitivity darling? Gross right? I'm glad you agree. You people love to honey-coat and sugar-coat truth so much that you keep switching sides every eke day. Are we not the same people who condemned Bimbo IVD for choosing a man above her own life and success, for doing all those gross things because of a man just last week?

This girl had a mother who saw that her association with that boy could ruin her life and probably seized her phone and grounded her so she can receive sense but the up and coming abiku tramp took her miserable life instead to spite her mother. Now, that's insensitive! If Bimbo Ogbonna's mom had done this back then, maybe she'd have successfully separated her from IVD earlier.

I really pray that this girl's mother has other wise and kind children to comfort her and make her proud. She did not fail her child; she only disciplined her but the 17 year old wit.ch felt a life without regular gbola was not worth living. Stupid and insensitive child. Thank you Finny for serving the truth👌. May we not give birth to foolish and insensitive children in Jesus's name.

    7. im happy im out of Nigeria because it seems there are a lot of callous and black hearted people who think that mental health is only when someone is in the market place with dada hair ..im so relieved I am were people are treated with kindness and empathy. you read a headline and jump into callous and wicked conclusions not knowing if the girl was severely abused at that same home hence looked for comfort outside ...and you want to japa to where e nor go work with this mindset o

    1. Gbam! She cannot rest in peace anything. Wicked child! Watch how all the yeye children in that neighbourhood will start to threaten their parents with suicide if they don't let them go for hookup. She has set a precedent unless the parents say "If you go, don't come back to this house anymore." Is it not in Naija where teenagers are looking for fresh human heads and destinies for money rituals on a daily? Their head go correct at last when dem don use like 4 from the same area. Stu.pid GenZs😡.

  11. In this generation it’s best to dialogue with teenagers and not force, gone are the days when children fear their parents

    1. As long as you are my child, living in my house and I play my part in raising you to be useful to yourself and the society in future, you must both love and respect me. I demand it 100%. When you leave home and become responsible for yourself, we can start to use the dialogue formula because if to say I woze dat pikin backhand slap, everything wey concern preek for don clear for im mind teytey. Pikin go call police for parents has never deterred me because na the same police go throw that pikin for jail later if e begin misbehave. You never want to imagine the agony of parents who go to visit their kids in jail whilst their mates are living free and doing great exploits.

    2. It’s this encouragement they keep doing that enables them.
I know some parents who say they don’t want to introduce “no” into their vocabulary so they grant other alternatives than saying no, some compromise, some bribe … all these only enable the children to more manipulative methods of bending their parents decisions.

Make your children understand that there’s hierarchy in decision making, let them know when your decision is final and the importance of obedience. Yes you will give them a listening ear but they should also listen and obey when you make a decision.

  12. Beautiful one, only if you had listened to your mother or probably had the right talk.
If you were still here and given yourself a lil more time, you would laugh at your old self, thank your mom and given her a hug.
    Rest well

    Taiwo why now 💔
This age 13-20 is a very risky one

May God give parents wisdom to deal with them in a way that will yield positive results.

    She didn't know any better.
She may not have intended to kill herself, and likely just wanted to hurt herself out of spite.
    Poor girl.
    May God console her family.

  16. I am suicide at about this age, everybody was saying this same reason but it wasn't. My mum was just a bully. Married at 28 a Virgin...some African mothers are terrible in raising the girl child.

    1. I am a man. I can tell you that a female has lesser opportunity at a second or third chance if she miss an important path at certain age (16 - 24 years). A male may face similar challenge but the female face it more. That's why it appears parents are more strict with them. It is that strictness some female call bullying or victimization of the female.

My sister faced it. By dint of hard work, family support, and God'sfavour, she overcame and financially okay with a grand child though far younger than me. But most female don't make it like this young woman here.

And by the way, the disobedience by a girl child over boyfriend matters is not new. It was there even in the 70s. Only God and some sensible boyfriends help a girl and her family through it.

    2. Thank you, I thought as much. Maybe they were abusing the girl physically or sexually in that house, maltreating her, etc. I had suicidal thoughts too when I was her age and it was not connected to any boy as I didn't have a boyfriend. My parents were abusive both physically and verbally, they would abuse me and I would curl up in a corner and weep. If I had committed suicide back then, they would come out and tell people that it was because of a boy.

  19. Poor parenting. You don’t bully a child into doing what you want. You explain and plead with them. I plead with my younger ones all the time. I explain and plead with them to trust me. They may cry and not understand, but they do as I say. And within months they thank me. It works like magic. I beg and beg and persuade them to trust me. Once they get to a certain age, I will stop. But for now, I just want them to do right

    1. ...It is unfair for you to declare 'poor parenting' in this situation. If the story is how it happened, then the parents were doing proper parenting...Your younger ones may be sensible and listen to explanations and pleas, they are however not the standard/norm for other kids and teens.... Some kids/teens will do what they want to do regardless of your pleading (Kindly ask educators what they go through everyday in the classroom first). If this 17 year old truly took her life because she was grounded for the reason given, then she was throwing a lifelong emotional blackmail on her parents. I pray they are strong enough to call her bluff off even in death... May she rest in peace!...Watch as kids/teens will start using this manipulation tactics to get away with anything. Discipline will never go out of style especially for minors, you will cause them more harm without discipline. There is a time to plead/explain and there is a time to take a stand as a wiser adult!!

    2. 1 million likes for your comment @ Leo Inspired. I have always held on to the Bible verse that says spear the sword and spoil the child. There is time for everything, time to plead and time to take a stance as an adult. With God’s help we will be able to train our children because parenting is getting more difficult in this jet age.
