President Buhari's Wife Aisha Reveals He Suffered From PSTD And She Suffered The Consequences At 19 Years

Na wah oo.... Must Read.

Aisha, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed the nature of the illness the President suffered for years.

Aisha disclosed that Buhari suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, for many years, due to his involvement in Nigeria’s civil war, his overthrow as military Head of State, and subsequent detention for 40 months without being charged with any offence.

She disclosed this while speaking at an event for the Armed Forces Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Centre (AFPTSDC) initiated by the Mrs Lucky Irabor-led Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA).

She recounted how she suffered the consequences of PSTD at an early stage in her marriage to Buhari.

According to Aisha Buhari: “It is a reality that soldiers and military families have to live with, despite its negative consequences. Being a soldier’s wife or a retired soldier’s wife and a wellness expert, I understand the challenges associated with PTSD and its impact on military families and the nation.

“My husband served the Nigerian Army for 27 years before he was overthrown in a coup d’Γ©tat. He fought civil war for 30 months without rehabilitation; he ruled Nigeria for 20 months and was detained for 40 months without disclosing the nature of his offence.

“One year after he came out from detention, we were married, I clocked 19 years in his house as his wife, legitimately. I suffered the consequences of PTSD because having gone through all these, and at the age of 19, to handle somebody who was a former Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria’s Armed Forces, to tell him that he is wrong is the first mistake you will make.

“So, at the age of 19, I had to figure out how to tell somebody of his calibre that he was wrong or right and that was the beginning of my offence in his house, and contesting elections in 2003 and failed, 2007, failed and 2011, the same thing – all without rehabilitation – I became a physiotherapist.

“You can imagine me at 19 years, handling somebody that went to war, suffered coup d’Γ©tat, then lost several elections, and, finally, getting to the Villa in the 2015. Also, for a woman to tell them that this is wrong or right in Nigeria and Africa is a problem.”

    1. Don't say "we are all suffering", say l am suffering 😎. Millions of Nigerians are enjoying consequences of Buhari's government. If you are suffering, it's your fault, not Buhari's. So always say l am suffering. 😎

  4. Jesus Christ!!! And this is the kind of person who is our president? Little wonder the kind of statements he makes, especially about the Igbos. Nigerians voted for a man with mental issues and that's why this country is the way it is. I don't even want to talk about the fact that she was 19 while she was going through all that. I choose not to talk about it at all.

    1. Aaahhhh... e no fit better for this evil family that has made life unbearable for Nigerians for so long. They knew he wasn't mentally, morally, emotionally and academically fit, yet, for personal gains, brought his God forsaken ass to rule over two million people? I pray we survive till he leaves that seat forever

  11. APC employing the sympathy card to convince Nigerians to vote their incompetent asses again. You guys have always had money, why didn't he seek therapy instead of continuously contesting elections? Especially, knowing he isn't in the right frame of mind.

Some days ago, Aisha apologized to Nigerians, now this, trying to play on our emotions. Do you know that all direct/indirect victims of terrorism both in the North and South need therapy but can't afford it? I'm still traumatized by some terrorist videos despite having no connection to the victims. Make una dey go abeg!!!

They open thier mouth and ignorance jumps out. No wonder most of them are not employable despite having masters and PhD. It's a shame

  16. Why Aisha no tell us this during those periods he was contesting and losing? Why now that we've already suffered the consequences of his mental health? Why? There is no one example that showed how capable this man is right from time. He lack in all ramifications except to say gibberish on national TV. E wo e koshi danu

  18. Little wonder he always expresses "shock" to everything going on under his administration. Aishat should just stop with all these abeg, cos Nigerians are the ones suffering from the so called sickness jare

  19. “A wellness expert”…. Then she became “ a physical therapist”? Does she understand the speech she was given to read? Physiotherapists don’t treat PTSD… when did this woman become a “wellness expert”? Why did he keep contesting? Does Aisha get it? Does she understand that her husband and his fellows have created ptsd in millions of Nigerians by their actions and inactions? Why pour salt on the injuries of the populace who don’t have the money to access food and healthcare while you live in opulence? She regaled us with tales of his sojourn in power as if it’s an entitlement. May God deliver us all in Jesus Name from these narcissists.
