The earth is continually revolving. When it's light in one hemisphere, it's dark in the other. While one person is experiencing midnight, another is rejoicing because daybreak has finally come. Both people live on the same planet, but in very different places. So when you're having a 'night-time' experience, if you can just hold on a little longer, things will change. God guarantees it. God works the night shift, and he will turn your darkness into light if you just keep trusting him.
Notice: certain significant events in the Bible happened at night. For example, while Adam was sleeping, God reached in, performed surgery, and made Eve. At midnight, while the other prisoners slept, Paul and Silas sang praises to God and he delivered them. When Peter was locked in the inner prison, at midnight God sent an angel to liberate him. When Jesus was crucified, the earth was plunged into darkness, but on Easter morning the light came on - forever.
You have to expect some 'night-time' experiences. God's 'darkroom' is where he develops you into the image of Christ. Enduring is what gives you the credentials to walk out into the daylight, having earned the right to be there. This kind of faith is tenacious, radical and relentless: when backed into a corner, it stands its ground and declares, 'I've lost my job, my mortgage is overdue, my symptoms don't look too good, but I still believe God.' That kind of faith gets results every time!

ReplyDeleteWe all experience darkness. I, personally, lost my eyesight when I was three because of optic atrophy and several degenerative eye conditions.
Perhaps your darkness has come in the form of a painful loss, a chronic or terminal illness, deep loneliness, addiction, or perpetual anxiety and sadness. Whether you resonate with one of these categories or not, because you’re a human being, you know what it is to do battle with darkness.
There’s the darkness that keeps us from clearly seeing the path ahead, the haze of uncertainty as we make our way through the world. And there’s the darkness that keeps us from face-to-face encounters with God this side of heaven, calling us to rely on faith (1 Cor. 13:12). But in any darkness we face, I am certain we can learn to sing of hope. True, deep, unshakable hope that comes from knowing that God broke into our darkness, conquering it once and for all.
This reading plan is about more than just warbling a song—it’s about creating and practicing a mindset, one that I am convinced is the only way to walk through this life with joy in every circumstance.
We all long for wholeness. For perfection. So we do our best to avoid the brokenness within and around us. We block it out, or we turn up the noise of our busy lives to distract ourselves. We pretend the darkness doesn’t exist. We choose not to sing.
But what if we did? What if we sang songs of hope in our darkness? Of lament in our pain and brokenness but also of the coming wholeness? What if we sang of both our suffering and our coming glory? What if we sang of the eternal joy that will outlast and ultimately triumph over our sorrow? Wouldn’t such songs give us the hope and joy to overcome the darkness now?
Ignoring the darkness doesn’t make it light. Avoiding brokenness doesn’t bring redemption. But singing in the dark can heal us and change us. When our songs are directed toward God, the giver of song and healing, they ultimately bring us hope and joy. It takes courage to sing in the dark, especially in moments when our stories don’t make sense to us. When confusion and doubt overwhelm us. But this courage, it seems to me, grows as we sing.
If you’ve been singing your life’s songs in the darkness of sadness, physical suffering, self-doubt, or isolation, or if you simply want to learn to sing hope, no matter your circumstances, I invite you to join me as I share my story and we study the songs of Scripture. Together, we’ll embark on a journey that I pray and believe will help you experience the infinite hope and endless joy we’ve been promised in Christ.
Reflection: A “song” doesn’t have to have literal music. It is whatever is on repeat in your heart and mind. What “song,” good or bad, is playing over and over in your head? Ask God to teach you to sing His song of love and truth.

No other show or horror movie shocks me as much and the perps are mostly women who need to do better for themselves, their children, family and society at large.
I find your sense of humour intriguing and need you to know that I actually look forward to your comments because drama is guaranteed and that is why I am here. I love that you know what your advocacy is about and that you are true to your bro code even in the face of merciless criticism and bashing from my gender. We will not stop bashing so, don't stop posting. It's sit at home on Mondays, posted to an office where I practically do nothing from Tuesday to Friday. I stay and work in a rural area, no fun, no boyfriend, no steady light. My life is so boring.

DeleteYou can try and locate a church in an urban town close to the village and start attending every Sunday or locate an eatery or any other fun place in the town and go out to unwind every weekend.
DeleteMy 13 year old daughter told me on Friday to warn our neighbors son( 15 yr old)hat the boy told her to come so that they'll do ife iberibe(touch themselves) ,she said he has told her that several times ,that he has said the same thing to Divine and Chinaza her friends. I have a shop in the same building we're living,she said sometimes when I send her upstairs to get something for me the boy will come to the staircase and be begging her.
ReplyDeleteThe boy is not living in our compound oo,they live in a house after ours but he has friends that's living our compound and he always come to play or watch film with them.
On Saturday when the boys mom was going to market I stopped her and told her everything my daughter said,she was just shouting Jesus Jesus .I told her to warn his son never to step foot in our compound again and I also warned that his friends not to allow him come visiting them .His mom thanked me and said he'll be disciplined when she comes back in the evening. Raising a girl child is not easy.
Thank God you have a good relationship with your daughter for her to open up to you. Please still put eyes on her and other boys including that boy she asked you to warn

DeletePlease house help me to make a better choice of phone I should go for, I want to but a second phone cos I use iPhone already and it only accept one sim.
ReplyDeleteI have Vivo Y21 in mind cos it has finger print and 4,64GB. The money is around 120k but someone is telling me to but Oppo is same amount and enjoy a better phone version. I have used infinix, tecno but has never used oppo or Vivo.
Please can I go ahead and get the Vivo my mind is on or I should go for oppo. If you have a better phone option please drop your comments and it should be within that range I mentioned up there. Thank you all.

The ones they sell in eatery is always dry inside,the sauce doesn't penetrate it and its tiring...
I want to enjoy eating meat not that dryness...help a sister.
