IJAY's GIST CORNER

When I was living with big sis and her family, we attended her husband's colleague's traditional marriage. We left very early so that big sis can assist with the cooking, her hubby too being very close to the colleague and head of the planning committee. We got there and preparations were ongoing.

The invite says 12pm, but trust us na with our African time. When the ceremony finally started with guests still arriving, especially those coming in from far distance, Naso weather change. Like, the weather that was bright with no much sun, just normal, just changed.

The cloud turned dark, locals like me just know sey monkey hand dey inside soup. Big sis just gave me side eye, we understand na. Some people for this life, no dey ever like better thing or use eye see better thing happen to another person, Ndiala ndiala in Zubby Michael's voice.

Before we say Jack, there was heavy downpour, it kept raining nonstop for hours. Occasion wey no kuku start on time, na him rain come dey fall for hours, so what time will the visitors leave. My in-law being the head of the committee who also understands what's happening insists the ceremony should go on in the rain. They entered the rain and arranged the chairs that were flung to different directions by the wind, not minding their outfits getting wet.

My big sis that put to birth recently used to tell me to always be ahead of the devil or evil personalities. If they come one way, follow another direction and escape them. Na her slogan be this. The people understood that someone somewhere didn't want the marriage to hold, they had to enter the rain to prove the person wrong.

As all these drama was going on, bride to be was crying her eyes out, 'they' want to spoil her big day. Her brothers were really upset about the whole thing and seeing their sis crying her eyes out when she's supposed to be happy, they armed themselves with cutlasses and set in to the bush. After about 30 minutes, the rain stopped, next thing we saw them dragging one man with them. He was in the nearby bush projecting the heavy downpour and to think this said man is also their neighbor. Thank God the marriage held just that it ended late. umu uwa na njo

Actually events like this don't look new or surprising to locals like me. If one wants to have a successful event, na to settle those 'rain makers', all of them, even if they are 10 in a community before the D day. Because by the time you go to one or two of them to 'helep' prevent rain from spoiling the event, the others will be jealous for not patronizing them and no be small Wahala be that. These things happen often and not new to us locals, so it's either you're willing to comply, or have your event during the dry season, or be fully rooted in Christ so that when they send the evil arrows, you'll either wage or send back to them.

These so called rain makers see themselves as gods, like one must seek permission from them before holding an event.

A young man dedicated his baby in church and the after church party was held in his house, before the dedication, one rainmaker in the villa was asking him if he'll not come to pay homage. The man thought 'na we we' matter, you can't hurt a fellow villager na. That Sunday as soon as they got back from church to start the house party, rain destroyed everything. And the evil rainmaker was absent, all fingers pointed at him, and na still near by bush they caught him. Don't know why they're always in nearby bushes cos all the many times they were caught, na for nearby bushes. Some people just don't like stress, they'll rather settle and have their event jejely and wayoly

Hmmmm that means most of these floods destroying places for Naija na the rainmakers nau....lol

PAINFUL UPDATE OF CHILDBIRTH AND SURGERY GONE SOUTH

Hi Stella , you remember me. I am the one with fourth degree tear that required surgery. I have been giving you update on my journey. This makes it two months after I went for the surgery and i am ready to tell my story.

I went to the hospital on the fourth of August and preparations were made which include bowel preparation ( removing all the contents in the stomach through pumping and stooling medicines).

On the 8th of August, after the spinal anesthesia was applied the surgery was conducted. I went well and after some hours I was wheeled out of the theater. The effect of the anesthesia stayed throughout the day. It was the next day that pains set in but it was manageable because of the pain relief I was given.

I remember asking the matron about the guaze used to cover the surgery area and she said that it will be removed by Wednesday. On that day, I called the nurse again and reminded her about the guaze. She now removed it. The doctor came and removed the catheter. That was when my problem started.

I couldn't easy myself, was in severe pain. Whenever I feel and urge to urinate I will be having contractions. Sleep was far from my eyes. My BP became so high. I complained the next day and the doctor said that it's spasm that I am experiencing not contractions. I was told to start eating pap, agidi or anything light. By Friday and Saturday I was in another level of pain.

Any urge to stool or urinate comes with contractions and nothing will come out except a little Black water thing. This contractions came frequently thereby soiling the whole place. My sister had to help me and clean the place every 15 minutes. On Saturday evening I begged a nurse there to give me the number of the surgeon that conducted the surgery.

I called him the next day and begged him to check me even if it was once to determine why I was not getting better. He insulted me on the phone for calling him during church hours and later sent a message to back it up. In the evening a female doctor was sent to check me. While she was about to check, the contraction came and that watery dark thing came out. When she saw it she started reprimanding me that I don't know how to wash my vagina well. I tried to explain that I washed it about 10 minutes ago.

She left and didn't check again. I was later sent to do scans, X-rays because of my complains. Nothing was found. For more than a week going to 2, I couldn't pass stool, BP was high and I was becoming worse and worse. Later my surgeon came and he said I disturb a lot. That in Abuja the surgery costs millions.

He checked me and discharged me. When I complained about being worse than I came. He said I should go that some people get better when they get home. How I got to anambra from Ebonyi was a long story. Getting to the park, my family saw my condition and immediately took me straight to another hospital. After scans and tests nothing was seen. The doctor put the catheter so that I can urinate. Tried pumping so that I can Poop but the machine gets blocked. This went on and on for three days.

I was given stooling medicines but for where. My stomach was swollen and I was at the point of death when a nurse suggested putting her hand inside my anus to bring out the stool. When she did that she said she was touching something, I was in pain so I urged her to bring it out. She drew out a big gauze that was blocking all the feaces for almost a two weeks. Immediately she removed it, feaces followed splashed everywhere. The contractions stopped.

It happened that the surgeon forgot a guaze inside of me during the surgery. I still ask myself why me? Of all the people that did the surgery. Why will life treat me like this? Am I depressed? I think about death every night before I sleep. Is it a crime to give birth? Nobody knew what I was going through, I then opened up, many ran away. Now all the sufferings of the surgery is now a waste because of the carelessness of a doctor.

Thanks be to God i am alive but will I live like this all through my life? I don't want to go through knife again........

This is really sad but with the way things are now, be happy that you are alive!........ I dont know the way forward for you but there must definitely be a solution... I am just imagining how the site of the surgery looks now.... OH GOD PLEASE HEAL YOUR DAUGHTER!!!!

FROM SATURDAY SPONTANEOUS POST

''Had a squabble with a friend. She brought bean cakes yesterday to the house. After she left, she called to ask if they were tasty, I said I haven't had them. She called back few hours later, again and again, told her point blank that I didn't eat it, too oily, she dropped the call.

When she left, my elder sus told me to trash it, that it's not normal to share bean cakes or candy out of the blues. I now remembered when a BV said someone should fry it and share to appease her dead parent. And this my friend is orphaned. I called her, she ignored. A week, no response.

I went to her place and asked her if it was fair to offer me sacrificial food, she said she was following prophet orders that others she gave ate and nothing happened to them, I said no, something has changed in their lives spiritually, and I cannot truncate my destiny over akara.

Pls those of you who do this, if it is a nice thing, give to your children or relatives, don't spoil the future of others for selfish reasons''

My mouth is still hanging loose from reading this, so they use Akara to steal peoples destiny? Nigeria we hail thee!!

FROM THURSDAY FAQ ON STELLAS BLOG

''What can one do to a supervisor who always collect cleaning items from the cleaners and take it home, leaving the cleaners to clean with little or nothing. I am in charge of the cleaners in my location, they have a supervisor who is a female.

Due to the way she share and take our stuffs home, the auditor came to my location and asked me to stop handling her over the items when i received. She said i should distribute it accordingly and allow them sign off on my book.

I started doing that, each time i want to distribute it, i will invite one of the cleaners to join me just to avoid i shared alone and maybe i took some home. But i suspected she collect from the cleaners after i have given them.

One of the cleaners just confirmed that to me when i was on leave that her madam has collected almost everything i gave them. How do i handle this without calling the cleaners name to her supervisor cos i promised not to call her name''..

Abeg do what you have to do to clear this before they tag you as thief that takes things home...

Some even go into praying spree just for God to help heal the world. Just as some don't care, there are those who would do anything just to be there for others in time of need.

    2. ๐Ÿ˜ calm down Fidel, both are interesting.

I don't like Aemond, he looks like a heartless fellow; as for Aegon, that one no go last for that iron throne, even he confessed that he doesnt want to be king. I like Alicent o, she still get small conscience, she didn't support killing the princess & also adviced Aegon not to do so when he becomes king, and she's matching her wicked father fire for fire. Na that soldier I dey pity (the one the princess slept with when she was younger) hes just acting out of hurt, dem go just use am dump am one side.
Please explain, did the king actually name Aegon King before he died? What was he mummuring to the queen before he died?

Alicent is just clinging to nonsense hope of her masturbator Aegon's son. How can anyone look at Aegon the masturbator and make him king?

    5. I actually Aemond a little bit because he is the original villain who was actually bullied and the truth is that his father was partial, so I get his anger

I dont know G.R Martins refused to finish the book since 1900. lazy man.

I agree with you. Martins is a very lazy man. We still don't know if Jon Snow really died or he warged into Ghost. At this point, all I pray for is that he doesn't die before he completes the book. D&D ruined the entire GOT series for me.

  25. Now I’m wondering if this women group (don’t want to mention name but it’s the most popular one in Nigeria) on Facebook are actually there to help women or for the financial gain.

Today, I saw a post on a lady that found out that a 49 yr old man was sleeping with a 15yr old girl and some indicated that it was not rape because the girl acted like she gave consent.

This was my response, copied and pasted, word for word

“ Most of these girls that do these are actually groomed to be like that. She’s a minor and a victim and we should always desist from making comments like these. She needs help not any form of blame”

And then I got a notification that an admin deleted my comment.

I’m still in shock. Abeg, what’s wrong with that comment?

This morning I read of the former Aviation minister's brother in law whose brother in law died due to complete medical medical carelessness in Abuja.

According to him and I quote '...Nigeria's healthcare system is very weak." I'm sure there is so much more he wanted to say but because of his position he had to caution himself.

But here, one clueless clown will be garrulously arguing about Nigerian healthcare system because he was admitted in one 3 star hospital and nurses were petting him because he knows the MD. Mtshewwww.
