Doctor Freaks Journal - Yaba Market Is Everyone's Favourite Shopping Place

The first time I had the privilege of travelling outside Africa, I was advised to get at least one decent jacket since I was making the trip in winter and as a "Lagos Boy," the first location that came to my mind to get the Jacket was Yaba Market. 

That market has been saving boys since 1914!

Those Yaba boys "won't make heaven!" Sugar-coated mouth. Buy this, buy that. Eventually, I got one 'leather' and one khaki. You needed to have seen the way those Yaba boys commandeered an "aboki" cobler to "shine" the jacket for me. 

I was feeling cool! "No be him I carry my jackets go where I bin travel go?" I was to go out the following morning and I quickly brought out my "shine-shine" jacket. "No be him my host wey God go bless well-well come tell me say dem bin don wear this particular 'leather' jacket pass as far back as the '90s?" 

Choi! 

I managed to wear it to the nearest popular shop to get a befitting jacket.
Omo! I'm still laughing at myself as I type these words.
