No, UNHRC, we still need the death penalty in this part of the world. Our prisons will be congested if we abolish it, secondly, our country is not rich enough to continue feeding these people for the length of their lives, thirdly, there are so many atrocities going on here and the perpetrators of such crimes rightfully deserve to be killed e.g banditry, kidnapping, terrorism.
ReplyDeleteSo please the security realities of countries vary, i do not think you should make law that is one size fit all. Finally, tell the US to close guatanamo bay first, the dehumanization of humans going on there is on another level, we have seen documentaries, let us start from there first. After all the law said, in ensuring a person’s right to life, keeping them alive is not enough, you must put them in a position where staying alive is actually possible.
Very well said.
DeletePlease with this present Nigeria, we need the death penalty.
DeleteSometimes, hardened criminals will escape from prison or correctional center.
