INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD



When I was single, a lot of my friends who got married before me pulled back but it never bothered me. My siblings and I were practically raised alone by my mom and she was so busy that she hardly had time for friends and all.

Now we are all grown, she has made new friends and reconnected with some old ones and they are doing great. So I kind of understood why my friends pulled back after marriage.

Then I got married, had my kids woke up one morning and realised that I was hardly communicating with my single friends, so I reached out. Spoke to one person and she was cool, told me how she understood and all .Spoke to the other person and she wasn’t ’t too happy about it.

I realised some people are of the opinion that the reason you pull back after marriage is because you don’t want your husband to be snatched or something like that by your single friends.

For me it wasn’t so, I was just so overwhelmed with starting a new home, getting pregnant, having kids, dealing with my new reality that I kind of became a little bit self absorbed and withdrew from everyone.

Hanging out and partying became dreadful because I couldn’t leave my toddlers and be there for my friends like they wanted me to. I remember when I was struggling with a new born with colic and all a friend wanted to discuss was her clubbing experience and her new relationship and didn’t understand why I wasn’t interested in the conversation.

What was fun to me before wasn’t so much fun again because motherhood changes your perspective about a lot of things. I missed attending a lot of birthday parties because they weren’t baby friendly ( I didn’t want any one smoking et al around my babies)

I am finally finding my feet and finding myself, my kids are growing older by the day and I am actually creating more time for friends and family. I can now reach out to others and be there for them more now.

This topic has caused a lot of problems ooooooooh.... explaining it here is easy but these people wont understand until they go thru what made you keep quiet....

A friend of mine still doesnt understand till today why i told her my phone is permanently on silent and i always miss her calls.....

She has been painfully TTC for years and under serious pressure... I also had to let her go cos she complained that i talk too much about kids and then i ddnt know what else to talk about, seriously? Motherhood overwhelmed me

NEW HOUSE GIST

On today's episode of New house gist,  i found this joint where they cook hot chicken, it's just very close to me here, infact most times when they're cooking this chicken, the aroma sends shiver down my spine:

So yesterday, we been no get soup, and we brought  some cooked fufu  from  my sister's place, I said make I buy like 500 naira chicken neck and matching ground atleast them go put the peppersoup  water and we go use am take swallow make the evening  pass:

 I was sitting down jejely waiting for my turn when suddenly I heard some schumu-schumu at the corner, i quietly turned and behold it was my landlady's daughter,  Chimooo,  I quickly packaged myself, set my antenna on high.

 this lady has kids but she lives with her mom and I never see anybody as the husband yet, na she be the person wey tell me say them de on water only morning and night for compound people because she de sell water (very rude lady), so I was so eager to know what she came to do.

Suddenly this grandpa appeared and sat with her, I thought maybe they had family meeting there but mba, it's enjoyment that brought them there, this shameless arugbo refused to respect himself,  he was just smooching and caressing this lady,  my eyes could no longer behold the iniquity, I come throwayface.

 I been de shout make dem serve me quickly but when I see gist,  I come calm down  (you know say life no need rush),  she had ordered chicken but I heard the man say ''if you eat this chicken, we must go ooo'' because she ordered before me, them serve am fess,  I sat there right in front of them, my ear de there, she ignored the man and devoured it like a hungry lion,and as she finished,the Oga now asked her ''are we going?'' She said no that her kids are alone at home...

To the astonishment of my eyes, arugbo got up and left, Okokobioko!! Whether she thought that the man was coming back,  I don't know ooo, well when it was time to pay, she said the man was coming, the owner of the shop told her that the man had left and he instructed them to collect money from her:

 I adjusted my seat cos I know that bottles will be flying soon, she now told them to allow her to go home and source for cash (Oloshi water seller), the woman refused,  infact the woman called her by her name and told her she won't allow her to go, the woman told her that she didn't want to sell to her at first, especially after her mom gave her a stern warning about selling anything to her, na so them begin drag the chic like Tiger generator,  she de shout, ''this one na see finish ooo, what kind of embarrassment is this'' 

for my mind i say no be by grammar, madam pay ya money, you no get money, you no wan do the do and yet you get long throat, me wey buy the long neck and matching ground with 500, you think say I no get sense? Mtchewwww 

Na so one man come waka come meet them, asked how much, by that time, Hanty don chop slaps,  them don tear her blouse join, them say na 3k, the man paid and she shamelessly walked past my table, she didn't see me ooo (even if she see me sef, I no care), so this morning I decided to sweep my backyard,  Can you believe me that this lady sat down with some girls there and was gisting them about how she spoiled herself silly last night, how she just went to the chicken joint and ate enough to her satisfaction,  got up,  paid and walked out like a boss lady, one was telling her that she's a bad person,  that why didn't she go with her ( Atenu oshi, them for beat you join),  infact the lie made me so angry that I carried my broom back into the house,  why will somebody be lying like this ?.... Mtchewwww 

Na wah for this drama for your new compound......

The Landlady's daughter is an Ahewo in disguise.

TESTIMONY AND GIVEAWAY

Hope you are doing well. I contacted you in 2020, when I had acquired an uncompleted home in a beautiful estate.
I am sharing a video of the finished property. Funny enough, I made this video about a month before we moved in around August last year, but never got a chance to send it to you as I got some life changing good news.


I got a job in the US, all the way from Nigeria and had to relocate the same last year ( without any connections, I got my visa without visiting the embassy, all that is a testimony for another day). I don't think I stayed in my property for up to 2 months. I had planned to share furnishing pictures with you, but had to change plans. I will still do more any time I visit naija.

With the kind of Job i do, I am already looking to buy a home here in the US, by God's grace.
