Priest Resigns And Begins Support For Polygamy:......

Rev. Ogbuchukwu Lotanna, an Anglican priest of Nnewi Diocese in Anambra State, has resigned his position as a priest of the church stating that he received a divine mandate to float a movement in support of polygamy.

He claimed that the divine mandate he received to float a movement was aimed at encouraging polygamy, with a vision to reducing the rate of s#xual sins in society.

He pointed out that polygamy is not a sin, contrary to what is generally being preached. He says thatt God hates divorce of any type, and sleeping with another man’s wife.
He insisted that God desired men to even marry more than one wife, instead of going for someone’s wife or ladies they were not married to.

He said the church had hidden this information from members for a long time and that it was high time people were told the truth.

He encouraged men to marry their ‘side chicks’ to escape hell fire, maintaining that the only thing wrong with polygamy was to stay in a church that was against the practice “because two cannot work unless they agree.”

He also disclosed that his new movement would be called “Gideonites”, while the place of worship would be called “Gideonites’ Temple”.

Lotanna was ordained an Anglican priest on December 22, 2019, at Cathedral Church of St. Mary’s Uruagu, Nnewi..

He is married to Chinyere Abigail....

  1. It's his decision to choose whatever marital status he wants to but he shouldn't infect the public with false knowledge and teachings.

Polygamy will not and never be a panacea of ending the rate of sexual sins in the society.

I hold nothing against polygamy and will never do. It's a traditional marriage system and culture of a people but trying to impose it on people as a way of lifestyle isn't encouraging.

    1. I am a Priest too, I believe his ideology, if I have my way, I will do same. Polygamy is not a crime. African church adopts polygamy too. It reduces sexual sin.

  2. You were ordained 2019 and 2022 , you out have read and seen the bible finish more than your fore-elders in church to publicly come out to say this.
Your family must be very disappointed and hiding in shame and i believe the you have been sleeping secretly with the lady you married. Its okay to get tired and give up on heavenly race but turning the bible upside down for some foolish reason whatsoever, then your judgement will be worse than a murderer.

    1. But Anglican priests are allowed to get married. It's not about him getting married but he's trying to get multiple wives and also encouraging people to tow same path the reason of his movement. Not that he wasn't allowed to marry unlike the Catholic church.

  4. Anything that glorifies male sexual irresponsibility can be excused because there is ample provision and leeway in the laws, state laws, societal norms or religious laws.

I wonder who told men women too don’t like playing the field. They claim testosterone is the game changer, but even if men may want sex more, who says it must be with another woman?

People do what they can get away with at the end of the day.

    1. My grouse with him is trying to pass a wrong narrative. I don't care what he choose to do with his life.

In your second paragraph, there are places women marries multiple husband. It's called Polyandry.

  5. Just 3 years after he was ordained Priest, all he could come up with is “Gideonites” and “Gideonites’ Temple”. Well, it's the last days, things like this are expected.
