For me,it was the shirt, the shirt had to be clean, maybe it was bcos it is the first thing you see when you look at a school child.The skirt too. I can't really say for sandals and socks.I just wasn't into cleaning of sandals everyday.
I think we were high on cleanliness back then than now,our teachers checked you from head to toe including nails and teeth and you would be discipline if found guilty. These days you see children dirty from head to toe going to school.Some don't even brush their teeth.You see little children and their teeth is rotten already.There were a few nuisance back then but these days seem worst.its like they don't discipline them anymore for cleanliness.
Firstlady,they don't discipline these children again o because they don't want to loose students,public schools are the worst,nobody cares.

ReplyDelete'Josiah...did not turn away from doing what was right.' 2 Chronicles 34:1-2 NLT
When Josiah became king, he cleansed Israel of idolatry and began rebuilding the temple. That's when a priest discovered some scrolls containing God's word. As Josiah heard what they said, he was deeply moved upon realising his people had drifted far from God. So he sent word to the prophetess Huldah as to what would become of the people. She said that since he had repented when he heard God's word, his nation would be spared while he lived (read 2 Chronicles 34:14-27). An entire generation received grace because of the integrity of one man, Josiah.
Josiah had a lot to overcome. His grandfather, Manasseh, was like the Hitler of the Old Testament. He filled Jerusalem 'from one end to the other with innocent blood' (2 Kings 21:16 NLT). And Josiah's father died at the hands of his own officers. 'He did what was wrong', most likely reads his epitaph. Josiah was only eight when he ascended the throne. Immediately he chose righteousness and didn't stop doing what was right all his life.
What's the point? You can't pick your parents, but you can pick your role models. You can't change your past, but you can rise above it. Your parents may have given you your DNA, but Jesus will give you a new beginning. 'Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children' (Ephesians 5:1 NIV). Your past doesn't have to be your prison. You have a say in your life, you have a voice in your destiny, and you have a choice in the path you take. So choose well, and someday - generations from now - others will thank God for your legacy.

She gave them drinks and was so excited too.

ReplyDeleteTeachers have resumed today, students will resume next Monday. My heart have started doing gbim gbim gbim when I remember school fees, snacks, textbooks and notebooks(new session, new class), etc. God will provide.
Over the weekend, I washed their school bags, lunch bags plus school shoes. I have packed the ones that need mending, on my way back in the afternoon I will stop over at the bag repairer's place and give them to him for mending, he mends shoes too. I cannot do pass myself.
I just pray they pay us for the summer lesson that we did so I can make my hair before Monday. This proprietor likes gbese too much. Haba!
