INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD



There are things I learnt randomly while reading about motherhood and child care before I had my first. Bathing children with liquid antiseptic “dettol” and medicated soap is not necessary unless skin issues are involved. Learnt that just one of the two is enough, so one doesn’t kill off both the good and bad bacteria on the skin.

Bathing new born baby twice in a day is said to unnecessary since babies don’t move about really. A warm wet clothe is okay to wipe away any dirt or milk product on the baby. Bathing a baby twice daily is said to dry out the skin.

White powder should be avoided around a baby’s nose and face because it is said to cause breathing issues in babies.

Nothing apart from gel and sometimes spirit should be used for the umbilical cord. All other method of applying heat and so on is said to be unnecessary.

Baby should not be shaken vigorously and thrown up and down, the neck muscles of a baby is said to be weak and shaking it can cause permanent brain damage. Also babies should not be lifted up with their hands ,it can get dislocated.

Baby metholatum rub and eucalyptus oil should be avoided for babies. Baby metholatum ontains eucalyptus oil. The cineole present in eucalyptus oil can create nervous and breathing-related problems in babies. It's is also known to cause stomach issues in babies. Yet its the go too for African moms for cold and congestion

Newborns to six months old don’t need water. Breast milk it's sufficient and a constantly breast fed baby can't be dehydrated because breast milk is made up of eighty seven percent water.

Herbs should be avoided also ( drinking) for new born.

A new born baby if not born with sickness does not need much until they are a little older..

Please do not bath your new born baby twice a day......

IDO OSU

Today I want to go the traditional way as a proud local babe that I am.  I really  do not know how to translate the headline to English, biko pardon, maybe you'll understand it as you read through or someone can help out, special shout out to XP momma

     This topic came to mind because of the plenty happenings in my local and part of our culture 

   Ido osu is like appeasing the gods of the land to calm their anger or to stop killings in an extended family.  And to stop these sudden deaths, alot of money is required, money that runs into millions is what is required to get the items to appease the gods, which is why people in my local try not to get involved in anything that has to do with the gods. Of course there is freedom of worship, everybody stays in their lane. 

    Sometimes ago, I anchored a seminar in the church and we were trying to balance things up and know people's opinions. Alot of people believe there is nothing like deity, evil spirits and gods of a land, while others believe that God did not take power from Satan and that spiritual forces abounds. It was really an interesting program. Some believe we should give Ceaser what belongs to ceaser and God what belongs to God.

Back to the topic. My friends father is one of those terrorizing the villa with his charms, he has manipulated a lot of people, even his kids knows. He takes peoples land forcefully, just recently the gods visited him and he must do the 'Ido osu',  if not an entire generation will be wiped out. 

His son who returned from the abroad Has to use the money he's supposed to use for his projects to do Ido osu. This man knew the land he was dragging wasn't his own, he went as far as paying people to accompany him to the shrine to turn the face of the gods in his favor, guess what happened, his witness was killed, another was a given warning.

  Just few weeks ago, a man died and it was rumourd that an evil spirit killed him, why?

He was having issues with someone and the other man went to summon him in a shrine. He was sent for to clear himself, but he refused to attend. When the time he was given was exhausted, they sent the deity after him and now he's no more...

The koko now be sey, no member of his household is safe, which is why people avoid these kind of cases. If his family doesn't go to that shrine to do the idu osu, everyone will be wiped out. And to do the idu osu no be moimoi where I come from, if you no get money, you go sell property tire. 

  Another one is currently going on in one of the largest family in my villa right now. These people live in a very large compound like 1/3 of the community, they share things in common. Someone came to ask for one of their daughter's hand in marriage and paId the dowry. They usually share the money realized amongst themselves no matter how small. But the parents and the immediate family of this girl didn't bring out the money as was the norm. The others got angry and decided to do otherwise 

Two of them went to the village shrine to cry that they want to divide the family , naso people begin die for the family. Both young and old and even people that didn't know what these evil men went to do also died. 

My prayers everyday is 'what I do not know or partake in will never know or claim my life'. Let owners of evil loads carry their loads. Ometrani Jeh, isseee

   My sis always say that juju na useless and senseless thing, e go harm people wey no know anything leave the people wey bring the cause, but I refuse it for me and my household.  These deity is going about killing innocent, young, bright and the light of these families. People just dey fear now for that family, they've been calling meetings upon meetings to look for how to raise the money to do the appeasing 

 I was told the priest of the shrine where they went to cry will be the one to tell them what to buy for the idu osu. Cow dey oh, tortoise, goats, fowls, baskets, omu, and all the ngwakatra na ngwakatras

 Some people sey these things don't work yet on weekends like this, cars go park in front of these juju priest doormots dey find one thing or the other. These ido osu is one culture or tradition I really do not like.

MONDAY CHRONICLES POSTER

Hey Stella! 

Please help me post. I just want to clarify some comments concerning my Chronicles. 

Some bv's said am scared of my husband.no am not scared of him, as a matter of fact I have discussed the issue of his elder sister dropping her kids in my house in the past.i told him is not convenient for me because the children are stressing me seriously beside their grandmother is alive which is my mother inlaw she should drop her kids for her mother not me, and he agreed with me that is not easy for me; the only problem is that he has refused to address his sister concerning that.

 Whenever his family wrongs me he is always aware that what they do is wrong but his problem is confronting his family or resolving issues pertaining his family is zero, as he would just be mute or pretend even if his offended. That is one of my major issues with him, he doesn't know how to put his family in their place and I don't want to do that on his behalf so they don't tag me as a bad wife or someone trying to take their son away from them that's why I wished he can handle his family or defend me to them as I don't want to get involved in inlaw trouble.

I am a very calm person and I try to avoid any thing that will trigger problem and I also find it hard confronting people no matter how they might have wrong me,I think that is my weakness that's why my in-laws are using it for their advantage.

 The only people am very open to are my siblings n mum,I can tell them anything and if they are wrong I can still confront them I just find it hard seeing my hubby letting his family do whatever they want even though he knows is wrong and won't say anything. 

Some one said am a pretender that's why my husband married me.thats not true,have always been my self from the on set, It is my husband that wants me to become someone else, because according to him all married women are supposed to be homely, like taking care of the chores and kids alone. 

He knew the kind of person I was before he married me,he waited till he married me before he started complaining to my family that i am lazy,I don't like waking up early, I don't cook early, I don't perform my wife duties. I was shocked hearing all that because he never acted like that was a problem before and after some months we got married. 

It was when his younger sister though she is older than me came to spend some weeks with us before leaving, came around that he started seeing so many errors in me. but we've been leaving peacefully before she came so why now. He even accused me of not liking his family, that am not happy they're around, I won't cook for them...the accusations was much, I was just surprised all that was coming from him never knew he was pretending all along.

 My family had to call me to caution me, that was when I decided to change for peace to reign even though I wasn't happy with him. About him being so attached to his family, I never knew that about him because we were not residing at the same location with his family so I never knew how attached he was to them till we relocated due to work reasons to same location with his family, that's when I started seeing another side of my husband have never seen before,to think I felt I knew him I was just realising the person I got married to as his family made him reveal his real self to me.

 I really don't know if I still love him as am still getting to know him because whom I thought I feel in love with is not same person am seeing right now. My story is really long don't really have strength to type

Na wah.............I really dont know what to say but it looks like your husband does not want to confront his family for reasons best known to him and maybe for your good.. Please find your way to handling these people......

SLAVERY IN DISGUISE

This is not funny again and I'm beginning to get worried about how some parents train up their child most especially the males. It is so disheartening and heart-breaking to see a man treat his wife like trash.


Using myself as a case study(my wife will bear me witness cuz she is a bv also). My younger sister who came visiting never for once stressed my wife because they all know my rules. They know I so much accord respect to my wife and also respect my family and I don't combine both based on my kind of person.


Men should learn how to work hand-in-hand with their spouse for peace and love to reign. As for me, on Saturdays, it's either I'm busy washing the clothes and she is busy cooking and cleaning the environment or other way round. I do this not because it's part of me but because I love and cherish my wife and making her happy will automatically leads to submission.(I don't need to force her or command her to be submissive).


Men should note that, stressing your wife won't make her look sexy like those chicken  legs you are running after after close of work because she has being over stressed by your negligence and wickedness towards HOUSE CHORES coupled with the kids at home..it's very unfair as a man who knows what it takes to a responsible father and a reliable husband to a virtue woman.


Women on the other hand should be very careful and patient in choosing a partner because all that glitters are not gold because before, na woman Dem say make we train well but now, reverse is the case because when you see the way some men treat their wives, you will think they sold her to him. 

Men should please stop the following

*stop stressing your wife
*Help her out with house chores
*Appreciate her always
*Learn to make your families take responsibility of anything done when they visit you and stop turning her to a slave
*Put yourself in her shoes and consider her before taking any actions.


Have said my own but I know the strong head will still saying I'm talking trash.
