  1. Hmmm. Mine was really bad. I start taking pain meds b4 my period comes, and when it comes, the floor becomes my bed. Period stays for 2weeks, heavy bleeding, and the back pain no be am. Sex was always painful, like I can' even describe it. And then I looked pregnant, to the point my Mums friend congratulated me on my "pregnancy"๐Ÿคฃ. Had to take them out cos the pain and discomfort every month no be am. And then I couldn't get pregnant cos the "father fibroid" was at the entrance of my womb, the "mother fibriod" was relaxing on my bladder, and their multiple children were growing. Recovery wasn't smooth. I lost a lot of blood and my body rejected the blood transfusion. Spent 2weeks in the hospital, and then it took me about 3months before i could bend. But I'm here. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. Ladies, if you have the means to take them out, PLEASE DO.

    3. Beejay, if you are at the point they are calling you Mama Ibeju, please take it out oh. Some people will be saying wait till you are ready to take in but your life and health first, let it not get to the point of more complications. I have heard of cases where the uterus had to be removed cos it had become too large.

My stomach was still flat cos my uterus is deep set but I could feel it a large one, a medium one and several small ones, my fiance could also feel it during sex, I was very lucky that there was no pains, just normal 5 days but very heavy bleeding, tranexamic acid and fesolate helped me till I took it out 2 weeks after my wedding, almost 2 years and no pregnancy yet but i'm happy to be alive and healthy.

  2. Make every start to eat fresh fruits and vegetables everyday and watch how these things will flee from you. You will have sound health and overall well being. Your immune system (for an individual born healthy with no auto immune wahala etc)was designed by God to handle these things with no extra medications trust me. And na good diet, plenty water, and good sleep and rest naim go build your immunity...that is all you need.

  3. Mine is currently sitting on my fallopian tubes right now. No pregnancy until they are taken out according to my doctor. Even after the surgery there is no guarantee of pregnancy which I reject in Jesus name. The doctor is suggesting IVF treatment. I have been trying to conceive but no luck yet.

Where do I start from, I discovered that I had fibriod during the lockdown period, my menstruation flow was normal and is still normal (No heavy flow, no pain etc except frequent urination) my mother did not want me to have an operation. We decided to go the traditional way, for almost a year I was going to the Ijaw woman for a treatment once a week that was in year 2021, I stop going to the woman place when I did not see any result.
So by the month May in the year 2022, we decided to see a specialist in Teaching hospital in Sagamu and I have run series test, the only test delaying me now is HSG and I have been treating infection for the past 2 months now. The Radiologist said I needed to treat the infection before he can proceed with the test.

  6. I'm scheduled for surgery next week, so so scared. As anyone tried any herbal treatment that worked? Mine are multiple and quite big, l have left it for more than 7 years. My doctor sister said they may ask me to remove everything which l pray not because am ttc. The doctor advised that I should go for ivf after the surgery which l cannot even afford. Where do we have cheap ivf treatments in lagos?
    Pls pray for me

    1. Those herbal things don’t work. My sister tried it from a year, she was even buying from a man in Jamaica ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ, it made it worse. She had to so surgery to remove them

    2. I did myomectomy(fibroid surgery) in 2019.
Thos the fibroids were very small but i did it because the doctor said it was blocking my fallopian tubes. True the hsg scan i had after the surgery shows my tubes are patent. Whereas the hsg i did before the surgery shows blocked tubes.
But instead of going through open surgery for fibroid, please do hysteroscopy if you have the money. Its about 400k or less in some hospitals. Its not very common so please you can find out about the hospitals doing it.
And you wont be cut atall, the instrument will go through your vaginal. And all the fibroid will be removed.
Seeing this fibroid scar as a ttc is not something thats pleasing atall.
So please if you can save up the money, go for hysteroscopy.

      Delete
    3. Pls forget abt this anything herbal. It will degenerate the fibroid and make it worse . Just make sure you eat fruits n veg before your surgery. You will need your blood level to be up

      Delete
    4. Pls anon 16:08 can hysteroscopy remove very large fibriods?

      Delete
    5. Anon 21:38.
Yes, hysteroscopy can. Talk to a Doctor.
I think its safer and more comfortable than open surgery. Healing is faster too.

  9. I had multiple fibroid, mine was so big that on my wedding day people thought I was pregnant. After wedding I flew back to the states, my GYN was telling me to leave it becos it was they were all out the Uterus hanging on it. The pain during sex and my period was something else. Few months later I told my GYN that I want to take it out. You need to see the big scar that was on my tummy to tell you how big it is was. They refuse to show it to me. He told me he didn’t take everything out because, there were little ones that was not disturbing anything. He said he didn’t want to like a lot of scar tissue because he want to increase my chance of Having kids. I was told to wait at least 6months to a year b4 trying to have kids because of the surgery. One year later I got pregnant. To God be the glory we have two kids now. If you must do the surgery, please do your research and look for a good doctor.

  10. I got to know I had fibroid when I was ttc, my in laws practically forced us to go to these Ijaw women, when she told me I was shocked and did not believe her because I had no symptoms ( to the best of my knowledge) the funny thing is I was already pregnant but did not know. It was when I registered for antenatal and did a scan the gynecologist told me I had fibroid and advised me to drink lots of water to reduce pain, and it really worked.

7 years after with 3 children, I suffer heavy periods, frequent urination and have a big tummy I don't know if I should take it out or just manage with these few discomforts.

  17. When I discovered i had fibroid last year I said to myself I won't even dare surgery. A friend told me if it is not disturbing you and your feet are not swollen just let it be; but it seems it heard our discussion and started full force trouble on me.
I would wake up more than 5 times from 10pm till 6am to urinate(it has pressed my bladder so bad to the extent that I barely sleep cause my consciousness is wired to every hour of full bladder.

I am always full and bloated and never hungry. I can't take ginger and garlic mix I would get swollen like I was pumped. If I have a business outside or market runs I would first ask for the nearest and neatest rest room around cause in 3hours of being in the market I would have used the rest room like 5 times without eating or drinking anything. I was scared to eat or drink water any time from 5pm. Then my discharge comes like fountain....at times horrible disturbing smell I can't even stand myself. My God!
Then from nowhere I started bleeding, bleeding non stop. Father Lord I give you all the glory, honour and praise for seeing me through this journey. Only Jesus did it. I saw what came out of me and I know it can only be God. It weighed 4:4cm, bigger than a newborn. Please, every woman should go for abdominal scan cause the scan showed I have had it for well over 3years, which means I was feeding and breeding it unknowingly no herbs in this world can shrink fibroid. That thing is like a mass of wrapped muscle. It is so strong that it does not have a dent if you press it. If you are diagnosed with fibroid don't let anybody scam you with the guise of herbal mixture cause that thing I saw, even acid can't melt it. Go for surgery with determination, faith and prayers and have peace of mind. Thank God I am free at last.

  18. At the end of 2019 my period just changed and became very very heavy and equally painful; I was so perplexed because all my life I struggle to even have my period for 3 days and the pain was bearable; after 2 days blood don finish. After 3 months I rang the doctor and I was sent for a scan.

Scan revealed I had fibroid I was shocked. Doctor gave me some medication to stop the heavy blood flow during my period and that they are small but should I want to have more kids I have to let the doctor know.

Right now my flow is still super heavy but I’m skinny and I can’t feel any fibroid when I’m not on my period as in my belly is flat that a table but when my period is coming I’m bloated and I can feel one of them shoot out but when my period is done my belly goes back to being flat like a table.

  19. I was 19 when I discovered I had fibroid, it wasn't disturbing me then, not until a year after, I was with my friends after exams, I started bleeding, I bled lumps of blood, to the point that I didn't even need have to wear pad, just tied wrapper and let it drop, the lumps were pumping out like babies, I was a shadow of myself, until I gathered courage and went back home, I was rushed to the hospital and was transfused 2pints of blood immediately, then given drugs to curtail the bleeding. I was operated on that same week, and the doctor advised I get married if I was in a serious relationship, obviously I wasn't ready for marriage and I wasn't done with school either. Fast forward to 3 years later, I got married and I got pregnant a month after my wedding. To the glory of God I have 2 children. My cousin and sister who operated theirs after mine still don't have children yet. The grace of God is ever sufficient in my life. To all those TTC, God is still there, hold on, you will carry your babies soon in his unmeasurable name. Amen

  22. Reading everyone's post and I want to share, but where do I start from cos mine is a long read? In 2010, I followed my sister who was pregnant for a scan, after she had her scan, the Dr. said everything is fine, no fibroids. I was a very inquisitive person and just wanted to ask questions. Like play he asked me to lay down and make him check me, I quickly laid down excitedly while my sister watched laughing cos I mean, I no come for a check-up cos I was healthy. He did his magic and announced he could see Fibroid in my Tommy. I swear, I thought it was a joke cos I mean, we were playing with the Dr. He was not laughing again and repeated it but said they were small. He pulled out an object and showed me the size.

Back then, it felt like someone had just said to me, that I had HIV cos from that day my life changed with that information. I forgot, he asked if I was dating or had a fiance, that I should do and get married, and have babies, b4 they grew bigger and Dr.s begin to tell me stories.

I went home, I couldn't sleep, in my mind I was worried. From that day, I began to speed Date, every man became potential and my mistakes followed. At this point, it was just there, there were no symptoms yet. As years went by, it began to grow bigger. By 2013, and 2014, it was visible, when I laid down it bulged. 2014, I had friends asking I watch my belle, b4 I start looking pregnant. I had to say, oh maybe its cos because I just ate.

In 2014, I met my now ex-husband, 2 weeks into the relationship I told him about it. I laid down, placed his hand on my stomach, and asked him "do u feel anything?" and he said "yes". In my mind, I wanted to use the information to chase him away cos I did not like him I said, " it's fibroid". He looked at me and asked if I could have kids with it and I said yes cos they are still small. He said to me, cos I want to marry u. In my mind, I was like "see man way I want pursue".

By 2015, we were preparing for marriage and by this time, the Fibroids were beginning to be symptomatic. I had lower Tommy aches each time my bladder was full cos one of them was pressing on my bladder. I was always pressed, traveling was an nightmare cos he had to ask the driver to stop cos I could urinate. When it was not convenient cos it cos of the safety of other passengers, I would be squirming in pain, why did he holds on and kept asking the driver to stop.

  23. We finally got married, and for a year there was no pregnancy, oh, l refuse to talk about that experience. Pregnancy came, it was a miracle, it was our 1st year anniversary gift, cos I asked God for one. A month and two weeks old, it was as if I was 5 months pregnant. My Tommy size increased with speed, it was alarming. One afternoon, as I passed in front of the TV, I heard boop and there was blood rushing down my ties. I was losing the pregnancy, I had to lay down but the bleeding continued, I was waiting for my sister whom my ex-husband had called to come to take me to the hospital. Getting to the hospital, the scan could not find the gestational sac cos the Fibroid was so big they could barely view it. It took the head Dr. who had more experience to find it, but it was almost empty and they needed to evacuate. No road to pass anything as Fibroid had blocked the entrance to my womb.

I had to be admitted and given Misoprostol to remove what was left, e no work after several days of pain. My sister had to take me to a clinic in Abuja, where they finally were able to do it. Let me leave out, dealing with the emotional pain of losing what I had prayed for a year to have.

After the evacuation came non-stop bleeding that pads could not hold. I remember, one Sunday, I was in Church with my ex, I stood up for prayers and blood dripped down my pads, thank God I had on ankara with red colour on it. I just felt a gush down into my red matching shoes. I tapped my ex, told him and we walked out.I forgot to mention, at this point my ex and family had been pumping money on herbs with no result. The Fibroids had become calcified, 2 big ones, the size of a baby's head.

I booked for surgery to remove them, myomectomy was done, let me leave out recovery details cos it was rough due to the size. I was feverish for a month, sepsis was suspected but to God be the glory it was not.

After 6 months, I started trying for babies, no way. Well, I lost the marriage cos my ex impregnated someone else. It was after returning to my parents, that I decided to go to the hospital to ask why there had been no pregnancy. HSG showed both of my tubes were blocked from scar tissues during recovery. I was told the only way for kids is IVF. I am still hopeful to remarry and be a mother soon. Let me stop here as hand dey pain me from typing

Laparoscopy or hysteroscopy can remove scar tissues.

Today, I have 3 kids from 2 pregancies, 2nd pregnancy was smooth and fibroids didn't disturb my babies.

Guys, after taking it out from a good and reputable hospital, adopt a healthy lifestyle of eating lots of veggies and fruits, reduce or ditch alcohol and excercise should be part of your routine.. All the best to those still trusting God.
