Saturday Breakfast Post....

Having a good Breakfast is very important.......






Is it Moin moin and bread or Moin moin and Ijebu garri for you? Garri is not so healthy but the combination of moinmoin and ijebu garri rocks!

My breakfast was a left over of my favourite food in the whole wide world..(guess) .lol

  15. Garri wey go Harvard na balanced diet o..🤣 The list of selected courses are Milk/sweetened yoghurt, Sugar/honey, Ice cubes, freshcoconut shavings, Pecan/Almond/groundnut, drops of fresh lemon(artificial Ijebu sour sensation) etc. 😉

  22. Akara with custard dey my mind but because of the stress of fry akara, make I kukuma settle for Quaker oats. I will make it thick so it will be satisfying.

  26. Stella, garri is very healthy, we need to stop this narrative that Nigerian foods aren’t healthy. Don’t buy into the US propaganda to discredit anything from Africa and then turn around to manufacture same foods in a non sustainable manner and resell to us.

    Garri is healthier than wheat and all it’s by-products (bread and co), those are high in gluten which can deplete gut microbiome and lead to insulin resistance.

    It is rich in complex carbs and fibre that are good for digestion because they slow down the release of insulin into the blood.
    Ijebu garri is especially good for gut health because it can be classified as a fermented food (long fermentation time) which aids gut health by providing probiotic and prebiotic advantages.
    If you’re trying to lose weight, just reduce your garri quantity and eat with lots of veggies and protein in your soup.
    Stella abeg sis, no let me find this comment oh, I rarely comment here but this is my field of study and I feel very strongly about all the misconceptions being passed around about our food.

    2. I had a taste of kimchi once and it was so sour. I later heard it’s one of the best things to eat because it’s fermented. Pls give more info on beneficial fermented food because me I like sour foods especially those containing vinegar. Thank you o. Ayettymama

  37. Breakfast I had a carrot, 2 boiled eggs and my soya milk tea with pure cocoa and stevia sweetener. Watching my sugar levels so I am very careful of my carb intake. Lunch is small rice and peas then dinner will probably have fish..
