Niger Republic Denies Receiving 10 Vehicles Worth N1.15 Billion From Nigerian Government

Niger Republic has denied receiving 10 vehicles allegedly purchased by the President Muhammadu Buhari government for N1.15 billion.

The story had broken out that President Buhari approved the purchase of 10 vehicles for Niger Republic but Niger Republic’s Minister of Defence, Alkassoum Indatou denied the donation. He says only Zamfara State that has come to the aid of the country with five vehicles mainly on account of the repeated efforts of Nigerien forces in safeguarding Nigerian territory from terrorists.

The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed had admitted the allocation of the funds used for the purchase of the vehicles, saying that it was the president’s prerogative.

Indatou, who spoke on behalf of the President of Niger Republic said:

“It is only the State of Zamfara which has given five vehicles to the Maradi region, four of which have already been received, it is not the federal government as the Minister of Finance of Nigeria Zainab Ahmed declared,” said in a translation of the French statement of a top Nigerien official privy to the issues.

“The population of Zamfara who are on the border with Niger call more on the Nigerien soldiers who respond to the minute than even those of their own country,” he added.

    1. What has been exposed? The lie David Hundeyin dished out to you because we all hate this government, or the country of Niger’s government denying that they received nothing. At least if anyone was truthful then I believe this new. Because they didn’t deny the news about Zamfara. You guys should be at least objective. No need to use sentiments and emotions to react to everything that comes from Nigeria.

Where were you when the Finance Minister confirmed the purchase and gift as being within the President's prerogative to make?

Maybe she counted on Cousin Niger's understanding.

It is good to defend government, our party, or our beloved government officials. But is it good to defend on lies?

  9. It is our fault jare. Can't blame Niger republic at all. Who wouldn't cash out from a stupid, self destructive neighbour that resists reason, caution and help. Sadly , we are preparing or rather set to allow ourselves be installed another disaster next year except something happens.
Nigeria is only being patched for a couple of months, things are set to turn really desperate soon. You see that common sense of not selling your votes for 3k, 5k, 3-square meal affording Nigerians have been saying, the higher quarters have been interpreted as extreme arrogance and rebellious spirit. Nigerians have been given a price whether you guys like it or not. The youthful movement set to overthrow them have not fully grasped the extent of their desperation yet if not they would move even more silent and strategically.

    2. @11:17, the comment is very well connected to the news. Recall that the Minister of Finance confirmed that indeed the FG spent said amount from Nigeria's money on security vehicles for Niger. If Niger is denying it, then what was the monies actually used for? Lets all be guided by the facts and not our sentiments!
