  2. Jumping from ASUU strike to wanting to get married is distasteful.
How is that even an option??
Will her problems automatically end when she gets married??
Shouldn't she be thinking of avenues to keep herself busy and also earn from it.
That's why there is abject poverty in that part of the country.
Northerners abeg do better,Una too backward minded to say the least🤮🤮

  3. Her own is even better, some have resolved to full time stealing, yahooing even prostitution due to this nonsense while those that have the money to learn one or two skills have done so too

  4. Not someone that publicises acts of charity but I ran into a lecturer drinking pepsi & fried groundnuts, I got him a pie, you need to see appreciation on his face.

Some days back, at an All Night Wake session, someone brought food for Umuada, e no put fish or meat, e begin dey beg umuada say bcos strike, she & her horseband, both lecturers could not afford.

If you see university towns, especially suburban...hmmm...ASUU dey fight with Buhari that has nothing to lose. Ajala the traveller dey cruise since, him don marry all him daughters, na his kinsmen dey cause tumult everywhere...imagine someone that still travelled when his convoy was attacked in his own backyard o...you think say him send whether you as lecturer enter class or enter farm

  7. I stayed a total of 26 months because of ASUU STRIKES

    1992 6 months
    1993 6 months
    1994 8 months
    1996 6 months
Yet, I waited, graduated and got married.
I am not from the north and I understand the pressure due to their unusual norms.
The best way to avoid temptations is to find a meaningful occupation. In my own case,
I began some charity works in prisons, motherless babies, churches etc. And I began studying
my bible the more and fasting and praying.

  9. What is the point of education of it doesn't empower?

You've been out of school for a few months and you've not been able to apply the body of knowledge accrued from primary 1 to perhaps 2nd year in university into something meaningful that occupies your time and brings money? Had you raised some chickens or goats, you'll have raised something by now. If you went into tailoring, you would have headed basic cuts and some things about business. Primary school education was all that Rasaq Okoya and Cosmas Maduka required to get them started.

This kind of mindset is what is prevalent in most of the people behind desks today especially in government offices. No one owes you anything in life please. Go online and see videos of a graduate of Harvard art school earning less than minimum wage as a dancer in Disneyland.

What will you use to feed the children and how will you support your family if your husband is rendered jobless or he falls I'll? Do you think your parents are foolish to opt for school knowing the option of marriage was there? They obviously want better for you than you can dream.

Go online today and start an online course in line with what you are studying. Check for any kind of scholarship online as a woman from a disadvantaged part of Nigeria. Learn to make hair or perfumes that you can sell online. Put your brain to good use now that you are still young and without dependents. Don't use the excuse of the strike to ruin your life. It took AY seven years or so to graduate and strike wasn't his issue.

I hope the parents sacrificing to serve her to a state run school see this and step in before a man of equally no vision finds her.
