ReplyDeleteGrew up to meet it in our house and was told it was my moms wedding gift from Mary league.
ReplyDeleteHehehe!! Memories ππHow can I forget butterfly double burner kerosene stove? Blue with white dotsππππ we had the table top single and the standing one double...once the bottle storage of kerosene breaks, that's the end πΆπΌ♀️πΆπΌ♀️πΆπΌ♀️
ReplyDeleteMama's favourite. She still use the table top type of it till today. This month I went home. I asked to buy a gas cooker for her. She said no. The irony is kerosene is now more expensive to use than cooking gas.
ReplyDeleteThis stove was then a status symbol.
Yes oooo, we had it in our kitchen, think it was color red... Good memories
ReplyDeleteYes we had it. The best stove ever. very strong and good. Memory of when Nigeria was good and livable. Anybody wey see this stove suppose don marry get children seriously
ReplyDeleteAnd if Dem no get children
DeleteMake Dem praise GOD and continue to live life
Yeah we had exactly this type then. Now gas cooker has taken over.
ReplyDeleteMy mum has it till today in another colour though;hardly stains her pot self as it's blue flame(you have to set the burner wellπ) but she uses more of gas and electric plate now as we do have good power supply at Aba..
ReplyDeleteKerosene now is more expensive self..
@MARTINS
Multi purpose stove. That year, we dey keep shoes for the first layer. Then books, cutlass, hoe and hand fan for the next layer.....
ReplyDeleteWe had this exact colour. My mum would make sure we clean it every morning.
ReplyDeleteThis was like Rich man's gas in the trenches o. Now people cannot even buy kerosene now sef. May God help us in this country.
We had it far back, same colour. The good old days.

Ooh memories.....I remember the how you have to quickly flip the glass kerosene tank over after filling it and carefully fix it into the chamber in order to avoid wasting ur kerosene. Chai!!!
ReplyDeleteMy mum never had the pleasure of using this, she was a struggling widow,we only see this in neighbors house, but nowππ, nama dey fly go Yankee anyhow, give people free food. Baba God I thank you o, growing up we never had Milo or likes, butter for whereπ€£π€£
ReplyDeleteThis just made me smile. The good old days.
ReplyDeleteWe had lt back then, exactly this colour,my mum doesn't allow us go close then to avoid us breaking the kerosene bottle storage π
ReplyDeleteI saw the fake in the market here recently.
Remember the good old days
ReplyDeleteI don't know this one o
ReplyDeleteWhich home didn't use this then. One of the very best. Burns well, and very durable too. The warning is *be mindful of the glass tank" else na serious flogging and punishment be that o.
ReplyDeleteWe had two in our kicthen, this stirs memory of my beloved late father.
