Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, gave the approval of a flat rate increase by N100 in fares on Thursday, June 30,2022.
This applies to all Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Standard routes.
According to the report, with the increase, a BRT bus ride from Ikorodu – TBS will now cost N600 from N500; while Berger to Ajah is now N700, up from N600. Oshodi to Abule Egba will cost N450 from N350 and Abule-Egba-CMS-Obalende will attract a fare of N600.
The Governor, in consenting to the fare increase also approved a proposal for a bailout for the bus operating companies (route franchise operators/concessionaires); in order to cushion the effect of the harsh operating environment; safeguard private partnership investment, and forestall the demise of formalised bus operations in the state.

ReplyDeleteWith little element of constructive reasoning.
ReplyDeleteWhat of the price of diesel and other things comes back to normal, will they as a leader, willing to go back to the normal fares prices?
Again, what happens to the minimum wages paid the the state government workers? I think that also should be increased and implemented immediately.
Just my take
They never reduce the amount...rather they look for different avenue to increase it and make more from the masses
DeleteRubbish
ReplyDeleteWhy not reduce the looting salaries and allowances that poli-tricksters are being allowed to loot?

DeleteApc and Pdp has nothing to offer us from 2023, rather they will impoverish us the more. Get your pvc and vote an educated, competent, healthy, young, considerate, empathetic, kind and incorruptible candidate in the name of Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate and thank me later.

ReplyDeleteAnd no salary increase
ReplyDeleteThe reality on ground is that operational cost is high. It's normal and besides, 100 naira is minimal and reasonable.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't Lagos State cushion this cost to help the masses? Are we honestly saying there's no money anywhere budgeted to cushion the cost of diesel and other operational costs?
DeleteSay No to PDP and APC, let all these old thieves excuse us to build our nation.
It’s BATs brother that heads BRT. Go figure. Lmaooo. They will share Nigeria like bread when he gets to Abuja
DeleteThe masses know how much fuel, especially diesel, has increased worldwide. 100 naira increase is very reasonable compared to the commercial option.
DeleteIs this the best move for the masses .
