EX Nigerian Lawmaker Robinson Uwak Responds To Reports That He Abducted His Kids From Wife Snatched By Another Lawmaker

Ex lawmaker Robinson Uwak and his wife Kezia are estranged because Benjamin Kalu, the Spokesperson for the Nigerian house of Reps allegedly snatched her...

This is a press release where he denies that he abducted his Children or caused any havoc at his estranged in laws house as is being circulated....

He also documents how his wife was allowed to address the National Assembly Press Corps over the snatching issue 

''My attention has been drawn to the slanderous video circulated by my estranged wife, Mrs Kezia Uwak. She made spurious allegations, accusing me of attacking her with a machete and a knife alone in the house. She also claimed I attacked her aged parents by 2am in the night and abducted our one-year-old twin children.


I refused to join issues with my estranged wife in honour of my late mother, who I lost three days after Kezie's first malicious publication. However, these allegations can no longer be dismissed.


In her recent video, my wife claimed that she hasn't been in contact with Benjamin Kalu for 3 years. She also claimed that she contacted Kalu and his media team three weeks ago when she reached out to him for a job.


This is a fabricated and a calculated attempt by her and Kalu to spin her way out of the adultery that ravaged our marriage in the last two years.

This is the truth:
• I, Robinson Uwak, in a bid to seek a quiet resolution of my marital problems contacted the elder statesman and distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic, His Excellency Orji Uzor Kalu. I aired my displeasure about Benjamin Kalu’s illicit relationship with my wife, Kezia, which Benjamin never refuted. Rather he called me a small boy, threatening to spin it terribly for me.

• In less than 24 hours, he flew my wife from Calabar to Abuja, lodged her in a hotel and summoned an emergency meeting of the National Assembly Media Press. He ordered them to prepare for a media briefing. He, (Benjamin Kalu) brought my wife to the National Assembly. He gave her unilateral access to the briefing room and lectern to speak to journalists of the National Assembly's press corps whose primary duty is to "cover activities and goings-on" in the House of Representatives. This was simply to make do of his threat to twist the tale terribly for me.


• It took the intervention of the Speaker of the House of Rep, Femi Gbajabiamila, to dismiss Kalu and Kezia from the media briefing centre. He also ordered journalists not to use the unauthorized briefing materials they had received.


With this, there is no gainsaying then that Benjamin Kalu compromised his office as Committee Chairman on Media. He also violated his oath of office just to silence me. See the proof attached.


Kezia Uwak, who is now posting as Kezia Irek, shamefully took down the post she made about addressing the National Assembly titled "NASS UPDATE". This is the same person who claims to have lost communication with Benjamin for three years. She also claimed that she only reached out to him three weeks ago to ask him for a job but somehow she was granted access to the National Assembly to address members of the Press Corp of the National Assembly.


Hence, may I categorically state that I did not physically abuse my estranged wife, Kezia Irek, in any form. Rather, I defended myself from Kezia who tried unsuccessfully to stab me.


This matter, as Kezia well knows, has entered into its second month of police investigation. See proof as attached.


Kezia is being investigated for adultery, conspiracy to commit culpable homicide/murder, criminal defamation and a breach of the cybercrime act.


Attached also is proof of the ongoing investigation.


• Finally, I did not abduct our children from Kezia. This is false. They are my children as well. Kezia absconded with the children and took them to a hotel paid for by her boyfriend – Kalu. After a frantic search, I found out that Kalu was lodging my wife and my kids in a hotel in Abuja. When she got the drift that I was aware of her location, she moved the kids to Calabar. I was advised by well-meaning people to keep calm.


Whilst in Calabar, I continued to send money to Kezia for the upkeep of the children. Proof attached also. Yet, my children were getting little medical attention from her. When I went to take my kids, they looked sick and grossly malnourished. One of them had a terrible cough.


She failed to show up for their immunisation on June 25 in Abuja. I flew into Calabar the following day and took my children who are currently receiving good medical care and are very okay.


It is worthy to note that I did not burgle Kezia's family house, which I rented and furnished for her parents. There was no case of violence against her or any break-in. I simply took my kids for medical care. I have also called Kezia several times and sent messages to discuss her rights to access the children. Proof attached.


I am lost for words and heartbroken. I urge all well-meaning Nigerians to kindly dismiss and disregard every slanderous spin circulated by Kezia Irek and her partner. They have both caused me immeasurable emotional pain and chronic suffering.


This will be my final comment on this issue. I shall allow the Police to conclude their investigations.
